hey how are you making a quick video here on a topic coming up pretty frequently ams versus a crm what's the difference between the two i will you know explain the difference between the two and why they're important for you and for your agency so let's do it [Music] so first and foremost i just want to say this for the record because i feel like uh it's come up in my head and it's a question that comes up often um so i just really feel that the insurance industry in general is just like crazy behind on technology which is kind of mind-blowing because it's such a big industry like there's billions and billions of dollars in the insurance industry and the fact that it's like these just to be real like these systems are all kind of like outdated honestly and kind of uh not as efficient as i would love them to be uh you know there's it's just behind i feel like i'm working on like dinosaur platforms sometimes so that being said i'll explain the difference between the two an ams uh an agency management system that's what it stands for is basically a home for all the policies that you have in your agency so you work with a bunch of different companies and they need to be stored in one centralized place which is your management system it holds the customer name address date of birth phone numbers emails policy numbers i might already said that policy like effective date expiration date premiums commissions it'll just keep it all in one place so that you can pull reports and you can see an overview of your customers and if somebody calls in you can immediately pull up their information versus having to go to that company directly or that company directly to find their information you just type in like their name and management system boom their name pops up boom okay you have like this policy with this company this policy with that company this policy of that company and you can tell them all pretty quickly another cool thing about that is certain carriers not all of them have automatic downloads into the com to the management system depending on which management management system and company it is they have direct download so 24 hours in they'll do an automatic download which will pull policy information into the management system so you don't have to manually enter people's info and policy numbers and stuff which is a bit tedious and that's not always that's not that fun to do so that's good stuff so i'll talk about the crm the difference between the two the crm also kind of works very similar to an ams a management system what a crm stands for is a customer relations manager or management i believe that's the name it's something like that it's a customer relations essentially it's more built for still kind of contains all that information the customer's information like first name last name email phone number address blah blah blah policy what type of policy etc the only difference is this one is a little more tailored to getting actual you know you know getting generating more business retaining business keeping uh yeah you know customers happy essentially hence the name customer relations manager uh so that one's a little more geared towards the actual um you know relationships and retention of your book versus the ams which is purely more for just actually storing the information of the customer there's definitely growth on both sides that are trying to make all-in-one like a crm ams kind of just together so there's companies out there doing it um so they're they're up and coming and honestly like i said i just cannot believe that the insurance industry is so behind on this stuff and shout out to a couple people out there um uh nick ayers i know that you're on that on that come up on the grind trying to really kind of innovate and trying to improve the game a bit so shout out to you guys and hopefully like that if it you know if the systems work like um and they they get you know to where they need to be we'll definitely look at moving stuff but um as of now it's just uh it's just it's mind-blowing that it's so far behind so i'm sure there's a lot of other agents out there that think the same way and and if you're in tech and uh yeah hopefully you can add some value to this space because it's just crazy so that's pretty much it i'll just uh that's a high-level view of what the ams does and then the crm does hopefully that kind of clarified the two you definitely i would just recommend this is my final thought here have the ams and you know have a crm as well but ams needs to come first you need to have that first because that's most important and then the crm is more for retention relations both work well but really the ams is what you should start with in my opinion so that was it um hopefully you guys like that give a like please and doing i'll do another giveaway on this video i keep doing the giveaways so in this one i will do also another free consulting call with me this one if you comment and like this video i will throw you in the mix to get a free consulting call with me one hour consulting call which is 149 on the website so if you want to get that going give us a like give us a comment please subscribe and we will throw you in the enter entering to win a free consulting call um hopefully that was helpful and please give us a like and we'll see you guys at the top talk to you guys soon and have a great day close some business close some deals we'll see you soon peace [Music]
