So we had been looking for a online document signing software for our equipment rental company. we had a couple criteria, first was the ability to have the cudtomer upload a picture of their ID and Proof of insurance to verify their Identity. Also we needed it to be legally binding, and for it to be reasonably priced as we are still pretty small and rentals are only a portion of our revenue and wouldn't justify a month subscription some of the other software we looking at had. This fit the bill and more. Glad we switched.

The ability to sign forms even when I am not in the office which is quite often due to all the work I do in the field.

I have been using the system for over a year now. It allows me to conduct business no matter if I am in the office or not. I have to sign medical consent forms for my clients and this allows me to do so no matter where I am. I use both the mobile app and the online desktop version.

[Music] tonight football favor Canada's men face off in a historic match can the hype and the hopes it's surreal to be honest with you as Canada defied the odds to take on soccer giant [Music] Argentina Ticket Master credit card number stolen personal information at risk this is a massive hack we're talking about over potentially 500 million people what you should do if you got one of those emails extreme heat on both coasts drink lots of fluids and stain in the shade climate Chang is supercharging heat waves but by how much from CBC News this is the national with Wanita Taylor thank you for joining us Adrien is aw disappointment tonight for Canadian soccer fans Canada losing to Argentina in a semi-final at Copa America despite the result on the field Canada made history just getting to this point and it's not over yet after an incredible and surprising run to make it to the semis it was arguably the biggest game Canada's men's soccer has ever played and their first time at the high-profile tournament Canada ranks 48th while while Argentina is looking to defend its Copa America Title going for its 16th win led by Superstar Leonel Messi the US is hosting the tournament this year Katie Nicholson is at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey for us tonight so Katie a tough loss for Canada yeah this was not the result that Canadian fans had been hoping for a falling 2-0 to Argentina but still by virt of the fact that they were here in a semi-final that makes this a night for the Canadian men's soccer history books and you know they are still going to have a very bright future if you ask any of the fans who have followed them here Canadian men's soccer has never had a night quite like this and either have the fans Canada's first appearance at Copa America a fiery debut that's taken them all the way to the semi-finals shocking even its former Stars it's surreal to be honest with you it's uh as you know as a former player I didn't really imagine that this could possibly happen hopelessly outnumbered by Argentina fans a David and Goliath battle in the stands mirroring the one on the field as the for 48th ranked Canadians take on the number one team in the world for the second time this tournament fans say going toe-to-toe with giants sets them up for Success the next time the World Cup is on Canadian soil it doesn't end here we still have another match after this no matter whether we win or lose and then after that you know we we we keep the ball rolling to 2026 and after that many attribute Canada's shift to a fast aggressive style to its new head coach Jesse Marsh and what has emerged is a new roster of household names Mar time Messi it's my favorite player Jacob shackleburg and keeper Maxim kpo who denied goal after goal like a brick wall throughout the tournament a team so inspiring hundreds drove and flew great [Music] distances to watch to cheer and Dare To Dream you I just fight all the way I just for Ticket ticket for L to like New York and I want to win this history I mean people think that Canada is boring but they all showed up tonight and Monita this isn't the end of Canada's Copa Journey sure they're not playing in the final championship but on Saturday they will play for third place and that is again Canadian men's soccer history and also Copa history all right Katie Nicholson reporting tonight from East Rutherford New Jersey thank you Katie well well millions of Ticket Master customers are still getting emails tonight warning their personal information including credit card numbers is at risk Ticket Master was this spring but is only informing customers Now Vanessa Lee looks at what we know about the breach and what you should do [Music] next It's a cruel start to the summer for many Ticket Master customers who bought tickets to events in North America we like has got one yet it wasn't hard to find Canadians who got the email telling them their personal information could be at risk oh definitely not happy with it um wonder if there's a way it could have been prevented for sure the ticket seller says between April 2nd and May 18th an unauthorized user gained access to a cloud database hosted by a third-party provider obtaining names contact information and credit card numbers this is a massive hack we're talking about over potentially 500 million people whose information may have been compromised weeks ago a hacking group called shiny Hunters claims it stole the personal information of more than half a billion Ticket Master customers Ticket Master has not confirmed a connection this isn't your run-of-the-mill hacking organization this is an organization that's highly coordinated and has sophisticated tools while Ticket Master says it's investigating with help from outside experts and contacted us law enforcement consumers are encouraged to take their own actions monitor your your credit reports to make sure that uh your no credit applications have been taken out in your name you want to be vigilant we are writing to notify you of a customers like Ros forbs are angry and considering legal action she noticed fraudulent activity on her account at the end of April and now believes it's linked to this hack I had about $10,000 of weird charges on it that I didn't authorize um and I also um got a bunch of weird emails that somebody was applying for car loans Ticket Master is offering what it's calling identity monitoring free to its affected customers to look out for their personal data on the dark web though some say that's just not enough Vanessa Lee CBC News Montreal amid doubts over his political future a defiant US President Joe Biden gave a forceful speech kicking off the NATO Summit but behind closed doors the debate over his candidacy continues Paul Hunter shows us a party divided with his political future in the balance when Joe Biden walked out on stage at the NATO Summit in Washington a key headline afterward he didn't lose his train of thought good evening yes scripted remarks and yes with teleprompters earlier Biden's abilities even put to Justin Trudeau Mr Minister do you have any concerns about bid's agal good to see everyone here this morning ever since his stumbling performance at that debate with former president Donald Trump Biden's Fitness for office has been the issue in the contest for the White House now a seventh Democratic lawmaker is publicly calling for Biden to end his campaign in a statement saying I'm asking that he declare that he won't run do you have concerns about the President Joe Biden is the nominee all day in the US capital Democrats met to talk about Biden's mental acuity many still stand with him we riding with bid was there conversation about vice president r with bid but there Remain the others he he just has to step down because uh he can't win the debate cannot be unseen highlighting Their Fear if Biden stays in Donald Trump wins in nov you shouldn't leave a legacy that um endangers us that we surrender to a tyrant and yet as Biden emphasizes he's not leaving for other Democrats a realization all this infighting is costing them already now signaling if he's staying they've got to reframe those headlines you know talk about the importance of preventing Donald Trump from ever sitting foot in the white house it's because Donald Trump is dangerous he is a convicted felon and adjudicated sex predator a wannabe dictator Paul Biden was more assured in tonight's speech but will that dampen calls for him to step aside yeah well here's the challenge Biden faces on that everything he does is now seen through the prism of his performance in that debate so much damage has already been done tonight at a rally in Florida Donald Trump with teleprompters challenged Joe Biden to another debate anywhere anytime and by the way around of Gulf as well all As Trump put it to give Biden a chance to prove he's got what it takes Trump's message now is that Biden is weak Trump had the air of a candidate who knows he's been given a gift with all of this and is now supremely confident going forward Paul Hunter in Washington thank you Paul the US and NATO allies tonight committed to sending dozens of air defense systems to Ukraine but defense spending targets remain a key issue for the alliance with Canada Under Pressure to spend more and as Evan Dyer explains if Trump is reelected that pressure could be much more threatening as Britain's new prime minister headed off to Washington for the NATO Summit he pledged unity and more defense spending this NATO Summit is an opportunity for allies to stand together to strengthen their resolve I'm committed to that 2.5 2 and a half% of GDP on defense that's above the NATO threshold of 2% Britain like most of NATO has been spending more lately and plans to go even further Canada spent more too but is still well short of the 2% Benchmark it's now one of only nine countries that missed the mark with no plan to get there by the end of the decade the Trudeau government says it's had to rebuild from record low defense spending under the previous conservative government under Steven Harper's conservatives Canada's defense spending fell to less than 1% to 0.9% of GDP but that argument doesn't carry much weight on Capitol Hill where a bipartisan group of US senators recently wrote to Justin Trudeau expressing profound disappointment at Canada's progress this morning looking forward to a great meeting with this uh distinguished group of senators Trudeau met with Senate leaders to try to persuade them that Canada is on the right track that the pressure on Canada could dramatically increase if Donald Trump is reelected we do need to see more disincentives and I think it'll be important um for for Canada to understand that I think those Alby served in the last Trump Administration and he's been floated as a potential National Security adviser if Trump returns he says he'd like to see trade actions against Canada and possibly try to boot Canada from the G7 what kind of signal does it send for Canada to be in the G7 when it essentially mocks the the the bare minimum of what's required those kinds of threats are unprecedented and Canadian officials know that what is now really gentle chiding by the Biden admin Administration could turn into a no hols barred high pressure campaign if the Democrats lose in November Evan Dyer CBC News Washington turning now to the blistering heat wve gripping much of western Canada with some areas in BC hitting highs of 40° heat warnings are currently Russian President Vladimir Putin for decades the two countries have had strong ties but as Brier Stewart explains Russia's war on Ukraine has complicated that relationship Russia's president escorted India's prime minister around his residence during Narendra Mod's first visit to the country since 2019 it's a great pleasure to visit a friend at his home Modi proclaimed but you could argue the pleasure was Vladimir Putin's given that Mod's visit comes as the NATO Summit gets underway and shows that some world leaders are more than happy to do business with Moscow still it's a message that India holds on to strategic autonomy it's trying to go ahead with its Balancing Act in relationship with different powers Modi met with Ukraine's president last month but India has taken that neutral stance on Russia's Invasion Modi hasn't explicitly condemned it but made these pointed remarks during his visit the sight of innocent children dying shatters your heart and this pain is extremely archaeologists are finding clues in a Saskatchewan Forest about the indigenous people who lived there thousands of years ago when we say we lived at the Buffalo thousands and thousands of years well this site will prove that what the site could teach us about its early inhabitants and the dream of Nunavut becoming a reality 25 years ago our land our resources in the hands of our people one of the leaders who negotiated it breaks down how it took shape and what the future could hold plus Canada under increasing pressure from NATO to pay its fair share and we're the only Ally the lone Ally Ally that sits in that quadrant of Shame as the alliance turns 75 we'll look at how we got to this point the national breaks down the stories shaping our world [Music] next the Cen Tower and the jacqu Cartier bridge in Montreal were among some 50 landmarks lit up across the country tonight to honor Canada's paralympic team it's just 50 days before the par Olympic Games in Paris more than 4,400 indigenous history in the region as Alexandre Silberman shows us they've already found some artifacts that date back thousands of years in the Boreal forest of Northern Saskatchewan archaeologists believe this Riverbend is covered in clues about its earliest residents indigenous people arriving after the Ice Age some 10,000 years ago now researchers from the University of Calgary and the University of Saskatchewan are gathering samples of soil seeds and pollen to learn how they lived so we can get a sense of how they changed their relationship with the landscape over thousands of years those Clues include these dark lines or paleosols ancient soils preserved under sediment there's also markings with charcoal signs of a possible heart this is a piece of flake or debot that's left over from Stone tool making this local historian found dozens of cultural objects here including a bison bone tool estimated to be more than 9,200 years old he brought the site to the attention postglacial human occupation in this part of Saskatchewan they hope it will reveal exactly when people began living here more than 9,000 years ago Alexander Silverman CBC news near Prince Albert Saskatchewan now let's break down the news shaping our world Justin trau under pressure at the NATO Summit we Trace Canada's decline from proud founding member to a scorned UND spender we're the only Ally the lone Ally that sits in that quadrant of shame but first on this very special nunut day there are celebrations but also big challenges to meet that was always the goal is for Nunu to be in charge of itself the territory is at a turning point as it turns 25 and caps off a remarkable year our land our resources in the hands of our people a historic agreement with the federal government has set the stage for Inuit leaders to make their own decisions about resource development it's really important that we start ramping up that won't take full effect until 2027 and a lot needs to be done before then but it's one more reason why the people of nunut are Keen to shape their own future celebrating the big day today is Paul quasa he's the former premier of nunut and was also one of the chief negotiators of the nunut agreement that created the territory of Nuna thank you for joining us today and there is so much to cele celebrate today what does nunut day mean for you well first of all me thank you very much for having me and and today's a great day for Nuna mute and and certainly the rest of Canada because to me uh nun the creation of nun and the whole langst itself was a milestone for all Inu and nun mute in general because again it gave us a sense of uh uh uh uh self a sense of Pride and you know a destiny uh that we could car out uh by ourselves the residents of nun mute and especially Inu and quasa you've been one of the leaders involved in the land claim movement since the very beginning how does life compare for nunam mute then and now well again I think the Canadians know the history of Inu prior to uh any contact with the Europeans they were very self-sufficient they were self-reliant even though uh we lived in the harshest climate uh but I think uh with all the traumas that took place uh prior to uh negotiations uh I think this itself uh meant that in are very resilient and and through hardships uh they can survive and and it took us well over 20 years to to come uh to come to a reality of our vision of of of to of ensuring that our language our culture will forever be protected and our environment and and that was it was all about because as I said Inu uh were very self-sufficient and self-reliant and and that's the goal of nun M to once again because self-sufficient and self-reliant it's a longstanding vision as you mentioned for nunut to take control over its lands and resources and that became a reality with the signing of the Devolution agreement earlier this year now the agreement goes into effect in 2027 are you hopeful that it will deliver what it's supposed to well I certainly hope so because again we have a lot of resources in nunut and that is the way to become self-sufficient I believe we have so much opportunities you know we have Fisheries we have tourism we have uh a lot of minerals that that are still untapped and and uh and as you can see even now uh all the mines that are operating in N it are all on in own lands and that was our vision to reap our resources in a very sustainable way our young people are are very capable and it's a matter of looking outside and and exploring and and taking advantage of what we have in nun and quasa just one final question for you today what wisdom can you offer to your grandchildren and all of the people in nunut uh of this generation who are looking forward to the future of nunu what would you say to them and quasa you're welcome to say it in both intitute and English yes I believe you know after all that hard work that was done during negotiations for a purpose and and the purpose is to ensure uh in will always be proud and and and to know who they are to to ensure our language and our culture is is alive and well that was the main purpose of of negotiating our L claims agreement and and certainly we have enough tools uh to use now that we can uh uh enhance and and use uh our our tradition and be proud of our culture and language and happy day to you happy day all here's a quick look at an interview we're working on for you Marie Wilson who served on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission is opening up about how she achieved the role of commissioner and how it has changed her life how did you as one of the three Commissioners who had to sit and listen at all those hearings and at all those National events how did you keep it together well you know one of the things I learned uh and I learned it um in in a crisis moment where I did start to lose it you know I could feel myself kind of going underwater as it were I I was I was going to start crying outwardly um and uh I caught myself and I realized that the trigger for me was that I was projecting to my own children and to my own grandchildren and asking myself the question that Canadians need to ask themselves and have been asking themselves which is what if this had happened to my child what if this had been my kids they took away and I didn't get to raise the response of the Survivor who was speaking to me is that they immediately stopped talking and I thought I cannot be the one who prevents that person from sharing fully what they came here to say today so I've got to get my act together and I just I kind of flipped a switch and did that and carried on from there Marie Wilson had a lot more to say about her role on the commission and other Reflections from the new book she has written you can look for that full interview on Thursday on the national coming up as NATO marks 75 years Canada is under scrutiny for its contribution what kind of signal does it send for Canada to be in the G7 when it essentially mocks the the the bare minimum of what's required we'll break down the complicated path that's led to today that's [Music] [Music] next NATO leaders gather to confront a dangerous world and send a very very clear message to Putin but Canada's also getting a message to spend more on defense you need to put your money where your mouth is we break down how this country has lost face compared to its proud role at NATO's birth in April the alliance marked its 75th anniversary and Murray Brewster took that opportunity to put Canada's role in NATO into perspective here's another look at what he found NATO on the eve of its 75th Anniversary we welcome Sweden into NATO at the critical time for our shared Security in many ways it has returned to its roots facing an old foe a resurgent Russia threatening nuclear war in other ways it is no longer business as usual one of the presidents of a big country stood up said well sir uh if if we don't pay and we're attacked by Russia will you protect us I said no I would not protect you in fact I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want you got to pay you got to pay your bills with the war raging in Ukraine Europe is nervous some countries have reintroduced conscription and are building bomb shelters others are talking about it many like Admiral Rob Bower the head of NATO's military committee believe the West overall has entered a pre-war period the issue is that Russia has larger Ambitions than Ukraine we know that and therefore the alliance as a whole needs to be ready here uh because we uh agreed to see Russia as a threat like the terrorist organizations while Europe talks about Nations being ready for what comes next Canada's top military commander General Wayne a struggles to get attention on the Readiness of his own troops but I will tell you that the uh the military that we have today um is not the military that we need for the uh the threats that are appearing in the in the future but then there's the issue of how much or how little we spend on defense and the 2% uh Target is one that we uh all agreed to uh but we also recognize that there are uh many ways of evaluating one's contributions to Nato Canada a founding member of NATO is now often openly chastised over defense spending and seeming offside from our allies how did we get here Canada represented by Mr leester B pearon gives massive strength to the treaty we often hear about Lester B Pearson and his Nobel Peace Prize Legacy of peacekeeping what doesn't get said and is often overlooked is the influence Pearson had in shaping the alliance pushing it to be more than just a military headquarters with the inclusion of specific language in NATO's founding Charter that also makes it a forum for political and economic dialogue University of Toronto historian Tim s says that was by Design in the late 1940s with the possibility of War looming Canadian officials were not ready to leave that decision for war to others and so the Canadian experience fighting alongside the Americans and the British in the second world war had convinced them that that sometimes Canadian wisdom should be a part of the conversation by the 1970s Dayton with Soviet Russia was in the air a new government and a new generation had grown skeptical of NATO and reduced Canada's contingent in Europe while courting trade with West German Chancellor helmet Schmidt former Diplomat Colin Robertson tells us the prime minister of the day Pierre Trudeau was forced to reconsider helmet schmidth said to Trudeau um no tanks no trade and so at that point Pier Trudeau says okay this NATO really does have value and he puts significant monies we sometimes forget this when you look at it through the long lens of History the Jubilation over the end of the Cold War was shortlived as NATO and Canada found themselves fighting Terror far outside of Europe retired General Ray Hano was the last Canadian chief chair of the NATO military committee and says the country's currency has often been measured by what it contributes in Boots not spending I still support that NATO Target uh but I don't think it detracts from the respect and the uh the high regard in which CA Canada and its military has held in the NATO Forum not by any means and yet since NATO is at Canada's insistence a political Forum the conversation and the political pressure keeps coming back to money as it did in 2019 when a question I posed to Donald Trump created this Awkward Moment Mr President uh Canada does not me 2% standard should it have a plan to meet 2% standard well we'll put them on a payment plan you know we'll put down it on a payment plan right I'm sure the Prime Minister would love that what are you at what what is your number uh the number we talk about is 70% increase uh over these past years uh including and for the coming years uh we are increasing significantly our defense spending from previous governments that cut it okay where are you now uh in terms of your number we're at 135 1.34 14 uh we're leading in in lvia uh we continue to step up Canada is a solid reliable partner engaged and destroyed Canada is leading and helping build the NATO Brigade in lvia but that may no longer be enough to stem criticism from a possible second Trump Administration or European allies who feel increasingly threatened by Russia new figures from NATO however highlight the disconnect and show Canada sixth from the bottom in terms of the NATO 2% metric Canada's former ambassador to Nato is Carrie buck and we're the only Ally the lone Ally that sits in that quadrant of Shame where we don't either meet the 2% of GDP spent on defense Target and we don't meet the target R of 20% of our defense spending on uh research and development and Equipment procurement so it hits us politically it makes us a Target when the whole Alliance is rowing towards this goal of 2% because they recognize that the world is a more dangerous place and then there's Canada sitting there not doing that the last time Canada spent 2% of its GDP on defense was when the Cold War was really frosty in the mid to late 1980s to reach that goal today the Parliamentary budget office says the government of Canada would need to spend an additional 18.2 billion do annually bringing the defense budget to $64 billion or more so has Canada's insistence on NATO being a political form come back to bite us we won't get kicked out of NATO but when you make a point at the North Atlantic Council table your voice carries less weight because you need to put your money money where your mouth is it's not like the federal government doesn't understand the argument Christie Freeland put it this way when she was foreign minister back in 2017 to rely solely on the US security umbrella would make us a client State and although we have an incredibly good relationship with our American friends and neighbors such a dependence would not be in Canabis interest that is why doing our fair share is clearly necessary neither the Liberals nor the conservatives have committed to a clear plan to meet NATO's goal saying Canada will work towards the 2% Target fuzzy language that stands in contrast to the words and deeds of 75 years [Music] ago well NATO says 22 members now meet that threshold of spending 2% of GDP on defense compared to only seven members just two years ago but at The Summit in Washington NATO Secretary General yans stoltenberg said that that Benchmark is no longer just a Target it's now the bare minimum given the state of world affairs coming up one man alone in the ocean gets a surprise visit I'm 2 hours in now to roam with these thousands of whales how he rode his boat right through a swarming pot of Wales Next In Our [Music] Moment 4 days ago Tom wadington set off from Newland on an ambitious Adventure he's currently rowing solo all the way across the Atlantic Ocean while raising money for charity and yesterday he was visited by an enormous group of whales so many in fact that it actually became quite frightening so tonight Tom's epic experience is our moment I'm 2 hours in now to ro with these thousands of whales Tom mington is rowing solo and completely unsupported across the North Atlantic Ocean and he's doing that for for the charity mind which is a mental health charity it's an Incredible video that that Tom's managed to send back via satellite to us and I've never seen anything like it come through this is so cool pod of pod of whales just coming around the Boat played around the boat the whales sort of built up around him he had sort of you noticed one and then there was 10 20 and in the video you can see that that one does really hit the boat really hard he didn't sustain any damage the boat just sort of lurched over to the side then they built in number until there was Tom estimates you know over a thousand whales around him and the whole sea seemed to be boiling with with whales it's pretty wild and that continued for a full two hours but eventually they they faded off and and they went about their about their way they they sort of seem to have had their fun um since then Tom uh has been rowing for about 24 hours since that's happened and yeah making really good progress since then can't believe it it's an amazing site but also so scary amazing indeed Tom was mainly concerned about the animals hitting and damaging in his Rudder but the vessel is fine no damage and Tom if you ever get to see this on the national just know that we're rooting for you stay safe well from all of us here at the national thank you for being with us you can watch anywhere anytime on the free CBC News app And
