We provide group travel and you weren't allowed to meet in groups so that was it, game over for us and that's genuinely what I thought. It's exactly one year ago this week that we took our last private group out for travel so um yeah I can't believe we're still here really. In the beginning, it was very frightening, you felt threat, you know you felt threatened and scared about what was going to happen to your business and we are a family business so every member of the family works in our business and we were concerned about what work they were going to be able to do whether they're going to be able to feed their families, keep a roof over their heads, yeah, no it was scary. The first things we did was look at the structure internally of the business so the infrastructure of the business. We've run the business for 30 years, we've kept up with the growth as best we could but in the last five years, the growth of the business has been so significant that actually what we found after talking to Simon was that we've outgrown so much of what we were doing from the people that were doing the jobs in the way that they were doing them and the systems that we were using so one of the biggest changes that's come about as a result of the work t hat we've done with our business coach is that we have systemised everything within the office and so we've got mild stains in place over the next few years and those milestones include growth of the company continuing to build on that infrastructure that we've already started and ultimately a financial growth and at the end of the day um you know hopefully a vision that we'll be able to retire in a nice comfortable position I suppose. So as part of our plan we have a goal to increase the turnover of our business by five times as much as it was pre-pandemic and behind that we need the structure of financing of the vehicles, training and getting new drivers on board, systems within the office to manage that level of growth so that's the sort of work that we've been doing now so that we can start to build towards those steps. Myself and my husband spent an incredible percentage of our day involved in our business doing the business but as a result of the work that we've done we now are observing it as an outsider and other people do the business but we oversee what's happening and we're able to then push those goals that we've set ourselves you know, forward and not get too bogged down with the day-to-day running of it and we've certainly got a long way to go and still do some more work on that but we know what the vision is, we know what we want to achieve which is ultimately that we will be able to take some time back and not be so engrossed 7 days a week 365 days a year. Just got more knowledge I've got more confidence in what I'm doing and I feel quite empowered to achieve what we were setting out to achieve I feel like we could actually do it rather than it just being a pipe dream.
