my name is Seth I own sural insurance smarter Solutions Inc where it is our goal to create the best job in America by revolutionizing one of the worst Industries and today I think we took a very big step in that direction it is June 13th 2024 and I just did something I did not think that I was going to do I cancelled my subscription to the CRM that I have been building my system on for the last 2 years and I I hear myself saying this and it sounds somber because it is but but this is not bad news um but it is kind of emotional because the fact that I just did that um I have been working on building a CRM automate the sales process for life insurance for over two years now I have spent tens of thousands of dollars programming this thing paying assistance and subcontractors and sub descriptions and marketers and on and on and on and I just canceled it and the reason I cancelled it is because I have transferred my system to another system uh another go high level account and this is the account of the IMO that I working with if you don't know what an IMO is life insurance industry Works a little a little bit different than most they are all middlemen everybody's in sales everybody takes a chunk from the people below them and Imo stands for an independent marketing organization they are the middlemen between the insurance carriers that actually offer the products and the agency owners they are the in between there they are supposed to help with marketing um but I think more so they help with Contracting and get agencies set up and those types of things well the owner or owner's son I'm not even sure specifically maybe both um has been developing a software system has been developing a system on that software similar to mine although theirs is more to run an agency and mine is a lot more focused on the sales aspect of it and I have gotten to a point where I am pretty much at the end of the road end of the line with finances and my wits end definitely definitely in the midst of burnout kind of on the the tail end of it or at least the second crest of the wave and a big part of this I have been looking for a partner for a while and I had a I was partnering with a marketing company several months ago I was attempting to partner with them because I needed leads partnering with them for lead generation for my system that was a a just a colossal waste of time and money and so that put me in kind of a tough position as far as well a lot of time and money out of my pocket um and so I have been working and trying to figure out organic lead generation and whatnot and just you know realizing that there is absolutely no way I am able going to be able to do what I want to be able to do on my own so I have been looking for partners for quite a while um trying to have a good sense of who I should be working with and thanks to all of the videos mostly from y combinator but I have been doing a lot of research on Tech startups which is somehow I have found myself building a tech startup and I have needed somebody more technical this individual has uh is that you know seems to fit that mold quite well we have really good the company itself not just not just this individual but the whole company um really seems to be on the same path same kind of uh Road as far as what they're trying to accomplish their morals hard work really trying to provide training trying to do things just the right way and this is actually the third IMO that I have been on in this stint uh this is my fourth IMO that I have worked with and I searched quite a bit to find these people and so after a few months of talking and working together and trying to work on this system it we just decided and I finally kind of accepted that the best course of action would just be to relinquish my subscription and give it under their sub account which is also saving me several hundred a month which is good because I have been I am pretty darn close to uh out of money so that will help quite a bit plus I get a lot of additional subscription type things that they have including tech support and including Hippa cert uh certification or whatever it's hipa compliant which is huge I it's not required but it's such a it's just another great level of Security Plus I hopefully I think that could be a good selling point and marketing point for the type of agents that I want to use the exciting thing with this um this is a melding this is a sharing this is a coming together this is a partnership and we are still working on the details which is terrifying um based on my experiences with the last partnership and I know that this is something that has to be figured out I also understand that this is to figure this out properly as far as operating agreements equity revenue shares all of these things that's a very long and very extensive process and and both myself and this other IML are desperate to get this going and get this proven so basically what the agreement is at this point is I will transfer my system over there I get tech support and help I get 50% of Revenue of all of the uh what all of the sales that I bring in plus some it's it's more than just like an affiliate program for me so I will get 50% of all of the agents and anybody that I license this program too but I am under the understanding that anybody that uses my sales aspect of this system because we're combining the sales and the agency part I will also get 50% of all of that revenue and we all have to figure out the details we we talked about 50/50 obviously costs will be evaluated and whatnot it'll be fair for everybody but that's a that's a very big deal for me because let's be honest here the best opportunity is recurring revenue from subscriptions well just recurring Revenue actually I can get recurring revenue from subscriptions from lead generation and from policies but the reason that I spent so much time on developing a sass so I could license it and get the revenue so that is a huge plus also another huge win on this is this IMO has decided that they no longer want want to work with independent agents or new agents um just agency owners I kind of squeaked in there I think I'm just going to be honest I think I got a little bit of a a different treatment because I already came to this with an entire system built and saying I'm looking for partners um now granted if you were to look if you were to look at my life insurance resume it is anything but impressive uh I have spent nearly no time even trying to build it because just I I there was no way my my nuro spicy head would sincerely not allow me to engage in the type of absolute ridiculous efforts that go into life insurance including buying old shitty leads and dialing and annoying people until they buy from you um violating every ethical thing in my body violating every decent sales practice violating every decent business practice so I spent very little time even trying to prove any sales Acumen or accolades or Acumen on the life insurance aspect of things so um with that being said I am feel grateful to have found this partnership I am terrified and excited I got to remind myself excitement and anxiety or scared are pretty much neurologically the exact same emotion it just desire you focusing on the good that can come from it or the bad that can come from it I have been reassured numerous occasions that if this doesn't work I can walk away I can have my system back no hard feelings no nothing like that um so that is comforting I have also given my assurances that I want you know I am looking to find a partnership a longlasting partnership where we can grow and do all these things together because there's no way I could do it by myself myself so um that's not and don't foresee that happening so where I at now the first the first step was transferring my sub account over yesterday which ended up uh there was some hiccups we have to kind of rebuild we have to re-enter my information into the profile which is going to take a little bit of time which is fine um but canceling my subscription and then I have to pay for that subscription which I'll just be honest I'm not real stoked and I made this known that I'm giving my system over and still having to pay for it but I am saving 60% close to uh on a monthly price maybe even more um so I can't really complain and I don't really have much of an option other than that um so where this kind of leaves us now is I have support on the back end of getting agents uploaded having any issues I I actually have support from my IMO but they also pay for several hundred a month for me to have oneon-one 24hour support for any issues that I have which is really I this is all still kind of sinking in which is exciting to me because I can I I will feel much more comfortable now going in and playing with workflows and building other messages and triggers knowing that I have a couple of layers of support and a a kind of a safety net where it's like if this all goes to hell or if I click something wrong like there are other people that can swoop in quickly and and deal with this before I was having to you know a subcontractor you know I have paid fortunately I found an overseas contractor that I'm paying a lot less than I paid for United States contractors but so the United States contractors over the last two years I've have been paying between 95 and $150 an hour to help program this things and normally it would take a day or two to get somebody on the line so I could have an hour's worth of work and it was just not really working out well so that is a huge update upgrade update now what I finally get to do something that I am also excited and anxious for is I finally get to sit down and try to prove this system I get to put my focus toward towards educating people getting out my workflows getting out my offers getting out my lead generation testing my marketing testing my sales I finally get to test this thing I get to put most of my energy towards this and then also making content because part of what I am doing is I am kind of I'm proving the system and I will also be somewhat uh the spokesperson for this system for my Agency for the IMO and that's uh that's where we're at right now that is what I've been wanting to be able to spend my time doing although granted still a bit scary and nerve-wracking because this is all in theory um now granted I'm pretty good at learning pretty good at studying I have read all of the books or most of them all of the important ones on Marketing sales every time I have implemented any of these things they have worked shockingly well but it is yet to be seen tying all of these things together to see how well it works so there is that risk of failure which is not comfortable um I think it's a relatively small risk I think the risk is 100% dependent on the amount of effort I put in which I know myself pretty well and if you were going to bet on somebody putting in a lot of effort I would bet on me and I am my entire life so that is where we are at um that today's a big day it's a big day and I also just had here something funny too I have not been taking appointments although I have been getting appointments some here and there and I just happened to have a family member reach out to me yesterday and ask hey if we could look at some options it just so happened to me that that day uh I was going through this transfer and so and we're still in the process of doing that um like I said I just canceled just just canceled my subscription which is terrifying and so so relieving I think that's I think that's part of the thing too that I'm kind of so surprised at is and and I'm having mixed emotions on it cuz it's like I feel very relieved and I almost feel guilty that I feel relieved which is probably speaks deeper to to some deeper things of of what's going on here um but just the fact that I don't have to deal with this I can say hey this is somebody else's deal Andor I have somebody else I can get on the phone to or or on support instantly um that's huge and I feel like now I can settle into what I am better at uh and what I want to be doing which is selling I want to be talking with people I want to be talking about the system I want to be telling people about the awesomeness that can be in life insurance and changing their opinions on how crappy this industry is because it is crappy I'm not going to lie but we're changing that um that's the update that I have right now out I am incredibly excited I think this is a huge step in the right direction obviously that chapter is yet to be written which makes it a little scary but I have pretty good ideas of where this is going the foreshadowing has been great so far uh now it just comes through execution and trusting which are you know the trusting aspect of things are one of the are one aspect I know I have been needing to work on and delegation which I will say um um I have delegated a hell of a lot of this project away now which is good so maybe that's the relief that I am I am experiencing here um which is new um it and that's uncomfortable the the the uncomfortableness of trusting somebody that they'll actually do what they say they're going to do because I have struggled with that a lot recently is just getting people to do what they're say they're going to do this individual has already put in a tremendous amount of effort on that front he has showed taken taken the steps to make it abundantly clear that he is trying to show that they are trustworthy that they have our best interest that we are on the same page um and it doesn't hurt that he pays you know paid me some good compliments as far as my systems my intelligence my work ethic my documentation and organization so I have um high hopes for this which is also a little scary but I am trying to get my mind out of the negative and not be nervous and be excited about this um that is not that is not one of my strengths uh it's not my default I should say um before I just keep saying um a bunch of times I think I'm going to end it here that is the update that is a big update this is a big day in my life this could be a big turning point and I needed to take some time to do that so there we are um again
