What is an electronic digital signature?
In general, a digital signature is a text string that contains a series of numbers or symbols, each one being unique to an individual, which are used in a digital transaction to prove the origin and authenticity of an electronic data, file, document, or communication. For example, a digital signature is a series of one or more of the following:
Digital ID number of digital asset
E-mail address of digital asset
Public Key Number associated with digital asset
Keyword phrase associated with digital asset
In Bitcoin, each user creates a unique, digital address, representing their ownership of a particular digital asset, by providing a public key number. The public key number is a 32-digit number that is derived from one or more private key numbers, which are also 32-digit numbers. These public key numbers are used to generate a digital address that represents the owner's ownership of the digital asset.
Because a digital asset is a digital representation of financial instruments, a digital asset's public key number can also be used to sign other digital assets, which is a concept known as a blockchain.
In the case of blockchain, one or more blockchains, which serve as a decentralized ledger for all the digital assets in a decentralized network, are constructed, linked, and maintained. How to setup electronic signature on dotloop?
If this is the case, why did you not add this feature to the application?
Is it possible to use a private/public key pair for signing a document in a .pdf file?
I don't really like using .pdf files. I prefer to use .doc files. Is this also possible?
Thank you
Regards
Ravi
I can use a public/private key if I need to sign a doc file with my personal/business key. I know some PDF documents can use the Public-Private Key for signature
I use the key to sign the .doc file with my email address and -export -keykey and the doc file is sent to my mail. I am sure this is very simple.
I used the same method to transfer files using a web application.
I used a key from my .doc file as the signing key but I also have a key-tool export to a private/public key pair.
Regards
Ravi
You can use a key-tool export to a private/public key pair for .pdf files. This is very simple.
To use key-tool export to a private/public key pair for signing a .pdf file.
1. Select the .pdf file that you want to sign
2. Press tab
3. On the "File" tab select "Export" and then "Choose Export Mode"
4. Select "Public-Private Key Pair".
You do not need a private/private key pair for a .pdf file. Key-tool export allows you to export a key-pair to a set of .txt files that will not be visible on your PC.
