How to create outlook signature
Hi, my name is Esther Oluwagbenga. I'm a first year PhD student here of Department of Animal Sciences, Purdue University. My research area focuses on the transgenerational effect of heat stress in poultry, and my species of interest is Pekin ducks. Heat stress is a major threat to poultry production as a result of the rising temperature resulting from climate change and heat stress could induce epigenetics modification. So this alteration in gene expression can have a long term effect on the animal's physiology, immunity and even welfare. So we want to see how we can identify markers that can increase the tolerance of these poultry to heat stress. It feels good to be able to find a better way of maximizing the welfare of this animals, and that is one of my drives for doing this research.
