what's going on guys so I just wanted to make a little video talking about what do you do if you sell a bike right now bike shops are just swamped it's a two-week wait to get a bike shipped out and then what I did was I called the local bike shop I've got a box from them that was big enough for this bicycle that I sold I bought this for $10 at a goodwill it's a Schwinn beautiful frame old-school style Schwinn bike and I just wanted to show you how I packaged it so I have bubble wrapped the frame I don't know if you want to come in so I bubble wrap the frame here some bubble wrap here I could not take the front wheel off because it had some kind of lock system on it but the back wheel I took off it fits into this box I'm gonna make a top for it and make sure it's completely safe and once I make the top I'm gonna tape everything really well and I used bike flights comm to ship this out and they actually give you pretty good prices compared to FedEx and UPS you log into bike flights comm you can create an account and you print out a label they want one label on the side and then one label on the top I think just watch their YouTube video and make sure you know exactly where you want to put the label these are actually old labels from the bike shop but I'm gonna take them off or put a white piece of paper over it because you don't want it here so I'm gonna put the labels where they want it either on the side or on the top two in there one with the packaging and you got this bike right from the bike shop huh you got this bike this uh box from the bike shop yeah it's free right now the bike shop I would have them package it for me but it's a two equal uh they charge like a hundred bucks or maybe you can get it for fifty somewhere but it's a two week weight right now I all I had to do was take the touring rack off take the rear wheel off I had the tool to take the pedals off I took I had the bike shop removed the handlebar because you had to all those cranking tools and then the free charge you for that I was ten dollars so but they gave you a free box they just let you pick one out free box yeah I was kind of scared I used to not pick up bicycles at like goodwill in Salvation I would see Trek bikes quite often but you can sell it as is or you can sell just a frame and now that I know I can just go to my local bike shop and get a box and I can use bike fright calm bike flights combat flights calm now I might actually pick up that Trek bike or that touring bike that I see like even if it's 30 40 bucks there are some bytes that are probably worth a couple hundred or more I wasn't picking up but yeah I just wanted to show you guys that it's not that difficult the pedals I took off in like two minutes the back rack I took off in like two minutes the rear wheel I took off in a couple minutes yeah we wrapped everything Julie wrapped some stuff I wrapped some stuff I put the pedals in there I took some of the parts in there and now what I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna crumble paper like this to kind of package everything in there so it's nice and tight and doesn't move around and then I'm gonna probably make put like a long box here and then tape it together so there's not this empty gap space here and yeah I scheduled it to get picked up tomorrow UPS is actually they're using their their service uses ups UPS is going to come in pick it up I don't have to take it anywhere and I think it's gonna be in Michigan like the next day so pretty easy pretty simple to ship big stuff like that and again if you're looking to make that extra money with bigger bigger items go for it because I've kind of regret not picking up you know like we've seen good bikes plenty of the time gradually and yeah got this one sold it did take me a while before when I sold like higher-end bikes I would always have it generally package and all that but like now I'm not I'm not afraid to do it myself so I hope this video is helpful do you sell bikes have you shipped a bike yourself yeah let me know in the comments guys and thank you for watching if you enjoyed this kind of video give it a thumbs up and feel free to subscribe so thanks a lot
