hello my dear students today let's discuss about organization and management of sports event before we proceed to our lesson let me show you some pictures that is related to our topic the first pictures are this so what is in the picture yes as you can see in these two pictures these are sports events wherein there are players and also of these shots and the next picture [Music] correct it is the same as the first slide that i've showed you so these are sports events and there are athletes and officials so what is the relation of these pictures to our topic surely there are sports people everywhere where in school office or community people enjoy sports activities such as intramurals aside from the fun showcase of talents and skills and having a break from work and school life a sports event is also a good venue to develop camaraderie and good relationship among peers in almost every school and big companies in the country intramurals are commonly held to foster good bond among students teachers employees and staff and behind the successful sports events are the people who work hard and understand how to manage and organize these special events now let's define first what is organization and what is management first let's define what is organization when you say organization it is the structural planning of roles to implement necessary functions the total development of an individual is centered on a philosophically sound program structure and activities in organization it is the process of identifying and grouping work to be performed defining and delegating responsibility and authority and establishing relationships for the purpose of enabling people to work most effectively together in accomplishing objectives and when we say management it deals with the tasks and accountabilities to accomplish the objectives through cooperation it requires harmonious effort amongst members to fulfill the target objective it is also a key factor to success in any physical and sports education programs this involves collaboration of the administering body the participants of physical education class and other sports programs management involves long-term strategic plans and programs such as resources financial legal and safety management public relations and promotions importance of management number one assist individuals to realize their objectives or goals number two provides guidelines in the collaborative strengths of people number three defines the group's development efficiency and accomplish of goals and number four defines whether members within the group are contented cooperating and productive now what is the importance of management in sports event number one management gives a grasp and value to the essential ideas of the field's discipline number two understanding management helps an individual consider having a career in a certain field number three majority of physical educators do certain management work thus skills in management will provide better performance number four management is vital to collaborative effort number five a grasp of management facilitates continuity and number six management skills help foster good human relations so what are the functions of management management involves four major functions such as planning organizing leading and controlling when we say planning program strategies are laid out to achieve the desired outcome it includes processes such as forecasting developing objectives programming scheduling budgeting and formulating procedures after planning we have the organizing organizing aids in developing a group structure with definite scope of work for every member this includes the development of the organizational structure delegation of responsibilities and work and the relationship among individuals after organizing we have the leading it is directing the organization to motivate and empower individuals in carrying out the program leading includes decision making communication selection of people and enhancing performance of individuals and the last one is controlling controlling ensures proper plan execution within the goals of the organization it requires monitoring assessment evaluation and feedback which can lead to the engineering refraining or rewarding managers should continuously be in control of what is happening under his or her jurisdiction
