hey bear so I'm sitting here in the entry room of our guest suite I was trying to find a quiet place to do this video for you and yet have the background be something that's visually appealing and have not not me in shadow cuz I was trying to show you the beautiful scenery of Sedona Arizona but then I was in shadow and that wasn't very helpful either so so you get the entry room - I guess sweet so let's make this pretty quick for you I've been having a lot of conversations lately about human resources and why I think that is marketing we've signed on with LinkedIn profile if you don't know what that is like we could talk about that in a different video or offline if you wish and I've been getting a lot of requests for career counseling and also from small business owners who are looking to make a hire or make a change or you know having an issue perhaps with the personnel so I try to when I have those conversations I try to remind them that it's marketing it may be a target market of one right maybe you only want to talk to that one employee or your hiring manager or the HR person that you're interviewing with but its marketing your resume is marketing your cover letter is marketing it's a marketing piece your marketing you for your ideal next role so that's that's my postulation I will say I did not come to this automatically when I started my career as a human resources professional I was really focused on the legalities the things that make up HR laws and how to stay compliant and all of those things are absolutely important and pertinent or all of that but what I didn't realize at the time was how much marketing was in in it not just when I was putting an ad out obviously if you're an employer and you're putting an ad out that also is a marketing piece and we tend to forget that we when were when a small business tends to put an ad out they tend to focus on all of the things that they need right what are all those little details rather than what's gonna speak to their ideal employee right not a candidate we don't want the perfect candidate we don't want some of the interviews great but isn't actually really good at the job right we really want an ideal employee even if they don't interview all that great if they're gonna be awesome in the city right that's far more important so in fact I might postulate especially for the small business owner that it might be better right maybe we want them to be really good at their job but not really great at interviewing because if they're looking to go someplace else maybe they're not so good at interviewing we don't lose them so quickly but that's different story so all that to say I want you to think about this as marketing it's a marketing piece you're whether you're putting a job whether you're a small business owner and you're you're trying to list your job it's a marketing piece if you're an employee or a consultant if you're a freelancer and you are putting your resume or your LinkedIn profile together it's a marketing piece you want to speak to your ideal client your prospective employer that sort of thing so if you want help with that then by all means and reach out to us you could send an email to info at you loft creative comm and this video is going to be part of a blog so yeah if you're catching the video without the blog in the description is probably the blog and if not if you're catching it just somehow magically without the blog go to you love creative comm yul oh ffs creative comm go to the blog and you'll find the link to the email and all of that stuff will be in there to make it really easy so you don't have to worry so much about the misspelling that right I do that right there you go so your Human Resources is marketing most the time bye for now
