your mind right now if somebody has proposed the opportunity of buying leads for your business and in this episode I'm going to share with you the good the bad and the ugly because I have been doing what I've been doing since 2009 I have seen so many people go down this road so I've got some really good insight to share with you so stay tuned [Music] welcome to episode 185 my name is tani Eliza might be thinking well Tanya if you've never done it how the heck can you talk about it well I've never purchase leads because I learned how to generate my own leads before buying leads was even brought into my world or even a concept that ran by my desk but I know a lot of people and people that are specifically directly related in my world that have purchased leads and I've seen the good the bad and the ugly mostly bad mostly ugly so here's my take on what buying leads is good for you'll get a bunch of really good practice on the phone or directly corresponding with somebody but it won't really net you much business and it's going to take a lot of time it's going to take a lot of leads that you have to run through before you're gonna make a sale and so the good part of it is if you're not really that good at conversation sales conversations buying leads has its place where it gives you a lot of the opportunities to just get really good at your relationship skills but if you're looking to make money and convert those people into sales I haven't really ever seen much success except for you do have to go through a lot and you do have to spend a lot of money because any good lead list that is of high quality and there's many different qualities of lead lists that you could buy if there are any good quality at least if they're advertised as good quality then they're going to be really expensive for you obviously you get what you pay for so I just don't do it and here's this cific problem that I currently see no matter how these leads or lists are marketed or sold to you or advertised typically they're recycled leads and so what is recycled leads mean it means that they're sold multiple times and so you want to find out if you are gonna buy a lead listo how many times is that Lila's sold because if one contact on the list is being distributed and sold multiple multiple times they're gonna have so many people calling these people they're just gonna get annoyed and by the time you get around to calling them they're not gonna want to hear from you and it's gonna make for an uncomfortable experience number two they have no idea who you are so you're some random person giving them a call trying to sell them something trying to pitch them and so because you have no trust or rapport credibility built with them it makes for a tougher open of that phone call when somebody is getting cold calls they don't know who you are they're like who's this what are you trying to sell me and so when you learn to generate your own leads because liens are good but if you can generate them yourself and you can build a relationship with that lead before you call them so that they know you before you call them when you call them it makes for a much pleasant conversation and these people are actually really excited to hear from you and so I'm gonna give you some more tips here but you guys know in every episode of Tana Eliza TV that I like to else is they're not qualified so this is something that I teach on top of generating your own leads you want to qualify them so that you're not wasting your time with the wrong people on your phone because your time is very precious and you want to maximize your opportunities in your business and your time and your and your resources and your money so when you can learn how to prequalify somebody before you spend time with them on the phone or on facebook messenger or by email it is so magical because by the time you actually have that phone call they're pretty much ready to go you just need to have a quick reconnection phone call and then ask them hey is there anything else you need to know before we get you started so when you buy leads from a lead list they don't prequalify these people to you and what it is that you're selling so that's why I've got the web class it's going to be amazing and I'll show you the process of not only generating your own leads which is powerful but also pre-qualifying them so that you can definitely stop wasting time in your business so you can probably understand more I fall right now when it comes to buying lead lists I don't recommend it as a great strategy for business building it might be a great strategy to help sharpen your skills with making you a little tougher maybe the rejection also being very good with relationships with you know putting yourself through the sales process might be a good practice strategy but as far as a good business building strategy you really want to get good at marketing yourself and your products and your business and generating your own leads pre-qualifying them warming them up to you so that when you make the connection on Facebook or email or Instagram or wherever or even the tell they know who you are they're expecting and are excited that you called and all you need to do at that point is just build a little warm and fuzzy see if they're ready to get started
