i'm gonna reverse engineer the ultra simple funnel that high ticket gurus charge thousands to teach you how to create yourself and when it comes to funnels i am no amateur as evidenced by that clickfunnels award that is sitting over my shoulder on the wall there i have used this funnel myself to also sell services coaching agency consulting type of services so let's jump into it and we're going to start with none other than the guru of gurus sam ovens so let me pull up sam ovens page here here's sam evans and let's go into his page and then go down to ads transparency where we can see his ads and effectively jump into his funnel so here's his ads and just a little side note unrelated to the funnels we'll notice his copy where he's blatantly saying this is a paid ad its purpose is to get your attention and you'll notice some other kind of big name gurus are kind of doing this type of thing right now and it works for them it works for them that is key it works for them because they're so well branded and everyone knows who they are anybody in the digital marketing space that has done one inkling of research knows who sam evans is and there's a couple others out there doing the same thing so when they see it they're like oh my god a sam evans ad let's see how it is oh my god look at how creative his copy is that's so awesome i want to check it out right there's some other gurus that do it and basically say this is an ad and i want you to buy from me right frank curran is another one that kind of has taken that same approach lately and again works for him because he's such a large name that does not mean this style of ad is going to work for you and i do suggest following a more traditional ad approach of pain i have a solution by going here right so anyways let's click on one of these ads and let's get to the landing page that's what we're going for and here we go so first step is essentially an ad and now we're at this landing page where you know he's promising that he's going to show you how to grow an online course business that produces profits in all seasons for a long time without gimmicks without selling your soul without a team running the day to day so you can focus on the work you love learn boom opt-in okay so let me open up zoom and kind of start mapping this out and i'm going to use zoom because i want to use the whiteboard feature in there that i am very horrible at using so please bear with me on that so let me open up zoom problem one i cannot find zoom on my computer all right here's zoom and i'm gonna use the draw tool as i said i'm atrocious with this right so step one is essentially an ad and step two is an opt-in move my little drawing tool up here to be more convenient step two is an opt-in all right so add text opt in okay and we will draw a little arrow between these steps we'll do that okay so there's the first part of this funnel right now we're gonna opt in put in our name and email address and boom we are at some video okay so this is where he's teaching us he's teaching us essentially everything that was on the page that came before right so he's promising he's going to teach us all this and we're going to learn it now here's the video showing it and i'm just going to call this the value video builds trust builds credibility establishes expertise teaches you how to do whatever the promise was not doing too well with the strong tool here we're just going to leave that little uh kind of error up there so now we got a value video value video now let's go back to his page and nothing has popped up i'm looking for something to pop up down here maybe he wants us to play it so we're going to play it and i'm going to cut all this out because we need to see something to pop up what's the next step in this funnel aha now we're at the end of the video and i did this by jumping ahead you can either do this by jumping ahead or waiting but now a button pops up and it says let's talk right okay so let's see where this takes us by the by the indication of let's talk i'm going to guess this is going to go to a scheduling page and looking at the url it does right so boom this looks like a simple it's a very simple calendly page okay so next step in the funnel is schedule a call and finally um you know because we can't see it here but if we went through and scheduled a call then what would happen is there would be an actual sales call this is sometimes called a strategy call a discovery call it's really called a sales call but it is a sales call boom so these are all the key steps in the actual funnel moving one right along now if you've done internet marketing for any period of time or tried building a funnel you will know that very few people come in and say oh my god there's an ad oh cool i'm going to opt in uh great awesome video i want to schedule a call and now i'm on the call yes nobody really does that right as a marketer you have to move people through the funnel okay so let's talk about how you can do this this is kind of hard to see unless we sign up for his email list uh you know look at all of his ads both of them and see what happens but here is fundamentally what you will see so let me draw some more arrows and let's change the color on this let's go down here boom right what you need to do and what a funnel does uh with other you know remarketing and email marketing is take people to the steps right so somebody comes and they land on the opt-in page but they don't make it to the value video in other words they don't opt in what are you gonna do all right what are we going to do this is what we're going to do to take them to that next step well if they didn't opt in we don't have an email address so all we can do is retarget them all right so retargeting right now somebody opts in and they make it to the value video they get here but they don't schedule a call well what do we do with this case so going from here to here we can also retarget them again that's something you should be doing retargeting and then you can also email them saying hey schedule a call schedule a call schedule a call i lost the zoom on my screen boom right there right now somebody schedules a call and if you've ever done sales calls you'll know that very few people that schedule a call actually show up and my numbers have been abysmal with it um so you have to take steps to get the person onto the sales call well what do you do here you can do email you can do sms text message another thing i'd like to do is a manual call to confirm just saying hey you know we've got you on the calendar for a zoom call tomorrow just wanted to make sure that's all in line okay you know well be prepared have your computer open and make sure that you're in a quiet area and that is really all there is to it and there are gurus out there that are charging thousands and thousands of dollars to fundamentally teach you what they know how to do and if you reverse engineer it like what we're doing you'll see that many of them are running a funnel very similar to this so on that note guys if you have any questions drop them in the comments somewhere
