technology companies and hopefully throughout this uh quick presentation it's not going to take long throughout this quick presentation um we go through some important points that we need to keep in mind when um implementing um digital Technologies so um digital transformation sometimes refer to uh referred to as DX um it's basically adopting digital Technologies by by company so this is this is a very very basic uh and I think probably the simplest definition of digital transformation I've heard the goal is improve efficiency improve value and bringing in the Innovation so um with with this um I want to go a little bit further and talk about a concept that um kind of it works as an umbrella over the digital transformation and that is industry 4.0 so we are getting into an era that um digital systems are all around us and we are going to become perhaps one with these uh digital devices around us right um while uh class travel classroom um kind of coined this term industry 4.0 as a technological Revolution that is uh blurring the lines between the physical digital and biological sphere so that means we are all connected and we are connected with our software applications and we're connected to to the digital devices around us and if I ask many of you would you rather lose your cell phone for the rest of your life or one of your teeth I'm sure many people will feel more connected with their cell phones than than some of their teeth right so this this kind of shows that we are um some people would even prefer losing one finger than losing their cell phones and their internet connection so that that kind of shows us that now we are um we are totally connected to the devices to the digital world and it's it's quite difficult for us to separate our businesses from the initial word uh personal life from digital world and we are entering the air of industrial 4.0 so uh why industry four why not three why not two so these are the industrial revolutions that uh we have faced uh um 1780s with the introduction of steam power uh we entered the first Industrial Revolution then in 1870s uh with with the introduction of assembly Lines by Ford and um then very quickly in many other Industries we entered the Second Industrial Revolution where we had Mass Productions uh and um industrialization on 1970s we started to use robots uh in in manufacturing companies and um computers we're introduced it became an integrated part of our life and then today we are getting into uh the realm of AI and uh cyber physical uh systems which uh uh every day there are new Innovations in and we see we see them a lot these days especially after like Technologies like um large language models like church GPT and similar and Bard and similar Technologies now we are talking a lot more about that now um the the features that are important in this industry in this era are integration things are interconnected uh devices are connected to Internet uh devices then connected to each other through Internet devices are connected to software and then somehow devices are also connected to to uh to biological beings uh in farms um and in agriculture we see that in terms of things uh sensors everything is going to get and data is being transferred um over internet to other places and then we also even see it in healthcare and in biological biomedical Sciences so um the other thing is that Innovation Innovation is really um changing the face of what we are doing every year you see radical image radical moves uh we see um big Innovations coming into the uh play and um it's it it looks like we are quickly moving to a different way of life and um the the lifestyle is changing all together now the the technical technologies that are being used in this era are like visual reality augmented reality these are things that are being used uh a lot and are going to be used even more in the future and additive manufacturing like 3D printing and so instead of like storing real farts and pieces uh you basically uh uh or just storing data and then whenever necessary you print whatever you want in a with a 3D printer um then you have Internet of Things Those sensors that are connect connecting everything to everything and then uh these days especially even farms and um uh your fridge and everything is basically potentially connected to to internet um then you have big data which well uh enable the law of technologies that we are using today so companies like us we use on their eight been sensitive um difficult to maintain computers on premise anymore you can have them on cloud and other companies managing it for you and that that makes the moving digital much much more affordable for all of the companies um and uh potentially everybody's using stronger and um more advanced computers and then you have advanced simulations which are being used in pharmaceutical companies right now all around the world in many in auto manufacturing um and instead of like trying things physical we basically have the digital twin of everything and then we're trying things on computer in like thousands of times faster than trying them uh in in the real world and then we just use the result of those simulations and then um a few more like autonomous uh machines uh autonomous cars are soon on the roads and my prediction is that uh perhaps in the next 10 years we reach a point that uh driving car for human will be illegal and then only machines are allowed to drive machines because that will be safer all right right now it's not safe or it's still being tested but once it is safer for machines to drive themselves autonomously and perhaps even uh this is not not my predictions many people are predicting the same thing uh that uh driving for human is going to be illegal on the roads perhaps there are like some special areas that people people can experience driving like the race cars are today and then um of course AI that uh uh uniform that we are seeing today GPT is taking over in like uh uh Auto GPD and other language models but of course there are other AI models that are not as famous now but they are also gradually uh reaching to a point that they can create their own revolutions and uh drones of course in especially in supply chain Amazon has already started uh using it uh using drones in delivery some cities like New York are using um drones even to deliver pizza right so it's becoming a part of our day-to-day life and uh while connectivity 5G 6G and um mobile connectivity is also making our life much much easier so now with all of that uh going back to the digital transformation which is probably the one that is most felt in the indoor industry level uh we are mainly focused on digital transformation on operations manufacturing supply chain basically inside our business practices right so to me what is really really important about digital transformation when it comes to businesses is how this can improve our decision making based on accurate data right as many of you know we have an effect in supply chain we call it bullet effect which means a small fluctuation on the customer side creates larger and larger and larger fluctuations in the levels of the business that gets closer and closer to the Upstream so when it comes to suppliers we feel a huge fluctuation when there's a small fluctuation on the customer side similarly manufacturers will feel a huge fluctuation in their demand and their supply in their supply chain altogether and of course in their operation and then Distributors and retailers and then customers so we saw the extent of this when when kovit came there was a fluctuation on the consumer side and then that fluctuation uh basically disrupted the whole uh supply chain and everything kind of got a lot because uh the economic effect on the other supplier side and that that was why we we have so much supply chain issue right now if you order a car you have to wait for a year or so to to be able to get it the new ones but it was like two to three months before a lot of agricultural products were basically destroyed because they could not uh distribute them in the reform supply chain during the covet time so we we felt uh the extent of this effect during the covet and what digital transformation thing can do for us is to better connect the two ends of the supply chain which means that will enable the decision makers to make decisions based on the fluctuations on the consumer side to minimize this um increasing um effect of the fluctuations on their side on the manufacturing side retail side distributed side and supply side so um if you look at other benefits of the uh digital transformation uh Studies have shown that it can make our operations up to 30 percent or sometimes even more faster and um it can cut our cost by 25 how does it do that it's basically easy when you imagine um you don't have to enter the same data multiple places that will reduce the potential for human errors human errors are responsible for something you know like 20 of unwanted operation uh disruption uh all around the world so um just imagine that you don't have to I was talking to a client uh the other day their problem was the handwriting of the of their person who was the person who was on the operation side was so bad that the accountant could not read and that was the cause of some of the problems that they had and they were looking for a way to help the the operation guy instead of like writing some now there's this item that is RW so yeah things like this um um and and much more examples I'm sure all of you are doing operations in a way that you have seen Paper Wars disrupt a lot of the business processes if you have any kind of uh auditor uh from government side from ISO site from third party site you know that every time there's a there's an auditor a few days nobody's doing anything everybody's trying to prepare everything for the auditor to come and make sure everything is fine so that can be minimized to a couple of clicks if you have the right right system in place right and uh shuffling through the papers uh or or searching Excel for us um not knowing which Excel files contains what takes a lot of time when you're looking for a simple equipment or or uh the simple due date of some for something but having the right systems in place not only you don't have to search you will receive an alert when there's a due date for something for a repair for a maintenance for for a quality check for for for a document review and uh you will also be provided with the link to go there and quickly do whatever necessary to be done so um searching for information entering information uh getting the info basically retrieving the information you want and then Distributing the information you need will be much much faster so digital transformation can help you save money and um be more more productive um among different Industries we can see that Aviation of course is Pioneer in uh implementing digital transformation and it goes down to construction Manufacturing Services oil and gas um retail is so we we have many companies on the retail side also uh joining this uh league and basically everybody is getting used to digital transformation so once that was basically a luxury but now it's becoming a commodity if you don't have uh digital systems proper digital systems not just Excel files proper digital systems in place you're behind the competition and your competitors will have more efficiency they'll spend less money on doing exactly what you do that means you either have to charge your clients more or you'll be behind in operations you cannot capture the capacity of the market so um when we move forward we see that there are seven layers to digital transformation so when we talk about digital transformation some companies think that oh okay I buy a system then I'm digitally transport no digital transformation starts from the manager's mindset and that is where managers use console importance um managers use um experts uh to to get educated so using digital transformation must become a part of companies culture and moving away from paperworks moving away from um sharepoints and I don't know Excel files this must be a part of the identity of the organization must be in the DNA of the organization one example is that if something is submitted on paper nobody should be comfortable accepting it but this is the type of culture that can increase your efficiency and reduce your costs and then sometimes having digital transformation will help you even to re-evaluate your business models and come up with new processes that can accelerate your business growth right and the whole organization can be formed around the digital transformation some some of the things that digital transformation in place the process has really been improved and um so on and so forth so leadership must build up capacity and infrastructure must be aligned with digital transformation so when you think about digital transformation it it actually doesn't start from purchasing your software like our software or any other software it actually starts from uh the leaders education and what could be the potentials the the benefits of digital transformation and also commitment from the management to make sure the whole organization is collaborating in implementing the digital transformation otherwise basically it's going to be a waste of money right but when you have that mindset then quickly you can save 20 30 extra every year and Roi will be far beyond um uh the expenditure that you have on the investment that you have on digital transformation systems right so the problem is well uh most of the digital system most of the erps that are uh invest is too much for most of the companies even in North America we're relatively uh the the income of companies is are higher in dollars still 95 of the companies are small size companies um and medium to small size companies and they cannot basically afford systems like sap or and Oracle those are great systems but they're not made for everybody even big organizations who already have sap and Oracle cannot afford to have those systems for all of their um departments so you can see that A system that half of it is implementing um digital because they say okay the system that we implemented for half of the company is too expensive to to implement uh in the whole company uh but there are systems like RTM Tech Erp um where we focus from the beginning to implement the system with smes in mind so when we were designing the system we had smes in mind we had their difficulties in mind we we had this understand because we we ourselves are coming from a semi-community right so we have this in mind that they cannot afford millions of dollars every year on implementing the system training this is uh people to use the system and maintaining the system so we needed to find a solution to make it to minimize these costs and make it feasible for uh small medium-sized companies and when I say small medium-sized companies I don't mean very very small companies we have clients from like five five employees to to clients who have like something around um 200 or to 500 employees with uh more than 10 000 sometimes uh hundreds of thousands of items in their record right so we we are talking about MIDI North American Standards is considered large organizations in some in some places but still it's expensive to implement a million dollar uh systems so what we did we moved to cloud computing so we moved to uh SAS model where every company can start small they don't have to have strong computer systems in place in their own facilities any computer with internet connectivity can can do the job and you can smart you can start small and then scale gradually so as your company grows you can buy more modules you can add to the number of the users you can Implement more functionalities but in the beginning you don't you don't have to spend a lot of money and then the other thing is that we we made sure that the system that we create is easy to learn because we know that SMS don't have too much money for training their staff too much time for training this stuff so the design had to be included and then easy to use and learn because we know that well people come and go in in the companies and you cannot afford to uh spend too much time and too much money on training every new stuff that comes to your company so uh with this I'm going to um move to question and answers uh uh I'm trying to um be considered of the time because uh I think we have I don't know another like 10-15 minutes uh if there is any question me uh from me or from Mr Banger please go ahead uh we'll be more than happy to answer the questions all right thank you so much uh for that very brief and the very informative presentation I think he covered the scope of um you know um of digital transformation uh we are not trying to perceive you know um advertise products here even though I mean we have answers to um every question in terms of implementation about you know any company that wants to embark on digital uh on the digital Journey so uh so I would like to ask if anyone uh I would like to ask a question uh you can some of the people that registered even though we have not seen all of them there are some people sending requests conversation today but but I want to give opportunity of their questions before I go to the few questions I have uh we're also very conscious of the time for you know for executive year so that we don't uh go beyond the mark of one hour in fact we actually want to stop maybe about 10 minutes time all right so is there anyone that has uh that wants to ask a question yes oh okay uh I think someone is trying to ask okay Mr EK are you speaking I saw that your yes I wanted to ask you a question my name is like MD of uh Superior Pharmaceuticals um my question is regarding the the program we're using now to monitor uh the sales uh track um what updates I you guys seems that um the our employees sometimes try to undermine the program and then with this AI that everybody is talking about are you guys able to use it to uh Crush our data and give us a report in a format that we can understand and use it to grow our business okay yeah all right okay I think that question is very specific to the person that just asked the question is an MD of a company that is already using our Salesforce automation yes um I'll answer yes to your questions um um so I think I also borrow a bit from what uh Ami said the other time about culture I think maybe we didn't do enough of education for people to understand the direction of the company in adopting uh the reasons for adopting technology I think a lot of people a lot of sales people in Nigeria think that uh this technology is to arrest them from their ways okay so I think maybe the process was not well sold um you know so that the processes of undermining are there and then of course just like you have said the process of integrating with analytical tools are also possible so these are things that we can discuss and I I don't think we can exhaust the conversation here um so but I think it's also important from uh what I mean is talking about the acting Tech Erp can also add a lot of value to the back end operation the supply chain ordering of products uh Warehouse movements and then if you also involved in any form of Park region you know maybe you have raw materials that you get into the warehouse and all of that so the attentive Erp uh can actually also help to optimize that and that can also flow into the front end which is the sales operation so everything that you have asked for um I can take up the conversation with you off uh offline here so that we can look at the specifics of uh what you would like to have in addition to the current solution that you have but I would also like you to look at the opportunities that we can have with acting Tech this is a very interesting application that we have looked at modular I mean you can increase the kind of functionalities that you want and then it can actually help you to manage your ordering system from your suppliers where you can integrate with them where you can lab history of of your of your orders that you have taken from you know different suppliers where you can have triggers that can tell you such productives and you can also mean you can even automate your orders you know those kind of things so those are the interesting things that are coming from attentive that we believe will also be very useful to uh Superior Pharmaceuticals thank you very much um do we have any other person uh we are looking to close in about five minutes okay yes please Mr candy can you go ahead and ask your question good afternoon yes good afternoon thank you thank you very much we really appreciate the discussion and uh I think I've played one or two things from the discussion but my question continued to be most SME they cannot from my experience because uh my own area of specialization is setting up accounting system for SME majority of their they keep on telling you they cannot afford application for their assistant marketing so most of the time we have to improvise from accounting system how do we address this okay um okay uh I can probably have an input and because we we have uh Partners uh similar to ostrich all around the world and this is not a local problem all around the world we have we face this uh question uh from our partners and what I would say is that um when you think about systems there are systems that are like in accounting you see you know for example uh QuickBooks right that that is in that is an account system that starts from like uh you can you can even find deals with like 15 20 dollars a month right or sometimes even less than that so um if a company cannot afford to pay twenty dollars a month or 15 a month uh then probably they are too small to to move digital right they can continue using whatever they're using sometimes Excel files and stuff like that but as soon as a company starts to grow then Excel fast will be confusing and the time that is there spent you see per hour they're made they're paying their stocks and every hour that they're paying the staff to be confused searching among paperworks and double entering the data redundant data entry and um searching Excel files plus the errors and problems that they happen as soon as you have like multiple Excel files you have to rethink your business processes that makes sense but before that if you're too small if you cannot afford to pay twenty dollars or fifty dollars a month then probably you're not at that stage but then there is a stage that you start to use as smes erps up to a point that you can so for for example somebody's using our system they're paying something between um less than 1000 less than 100 a month up to like few thousand dollars a month right so that is that is the range but then uh that the company might even outgrow systems like ours that is the time that a company would have thousands of employees and then they're spending millions of dollars every year right so that the gap between using papers using Excel using um small SME erps cloud-based SAS erps and then using very large erps so you can think about this as a stages right and well I would suggest if you're looking for customers to move them digital um qualifying the leads would be a key if a customer is too small if their operations is like maybe a hundred dollars 200 few hundred dollars a month probably they are not still at a stage that they can pay uh maybe ten dollars fifteen dollars twenty dollars fifty dollars hundred dollars a month for to use anything to use it but if a company is large enough to pay to pay maybe a couple of hundred thousand dollars a year then again they're not using Excel they shouldn't use Excel because the waste of time in their system is far beyond the money that they're spending for for the year so we we need to gauge it probably the sales team would be the key to qualify the right customers for the right systems I would say thank you yeah I think that is very instructive um so yeah I mean it's good to have for everyone like I wrote in one of my um you know uh posts I said um you know I was expecting the person to join us today he says uh you don't use a sledgehammer to kill an ant okay you're trying to solve a problem and Aunt is perching on something that you don't want and then you go look for a sledgehammer that's too expensive you know so um so we know that organizations are in sizes so the idea is for organizations to uh adopt things that will not become a burden to them all right in the name of adopting technology so we can't see I mean if you have an organization I mean the idea is that when these businesses are outgrowing whatever level they have they will know it they will begin to have too many problems at their hands that they know that technology can solve so that's what we are trying we just realized that a lot of organizations can also stuck at that level because they don't know which direction to go they don't know which Technologies to uh you know to adopt and then they are afraid of the course whereas just like you said there are you know costs that are still very very variable that will also help the organization to be more efficient they will allow them to make more money and then they can also go for the bigger ones if they store desire you know later in the course of the business so I think that is so do we have anyone I think that this point would like to because uh Dr harambe will need to join another meeting you know in about five minutes okay so do we have any question uh and that would be the last I'm not sure I'll be able to take all the questions that I have on the list uh even though the uh probably have been taking care of somehow I mean one of the questions was like um let me quickly read how do one structure startup business for digital transformation right from onset uh doctor let me just learn the questions together one how do one structure startup businesses for digital transformation right from onset then two how do we leverage technology to perform seamlessly in our business I think you've uh you know said a lot about that then how do I know more about digital marketing oh that is not well it's part of it but I think you can't know much about digital marketing here you have to go for a course uh you have to register for you know any course there are three courses that will tell you a lot about digital marketing and there are paid courses too but I think you should just answer the first question how do one structure a startup business from onset you know for digital you know you want to adopt technology from day one so if you can just spend a minute to do that uh Dr Orlando yes uh well again it's a very good question coming from a person who already has a digital mindset so that's that's good that's congratulations most of the uh CEOs even in large companies don't have that kind of mindset right but they want when you start that the best thing to think about is to uh to map your business processes so do not start from digital system start from mapping your business processes what are the things that you do even if it's on a paper through a nice small diagram what is my workflow in that workflow on at every step what are the documents that I'm creating what are the information that I I'm gonna need right so that will give you a blueprint of the digital systems that you use and then depending on your budget you can talk to Consultants who are experts like Mr Binga right that the people who are experts in digital systems and they would give you the best recommendation they'll say okay this is your budget these are your business processes that's very essential to have those business processes um in place even I say even it's a hand drawing on a piece of paper that's that's all okay make sure you you're clear about that and you're clear about the information that you store at each of the stages and the information that you use in each of the decision makings then present it to somebody who's expert in the digital transformation error area and then they will tell you what are the best systems to start doing uh but it really depends on your business processes and your budget and the extent of your operation all right thank you so much um do we have I saw someone Charlie intelligently are you trying to speak to us or we can just um round up everything now all right um so uh to save doctor uh around the time for to get ready for his next meeting I know you just have a few seconds to do that all right so I want to thank everyone that has taken time to join us uh this afternoon um yes we are going to have sorry I started recording late I I didn't even have my facts on on the recording but I think uh the most important part from uh so thank you so much everyone um let me just end on this note that it is safe to embark on the digital journey and just like it closed um all you need to do is to look at your processes okay um I'm safe to say that there are certain processes that still has to go manually you have to talk to people manually you have to enjoy engage people manually if you have to do that in the office all right so digital journey is sweet it can be efficient it can be cost effective so thank you so much everyone for joining us this afternoon I will look forward to seeing you again and I wish you all the best and please reach out to us if you need any help in embarking on this very uh productive Journey thank you so much everyone and have a pleasant rest of the day thank you for organizing this event bye-bye yes have a good one bye
