How to create outlook signature
today we're talking about NDA's what are they and what does it mean to sign ones let's picture this you get a phone call from an amazing potential client hello you like my work and you want to work with me is have to sign an NDA yeah no problem they say they love your work and they want to work with you but all I have to do is sign an NDA before they can share anything quickly and then they send you the NDA NDA is a non-disclosure agreement or as I call sometimes never discuss anything signing an NDA is both great and terrible at the same time a 15 pages legal document which outlines detail by detail how you can't share this project how you can't hear the information how you can reference it how you can't use it in your real you can't discuss it with your colleagues how you can't share it socially and just goes on and on and on you finish a project it gets released out of the wild you can talk about it it's a great experience you can share it you can reference it you can put it in your real if you get permission but other times I've worked on projects where I can't talk about it even to this day so let me give you an example over the last three and a half years I have worked with Tony Robbins Stephen Hawking Odie and a few other people that I can't really talk about most of them are straightforward and benign like that we're just don't talk about the project with anyone great no problem but I received a few documents that are NDA's but also non-compete documents and they're buried within meaning that not only can you not talk about it you can't do similar work it gets very very specific like I can't use the tools that I use on other projects because they find that it's a conflict of interest there's a couple of scenarios where I actually have to send it back saying I can't sign this because it's literally saying that I can't work for the next two years on anything similar to this but I mean similar I mean like it was like a video production that's how generic they wanted me to agree to those are the things that you need to watch out for read the document make sure it doesn't hinder you from doing any other work that is similar in nature but without revealing anything have a lawyer look it over documents are built in a way to protect the company that you're working for so if you don't like something cross it out flag it I've signed a few documents where they actually state that they'll be checking the social media accounts they'll be following periodically checking in on what you are doing what you're sharing checking your website checking your feed to make sure that you're not showing any of this stuff and if you do there are heavy heavy penalties the biggest thing with NDA's and getting work moving forward is that you don't share any of this stuff that's how you build trust I can't talk about any of the companies that I've worked with which is fine because there are so many companies that I have worked with that are amazing and I can talk about them really the whole thing is know what you're getting into when you sign an NDA a lot of times is gonna be an amazing experience but you're not gonna be able to share it with anybody and sometimes that may include your media family your your parents your wife your kids again read the document make sure that it is in line with what you're willing to do you're gonna have a great time you're gonna have a great experience just know if you do sign an NDA it could mean the difference between having a great reel and having a reel that looks like this and that's been the last three and a half years my life I have this really big gap in my work I can't show it I can't talk about am I on my real I can't really talk about the processes that I'd done I can't share any of that kind of stuff cuz it's all under NDA was it worth it oh yeah it was fantastic I got to work with some of the most amazing people some of the best clients some of the best experiences that I can remember and it was amazing getting the travel getting to experience things that nobody was going to know about now these are projects that will eventually come out but I can't even really talk about that I was part of them which is fine the fact that I was part of it was amazing so signing the NBA it was the right choice for me and now that I'm back into the freelance world it does pose a big challenge because I have to reference to work done three and a half years ago and before as my hey this is what I'm capable of doing I can talk about my skills I can talk about what I'm capable of doing but I can't show any of it in that sense it's really hard to convince someone hey I'm the right person for this job because look at my portfolio I don't have a portfolio that is up to date I have to rebuild a lot of that I have to work on my own personal projects I have to rebuild client relations I have to rebuild some of the relationships that I had with clients that I walked away from and looking for new clients and again it's about communicating what you're good at what you're what you want to work on and creating that atmosphere that you want to do so was it worth it it was fantastic was it hard stepping away from that and moving to toward something that I wanted to create I wanted to share I wanted to do this yes and I'm experiencing that but at the same time actually excited about it because I get to explore all new avenues that I haven't explored before like this one coming back onto you to coming back and sharing my experiences sharing my thoughts on specific things I love doing that and the fact I had to get rid of a lot of my contents before a lot of stuff that I wanted to talk about is refreshed I have experienced I've grown I'd and I've learned so many different things and I'm here one to share from those experiences there's so many things that I wish people knew that I wish more people knew and so I want to share some experiences that are great for workflows that are great for beating on set that are great for post-production that really really worked for me and that made stuff efficient now that I get to share least those things it feels like it was worth it on another level this is the one thing I do get to talk about so I'm gonna go with that I'm gonna experience it and share with you you guys let me know if you like any of this stuff there's anything specific you like me to talk about I don't know what you guys are interested in I know what I'm interested in and I want to share those experiences with you if you like it let me know give me a big thumbs up if there's any techniques there's free production production or post-production let me know right now I'm glad to be back glad to be sharing this but to be sharing my experiences having fun I'll talk to you guys soon okay
