foreign first tell us a little bit about your journey and the Cavalry team's Journey on how you landed up with affinity analytics so we started working with affinity about four years ago with the idea to improve our relationship management so very basically um and in the first place it was really about mapping and understanding the relationships that we do have because we didn't do this like in a structured manner so I think this was the first step um and then obviously I mean early stage has become and is still becoming more and more competitive right and furthermore we as a firm entered our third fund generation so we're now around since 2016 and have collected a critical amount of data we saw the opportunity to get a Competitive Edge by using this data and I'd say you don't need to reinvent the wheel to become excellent in early stage investing it's rather about really um excel in the few things that matter which I'd say are three things first of all you need to get the relevant deals into your D flow secondly you need to decide for the right opportunities to invest to and then thirdly you need to manage excellence in both of these categories while scaling so I guess in the context of relationship intelligence and relationship data what type of answers were you and the team really looking to find in terms of get the relevant deals into your pipeline or into your D flow I'd say like first of all you really see who's the most valuable deal Source within your network so that's kind of a question that I ask if you sit down and you put some analytics on the portfolio shared by a certain person that you consider to be your most valuable resource it's really interesting what you um what you discover um and with regards to the second point that I mentioned which is deciding for the right opportunities answers that I'm looking for is like where did we decide right or wrong but then furthermore why did we decide that way and is there a certain pattern to this one example for me is like looking at my stuff and looking why I reject the deals in the past which turned out to be actually quite successful I saw a pattern okay this was also always like a certain sub-sector in an industry I turned this into like look if I look at an opportunity in that sector I should do more ref calls that resonates a lot to because you know all the customers I've had a chance to interact with one of the questions they do ask how about is say how do we better understand who are our top deal sources you know folks who refers good deals not just deals yeah right and so sounds like you've been able to accomplish some of those things with the analytics solution foreign
