this is the home screen a flea focus edge here you can see any jobs you're currently working on but to create a new work order you first search for the asset that you want you can search by asset ID serial number or license number but in this case I know the asset ID of the truck that I want to create a work order for so I'm just going to enter it here when the asset or in this case the truck appears in the search results you simply click on it to open up its asset details on a new page this page has a lot of really useful information on it including basic information assignment information codes attributes and attachments before opening a new work order I first want to check the trucks current and pending work which you can access through the blue action button at the bottom right so this is the current and pending work page on this page you can see if there are any pending items like work orders or work requests for the truck in this case there is an open work request it looks like the air conditioner needs to be looked at now we know that nobody wants a broken a/c in their vehicle so let's create a work order now through the blue action button on this screen we start adding details before finally creating the work order like the reason for the work order in this case it's a scheduled job so I'm going to select that from the list in Fleet focus edge the date automatically sets as today's date or the date of the activity in the app but you can edit that if needed so now I'm just going to add my technician personas contact information here before moving on to the next step which is adding jobs to add a job and fleet focus edge it's pretty simple you really have two primary options you can either add a job from a predefined list like this one or populate a job from an open work request in this example the truck already has an open work request so I'm gonna add that job through simply clicking the little plus button here and there you have it the work order has been created edge does make it pretty easy but that doesn't mean that our job is done in this example I like to think of myself as a pretty prompt technician so I want to begin working on this job immediately which I can do by simply clicking the green play button which will then highlight the job in this orange color so that you know it's active and now you can officially aren't fixing that air-conditioner the next time you visit edge you'll see that the time for the job is being tracked right on the home screen on the home screen you can also quickly see all the details for the job and if you have multiple assigned jobs they'll appear on the home screen - when the job is completed you simply click on the red stop button right on the home screen which then allows you to mark the job as completed in the app and add any necessary comments or information before saving and that is how you create and complete a work order and fleet focus edge if you have any questions or would like to setup a more advanced demo of edge for your organization please reach out to anyone at asset works we're more than happy to help
