and if the customer or a business replies back to my ad query on email i may not reply to them instantly i mean because by then some other business may have contacted me would have sent me some more information maybe a proposal would have asked me a few probing questions to understand what i am looking for and we would have made some headway so much that i would like to put other businesses then who contact me after the first couple of responses on the back burner they would be like a backup plan to me i would first try and talk to the one or two or three who would have responded quickly and instantly to me so that's important right now if i'm filling up a form elite form on my mobile phone i'm available right i'm free because right now i'm looking for something but the moment that lead hits your server a spreadsheet an online or crm if you could call me instantly then hey hi uh we just received an email from you we received an inquiry from you how may we help i'm available to pick up the phone call because right now my intent is very high i'm looking for a particular service so if you could respond to me within the first five seconds or let's say within the first minute you have a higher probability of closing your online digital leads that you pay for right these leads are not free you bid for that top position and hence you're getting enquiries from search engines when product or a service he or she has swiped right on your business don't make them wait because as i said most would hate if they swipe right and are made doing so putting mechanisms in place putting checks in place and keep monitoring your response time today it might be 24 hours yes you may think that okay 24 hours that's long enough but more than 75 percent of online business inquiries digital leads don't get answered to within 24 hours it happens on day two or even day three till the time the customer would have already changed this or mind or somebody else would have reached out to the customer and would have given all the required information and a sales proportion so don't be the one who is late when your customer swipes right be prompt be instant and reach out to the customer talk to the customer ensure the communication channel is open it may then take time to close you may have to have to follow up multiple times that's fine but ensure that the communication channel with the customer is opened as soon as you can i would say reply to a new lead within the first five to ten seconds first have an automated reply go to the customer for filling up the form via email and via sms if you're collecting phone numbers and then have somebody call that need immediately do it within the first one minute right now whatever is your response time if it is say 12 hours try and set a target for one hour if it is 24 hours still try to set a target for one hour ideally try and target to call every digital lead within the first five minutes and then go on improving upon that till you're able to call every lead within the first minute that's the golden time i would say to contact a digital inquiry you may not be able to have a conversation long enough but you would have acknowledged the customer who has expressed an interest and that's what i say sales is like dating you need to acknowledge the interest and reciprocate and open a communication channel for a longer
