Will all cars be automatic in the UK?
Are manual cars going away? In short, yes. There's no set ban on manual transmission itself, but there is a ban coming into place in 2035 on all petrol and diesel cars. That, by default, rules out manual cars, as all electric cars are automatic.
-
Are manual cars dying out in the UK?
During the first five years (2014-2018), the number of new cars available to buy with manual transmissions varied by just 4%, and actually increased slightly between 2014 and 2016 as brands expanded their model lineups. However, from 2018 onwards the market for manual cars has been in a state of year-over-year decline.

Are all cars going to be automatic in the UK?
The 2035 Ban on New Petrol & Diesel Cars As such, all new cars that will be sold on the market from 2035 onwards will be electric (with the exception of hybrids), the majority of which are automatic. This means that you can still drive petrol and diesel cars, but only if they are bought second-hand.

14 believe me this is not going to beap in the room 1100 hi there welcome back to the channel just a quick talk about small automatic cars or automatic cars under a sort of four five grand at the moment the cheap end of the market it's probably at the moment the only part of the market that's not been affected by the sort of price drops over the last few months every sort of sect if you like pricing from The Prestige stuff to the your everyday sort of fleet cars even the cheapy cars under five grand that I deal in have come down even just a little bit but there is one area of the market that is not stopped in fact I even argue that the prices are still going up the demand is going through the roof and that is small Autos particularly stuff really under sort of a 1.6 L petrol Ford focuses type size or below particularly smaller cars the super minis as well they are really in high demand I get asked for them no exaggeration every single day without fail I get asked for small autos and they're just really hard to get hold of and the prices of them are so difficult well they're just difficult to price up because the book price what you think in your head and what they do in the auctions is just crazy really and I'll show you two examples now to give you an idea of what's going on so the first clip here is a Kia Rio and this is filmed literally the other day it's a 2008 now it is a low mileage car 1.4 Kira with about 27,000 M on so it is super low mileage however as you can see in the water video I do first on this car it actually to be fair it's it's clean-ish but it's not clean clean if we get me it's between sort of average condition and clean it wanted a little bit of work doing to it to justify the sort of low mileage and the condition of it it wanted sort of buffing up definitely a couple of smart repairs and a few touchings but then it would be mint so it still needed work doing to it there was a few hundred to be spent at the paint man regardless it didn't make a difference so as you'll see in this clip here I think we also you'll be shocked of what this made and certainly the auctioneers were shot by this one as you'll see in this video is a gem you don't think it you think K gem what you want about um I like I like these I do buy them this one I won't probably won't be able to buy because of what it is it's a 1.4 automatic that's done 27,000 Mi so it's got everything going right about it low m one4 Auto honestly 27,000 Mi again disappointed it's a bit um well it's been caught a few places couple of smart repairs needed once to complete buff up um it can be made right again it can be made to a proper 27 foul looking car tiny bit here but it is what it is in it you know it's obviously been an old days car not been used much the interior looks like 27,000 Mi it's immaculate warranted mileage on it so it is right probably the only thing at the moment that's still going off with small Autos everything else is sort of flatlined or some of the bigger stuff is coming down quite a bit but not Autos cheaper autos under five grand I don't know just people going to war over him Rio Rio believe me this is not going to be cheap in the room yet 1100 15 13 on theet it 14 on theet 14 on theet was there 16 on the ti to 16 B 16 50 17 was there 15 17 15 at the back proba this one 19 on the 50 950 999 at the back else two the 2 2 the the1 21 21 212 on the neck 22 on the neet 2250 on the neet 2250 the channel 2250 B who's in the room 22 in the r in the 2 here we go 2 get want it on the net says no 50 on theet miss something 24 24 24 it's Grand retail more yes done 2150 last go once twice and 250 wow so there you go 2,450 was paid for that KIA put some fees on top and that's going to be somewhere around the 2,750 pish Mark somewhere around there out the door so it's quite quite a lot of money paid for a very old car an old8 plate Kia nonetheless with 27,000 Mi you know it's it's got a lot of life left in it but it's still a lot of money for a very old car now what was going for that car obviously the mileage the fact was a 1.4 I think helped it a lot as well and obviously the fact that you just demand there is just nothing else out there this is what you're going to be getting for that sort of money that retail on that car was suggesting on the cap guide about 35 36 I probably suggest it's actually more than that I think the person who bought the car thinks that too wasn't surprised to see that car up for at least 395 which again just sounds ridiculous but that is what they are selling for that's what people are paying for them because there is nothing else out there to buy now I'm going to show you another clip this is a 2008 plate voxal corser in the auctions just before Christmas again it's not particularly great on the miles the condition of it is not particularly brilliant in fact it's in a lot worse condition than the K we've just seen although you can't really see much in the video it does require paint it did need a lot of money spending on it it was bang average condition it was nothing nice about the car it was bang average wasn't a wreck but it wasn't clean either it was bang average but yet that made no difference whatsoever this old 2000 PL voxal cors D that needed work still swam the channel as you can see in this clip course automatic 2008 for patrol also fre 78,000 mil been p on over 19 19 50 double PR so as you've just seen in those two clips even in the auctions the trade trying to buy this small vehicle the small automatic vehicle sorry under five grand the demand is huge as we've seen there people throwing their hands up trying to buy them they are the most desired bit of stock out there now why is that why have all of a sudden there's been a big demand for small Autos well there's a number of reasons for that from what I can see first of all there seems to be a real big Trend in people actually passing their driving test in automatic cars particularly over the sort of last five six seven years I remember dealing in my previous business with a couple of uh learner driver companies that only dealt in automatic cars because they seem have cornered a little bit of a market whereas 20 years ago people used to drive Autos were genuinely without events to anyone people who couldn't pass a manual driving test now there are people who just don't want to drive manuals and just go down the automatic route more people have only got automatic licenses not many automatic cars out there particularly of a certain value again we've got a demand and Supply issue we've also got a lot of International Drivers who just prefer Autos I deal so many people from Africa in particular where I am here because there's a lot of immigration around where we are and uh they they got International driving licenses and most of them have driven in Autos they don't use manuals or stick shifts as they call so they just prefer to have automatics again even more demand for autos and with so many new cars being produced now that are actually automatics I think I read somewhere it's now more than 50% are automatics people preference towards them all the electric cars are Auto for obvious reasons there just that seems to be a big push towards automatics maybe in 10 20 years time manual cars will be a thing of the past who knows so the problem to be honest he's not going to get any better I think actually going to get worse and we're going definitely going to see a desire for more automatics going forward and unfortunately I think prices wise the price of small Autos are going to keep going up not going down from what I'm seeing at the moment 3 or four grand does not really get you much of a car these days in the automatic Market compared to a manual option so let me know your stories on Autos have you tried buying one recently forever for yourself or a friend or a loved one are you trying to get on auto at the moment are you struggling to buy one what are you getting for your money guys thank you for watching this video If you haven't liked and subscribed please do so and I'll catch you in the next video
