all right so in this video I'm going to show you how to build a list of e-commerce businesses finding the decision makers in four simple steps if you don't know who I am my name is Nick Abraham I am the founder at liebird we are at B2B Legion agency so we generate leads for our clients on a paper lead model and we have a ton of clients that Target the e-commerce space and so I'll walk you through the exact framework my team uses to build a really good accurate list of e-commerce websites and you know Outsourcing this to someone this is the steps that they should do and have in place to build an accurate list for yourself so let's let's get right into it so the first thing is you have to identify eCommerce websites so the one thing that all eCommerce websites have in common is that they're built on certain platforms like Shopify Bigcommerce woocommerce and some of these other ones right and so you gotta identify all the websites that are built on these platforms and there's two databases that do that store leads and built with so let's kind of look into store leads I like store leads a lot because they categorize the data right so like if I wanted to find everyone that's in the health space and even Niche down even further to or on dental care I can find 10 000 websites that are in that specific e-commerce sub Niche and by doing so I'm able to you know write really compelling copies so now in my cold email I can say Hey you know we've been working with other Dental Care Brands to help them do X Y and Z I saw that you're a dental care brand I'd love to help you you know you can come in with more specific targeted copy and so that's why I like store leads but the one thing I would say about built with is that built with is by far the best aggregator when it comes to Tech data they have millions of crawlers that are constantly crawling the internet and so you'll find a lot more fresh data on built with and by using their Advanced filters you can get it to be almost as specific and categorized as store leads but it might be just a little bit less as accurate because you're kind of using their built-in filters but the data in Shopify is much larger there's a bigger data set I'm pretty sure store leads and pretty much everyone else that uses any kind of tech filter is buying their data in bulk from built with and just doing a better job and categorizing it and so that's built with in a nutshell built with this kind of expensive it's 495 bucks a month so if you just need like a 1 one list of Shopify brands or Shopify stores or whatever you can go to export builtwith.io they charge you like 30 bucks per list and so that's a cheap easy way to save money there and so now you've identified and now you have a list of websites that fit that e-commerce threshold but now you need to find the emails and the emails that most of these databases give are pretty awful right and they're typically like the info ad or contact support and there's no point of emailing those and so what you want to do now is go from getting a list of website URLs to the decision Maker's emails and let me show you how to do that effectively so once you export the CSV you basically will have a file like this right you got the domain names and a ton of other data that you know some may be accurate some may not be just depends but what we're going to do here now is take the list of domains so I'm going to go ahead and command C this and I'm just going to command c a couple of these you'll see that this has like 70 000 in here so you're gonna command C like the first 33 right and I am going to go to apollo.io I'm going to hit search I'm going to go into the company section and I'm going to include a list of companies and so this is the domains that I have and click save and search and what I'm telling Apollo is go find me everyone that works at all these companies and so this is all the employees at all these companies but this is everyone I don't want to email everyone I want to email people that are specific to what I'm selling so that takes me to my next step using chat GPT to find the decision makers so all you need to do is go into chat GPT and you want to put in what you do so you want to say I sell e-commerce marketing services using Facebook ads because that's what everybody does I'm looking to build a lead list of people that I should be reaching out to to sell to can you provide me an extensive list of job titles that I should be reaching out to and what chat GPT is going to do is going to give you a whole bunch of relevant title right so now you have all the employees that work across these websites and now you're going to input the titles right here job titles and you're going to put all the ones that are relevant here there's some that may not be relevant so let's say for example like an e-commerce consultant probably don't want to put them in there but you do want to put the marketing director the digital marketing manager the e-commerce manager and so forth so you're going to put all of those inside of the title and now it's going to filter all all the employees to get the specific ones you put in the title so let's say I just put in brand manager there's 21 of them out of the 33. great and so now I need to export these 21. so what I'm going to do is copy this URL and I'm going to go to export apollo.io this is like another cool service similar to export built with where I can simply paste my URL and get it back automatically all done really quickly this is the quickest way to scrape out of Apollo and you know save money as well so tool I would recommend and so now we have done two things we've built a list of e-commerce websites we've identified the owners and the decision makers at these eCommerce websites and we've gone through the process of actually pulling them out of the platform and so now what I want to do is take the CSV that export Apollo gives me and I want to go to million verifier million verifier is a validation tool so it's going to go ahead and validate all the emails in that CSV file tell me which ones are valid and the ones that I can email and that's gonna you know get me back roughly 40 percent of my but the other 60 are either going to be invalid emails or catch-all emails and so you want to take all the catch-all emails and put them through scrubby.io and what's scrubby it's going to validate your risky emails and so now you'll get back at least 20 to 30 of your list so out of that 100 that you validated 40 is valid and then you're adding back let's say roughly about 20 to 30 through the catch-all so now you have seventy percent of your email list that you can email and then what you want to do last is take all the invalid contacts that you had and you want to go to bettercontacts.rocks and so I'm going to show you how efficient this platform is really quickly but what better contacts does is they'll take the data that you have from the CSV file which will be the first name the last name the email or the invalid email right so our goal is to find the ballot you know the LinkedIn URL the website profile LinkedIn URL the company LinkedIn URL and they'll take all that data and run it through you know eight to ten different data sources like this to try to find the email the correct email of the person and so so here's like a sample list that I did and I just kind of want to show you the results so this was 277 people that I submitted that I didn't have an email for because it came back as invalid via chameleon verifier and out of that 277 got 70 of that list back because it ran it through nine different data sources and I don't need access to these nine other data sources they'll just run it through and you're just paying them and so this will once again help you get more of your vivos back and by doing so you have now built a lead list of valid e-commerce business owners and decision makers that you can then Prospect into to sell your service and you know a majority of the people they don't do half of what I just showed you and they specifically don't do steps three and four and because of that they can't get the results that they want by putting it through scrubby you're getting a lot of your leaderless back and identifying people that typically don't get emails because most people don't email the catch-alls and by putting it through better contacts you're opening up your tab by identifying more emails and so these are two things that most people will never do and so by doing it you will stand out and probably get better results results in the e-commerce space this is where everybody is cold emailing so if you don't get you know a lead per every 200 emails that you send out don't be sad don't be worried it's just a tough industry to break into specifically if you're selling any kind of agency service so make sure your landing page is built up properly you have a vsl on your landing page you have client success stories you have a great offer a great product and everything of that sort and it makes it the job of getting results in the e-commerce space a lot
