clients is really have you done this before show me your work do you have any clients that I can call as a reference these are the types of objections you're going to get there's no way around it it's going to happen so how do you overcome this look I was in the same boat as you just a few years ago and this is how we get it done and we've seen many students do this as well the first thing you need to do is get in the game you need to get some experience and you need to get it fast the very first thing I did is ask myself do I know any business owners is there anybody that I know that owns a business owner is there somebody in my network that I can reach out to and maybe do business with well unfortunately there wasn't I didn't have anybody in my network there wasn't a business owner in the family I was out of luck in that department but there are many ways that you can still go out and get experience and have zero Network so don't use that as an excuse because you can be wildly successful without a network of business owners so I lived in a small town at the time and I noticed there was a salon that opened up in town they didn't even have the storefront out yet at this point and I thought this would be a perfect business to reach out to so I reached out to him and in short I said hey you're a new business I'm a new business and I've been taking online classes to run social media marketing ads for small businesses and before I increase my retainer I'm looking to take on one to two businesses on a free trial basis my intention is to create a successful campaign for you so then I can go and Market that to get more clients and build up the foundation of my business I'll run the campaign for you free of charge all you need to do is pay a small amount in ad spend and I'll take care of the rest I'll run the ads I'll do the Creative I'll send you the leads and whatever you feel comfortable with whether it's 50 bucks 100 bucks whatever spend that in ad spend and I'll take care of the rest so they said yes we ran a simple giveaway campaign it was around the holiday time frame so we did shampoos conditioners it was like a whole package that people could win by and I had a lot of confidence to go into the marketplace and start pitching clients so two weeks later we landed a client for twenty five hundred dollars a month in a completely different Niche now we're not Advocates of doing free work in hopes to get paid but when you're first starting you're just getting into the game it's vital for you to get experience have a case study and build confidence in yourself and really confidence is built by competence in a particular skill set area so we want to build competence by having you actually go out and do the work get a free trial get some not you know it's tough to build trust in the beginning and this is a great way that you can build trust and get those deals over the hump if they don't want to continue paying you after the free
