Cotton, who both previously worked as researchers at IBM Research in New York City. In the paper, "On Signing Electronic Messages with a Stunningly Simple Signature Scheme," the IBM researchers explain a technique that takes a form of digital signature and uses it to make a secure digital signature on an object, in this case, the image of an email.
