you're watching this video right now likely you think that you do need leads and i think everybody could say that they do need leads inside their business but what i've noticed working with over 13 entrepreneurs is a lot of the time it's not a lead problem but it's a product market fit problem that simply means that people don't actually want what you're selling and it is a tough pill to swallow one that most entrepreneurs are not willing to do so instead they try 50 different lead generation methods and none of them seem to work so they blame cold email they blame linkedin they blame facebook ads but in reality they haven't done the research up front to make sure that this is a big enough pain point for their target market that they're willing to pay for it i have another video on market research and how to find product market fit that i'll link down in the description below but just understand that if you are having a really hard time with lead generation and you're hearing crickets every single time you post something out there that it may be more of a product market fit problem than a lead generation problem the second thing you're gonna need in a successful b2b lead generation campaign is a sales funnel now whether you know it or not you already have a sales funnel inside your business the typical sales funnel has a few different steps in it first you have eyeballs or traffic which is what we're talking about in this video then you have a lead capture device which is actually where you send those eyeballs on traffic to whether it's like an opt-in page or a booking page and then you have lead conversion which is actually how you're turning those eyeballs into customers inside of my company's scaling systems we actually build this out for our clients but for the purpose of this video just understand that the typical sales funnel is what you're seeing on the ads that you're watching before this video here where someone puts up an ad has traffic drives it to a website or a landing page where they capture your email and then they try to sell you something after they give you their email if you're worried that you don't have time or you don't know how to create a sales funnel you don't have to worry because it's not like you have to come up with this complex 50-step funnel in reality some of the simplest funnels i've ever seen are just case studies of previous client successes that have led to hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars made for my clients if you want to see an example of a sales funnel that's made us over five million dollars i'll drop one down in the description below where you can get access to a training on how i built this business in the first place and you guessed it i put it on a sales funnel this video isn't on sales funnel so i'm not going to go much more in depth here but i do want to show you a graphic that i give my clients as you can see on the screen right here which shows the qualification spectrum and what it essentially says is that the further up along your sales process that you can add qualification the easier it is on your entire sales process and the manual work you would do on the back end whenever you're trying to close clients meaning that if you don't have a sales funnel and you're just getting on the phone with every single person that says that they're willing to get on the phone with you then there's a lot of manual work in that process whether it's you or your sales reps or your sdrs but if you can add a little bit of friction further up along the sales process like hey before you get on the phone with me you have to watch this 30 minute or 40 minute video then you may have less calls coming through or less prospects coming through but they're going to be much more qualified and it's less work for your sales reps alright at this point i'm going to assume that you have product market fit and you already have a sales funnel so now we're gonna get into how to actually generate leads for that sales funnel for the simplicity of this video i'm gonna break down b2b lead generation into three separate buckets seeds nets and spears now i originally got this concept from a great book called predictable revenue but i've modified it for the modern day b2b lead generator so your first bucket of b2b lead generation is seeds and seeds are exactly what they sound like they're little things that you plant in the ground now and over time they yield you a harvest this is really going to be your organic content marketing strategy in the business to business world a great example that we use is this youtube video right here i'm posting videos on youtube on a weekly basis and when i first post them they're just baby little seeds that don't really have any kind of yield or harvest from them but as time grows and i continue to post and more people look me up online they're going to watch more of my videos which then in turn sends them to my sales funnel these organic marketing strategies take a very long time in order to get the most out of them but once you do start getting something out of them then you realize the importance of it and that's exactly what happened my youtube video i have been creating youtube videos now for over a year i have over 100 youtube videos and sure i only have like 10 000 subscribers but we're making hundreds of thousands of dollars every single month from the videos that i made a year ago a few other really great examples of seed b2b marketing is going to be creating a facebook group which i'm sure you've seen and you can join my in the description down below or creating an instagram profile that showcases your clients or your services and the second bucket for b2b lead generation is going to be nets they're called nets because usually you're getting a large group of people that you're targeting or you're getting in front of and these are great examples of paid advertising on facebook or on youtube it could be a podcast that you get on or an interview that you've gotten on another youtube channel this is when you're getting in front of large pools of people and you know that at least some of them are your target market we spend millions of dollars every single year running ads on youtube and what we've learned is that we really only want two to three percent of the people that see the ad to actually click to our sales funnel page that means that we're casting a wide enough net that 97 of the people that see the ad are not interested or are not clicking on it but we are casting it wide enough and targeted enough that we're actually getting people that are interested to go to our sales funnel once again to highlight the importance of a sales funnel imagine if we just went straight from a cold ad where we had three percent of people actually clicking on the ad and we went to getting on a phone call with me right away there would be almost no qualification up front and i would be spending a lot of time on the back end trying to qualify people and close them who aren't even interested in my products or services hey guys really quickly if team is sending out to your target market every single day now spears may not make sense if you're selling something for let's say a hundred dollars or two hundred dollars but if you're selling something like a lot of my clients for three five ten fifteen even twenty thousand dollars then a lot of the times it is worth it to curate a really customized email to a really specific person if you know there's a good chance they're qualified and they're gonna buy some practical examples of spear lead generation techniques that we use inside of our company are cold linkedin messaging and cold emailing i know everyone here thinks that direct messaging and cold emailing is dead but more likely than not that's just because you don't have your product market fit down yet we've used cold messaging to generate millions of dollars inside of our company and the way that we've done that is through hyper personalized and hyper targeted messages you shouldn't just be sending the same email to 10 000 people as you're not likely to get a response from that but as the name implies with spears you are really spending a good bit of time like three five sometimes even 10 minutes per prospect that you're sending a message to but it is hyper curated and specialized to who they are and what likely their pain points are inside of our program scaling with systems i give our clients our exact
