Hey everyone, welcome back to another print on demand video. In today's video, I'm going to be showing you how to make your print on demand listings stand out from the competition. Now, over the last few years of selling print on demand t-shirts, I've learned a lot about how to make your listings stand out compared to the others. Now with that said, I have a couple steps that I'm going to show you on screen recording and here on camera on how you can kind of beat the system and make your listings stand out. So without further ado, let's go ahead and get right into this video. I'm excited to share this with you and I don't wanna waste any time. So essentially the problem here that makes it hard for your listings to stand out is when you create a listing and upload it to a print on demand platform that has a lot of other people selling in that same topic or niche. So when someone is trying to buy a product in that niche, it's hard to find yours because there's so many other people that you're listed next to. So there's three steps in this process of making your listings stand out. The first step is you have to find sub-niches. Essentially, what this is, is if you think about let's say baseball, that's a big, general, overall niche that's likely going to be oversaturated. But if you come down to sub-niches within baseball, you have all different types of people that could be buying shirts within that general niche. So things like baseball dads, or baseball moms, or Little League coaches, they are all sub-niches within baseball. That's where you want to focus. You can go to different print on demand platforms and type in all of those sub-niche ideas that you have, and just look to see if there's any competitors. If it's flooded with competitors, you probably don't wanna create designs there. If there are very few listings, then that's a good idea that it's probably low competition and that's a good sub-niche for you to use. So let's switch over to the computer here and we'll go through this part of the process. Now, simply to save you the most time, I'm just going to get into what tool that I specifically use for this. What I use is a tool here, it's called Merch Informer. You've probably seen it in my other videos. I've been using it for years now. And you just type in the general niche, it's going to tell you all of these sub-niches within it and if they are high or low competition. Now, for those of you who don't have Merch Informer, it's about $10 per month. All you need is the Newbie plan here. I have a coupon code from them for 20% off. So it brings you down to $8 per month, and they have a free trial, so you can get three days for free. So you can follow along in this video totally for free, you don't even need to sign up for a plan yet. So with that said, let me get signed in and I'll show you how to do this. Now, once you're logged into Merch Informer, come over to the left side, go to Keyword Research, and then go to Keyword Finder. Now all we have to do is type in different niche ideas and it'll tell us all the sub-niches within them. Now, for the example of baseball, we can start with that and I'll show you that in a second. But for those of you who are wondering what kind of niches do you type in here, how do you come up with these ideas? I made a video recently that goes over the seven niches that you can really find everything you need within. So I'll link up that video that you can watch afterwards. That'll just basically give you unlimited ideas to type in here. So just to see how this goes, let's type in baseball and let's see what kind of results we get. So looking at these results for baseball, essentially what we're looking at is we have the keyword on the left. We have the search volume on Amazon, the search volume on Google, and then we don't need to worry about cost per click because we're not doing any paid advertising. We're really looking at the competition. So we're looking for the ones that are low competition, meaning that if you create a design in that, you're not going to be competing with many other people. Now the big thing we're going to be looking for, some of these are going to be search terms or kind of phrases, we wanna be looking for the ones that are sub-niches, and I'll show you what I mean. So the first one here is baseballer. That could work, that's a keyword. Basically, we'd be creating designs about baseball and using the keyword or the terminology baseballer. Now looking at some of these baseballs, we really don't wanna go with anything here. We're gonna be scrolling through. I'm just looking at the ones that are low rated and I'm looking for ones that are something we can make a specific design about. So something like this, perfect. I just found one, baseball brother. That's a perfect sub-niche that you can go into with low competition. And you're going to be creating your design about someone who is a brother and they play baseball together. If you keep scrolling through, I'm sure we can find more. Here's another one, baseball daddy. It's basically like baseball dad, how I was saying before, with a slightly different variation. This has low competition, baseball dad, if we see it somewhere else in the list, might have more competition. This is why I use tools for this, because I would not have searched for that on a different marketplace to see if it had competition. Yet, this just gave me the idea right here and showed me that it's low. So you can scroll through all of these, you're just going to find tons of different ideas, those are sub-niches to go into. Now this was one that I just did on the fly here, but there are some that I have found in my previous research lately. So I'll show you how many low competition sub-niches you can really find. So first is teacher, and you're going to find a ton here. So I would look at how many are low. You can scroll through all of these and you're just going to find tons of good sub-niches to go into. There's even more too, electrician. Even electrician as it is, and then you're going to find the perfect keywords for other sub-niches. And the list goes on, there were more that I had found recently, but these were the ones I can remember off the top of my mind. So the first step of this process to make your listings stand out is to make sure that you're finding sub-niches so that you have low competition. That alone is really going to help you out, but the next step is also important. So once you've found these sub-niches, then you have to make sure that your slogans or the text that's on your design is original. One of the hardest parts in print on demand is coming up with good slogans or good things to put on your shirts. Typically, when we're trying to come up with ideas it's very easy to just copy other people's designs and put a slight tweak on it, but that does not make your listings stand out. So what I personally do is I use a tool called ChatGPT, and I'll show you how to do this step by step. It's essentially an artificial intelligence, or an AI, tool that helps you come up with totally original slogans. So this is the inside of ChatGPT, and what's really nice is this tool is totally free to use right now. I don't know how much longer it's going to be free, but if you're watching this video now and it's still free, I highly recommend using it. Now essentially all you have to do is give it a prompt. So specifically for this use case, I'm going to say write me 10 copyright-free, t-shirt slogans about whatever that sub-niche is. So for this instance, I will use the electrician sub-niche. And then, just hit Enter and give it a second to load here, and it's literally going to start writing us 10 slogans that we can use on t-shirts. What I love about this is these are original, so it's not just me copying someone else's design and you can search for as many as you want. So you could write, "Write me 20, write me 30," as many as you want, and it's going to write you a huge list. So that right there is the second phase for making your print on demand listings stand out. First, we found sub-niches. Second, we came up with original slogans to put on the designs. Now the third step is to protect ourselves. This is pretty important, although I prompted ChatGPT to give me 10 copyright-free, t-shirt slogans. Something that ChatGPT even puts in their terms is that it is not 100% factual. So coming up with the creative ideas, that's awesome, but it's not going to be guaranteed that these are copyright-free. This is one of the big pitfalls that you can fall into in print on demand is if you just trust that all of these are copyright-free, you put that into a design, you upload it to a print on demand platform, you may get a copyright strike, because someone may own the trademark to that on apparel. So you just have to make sure that you are protecting yourself before you go ahead and start using these. So the way to check all of these for trademarks is you can either copy them and go to the government trademark database, and you can search for each one of them individually, and search to see if they're protected on apparel. That is technically the free way of doing this, but it is a lengthy process. The way that I do is I just copy all of these, right-click and copy them, go back over to Merch Informer, and then go to Trademarks and go to Trademark Alerts. Now this is another tool on Merch Informer that is extremely helpful, and you can basically just paste all of the different ideas that you wanna put in here and check for trademarks. And the only thing you have to do is you have to remove the quotes for each one of these. But once you've removed those quotes, you just hit Save, and then it's going to bump them all down into your search here, and it's just going to say, Not Checked Yet. So the only thing you have to do is hit Check Trademarks. It'll tell you up top, "We are checking the data." Give it a couple minutes. But typically if you just refresh your page right now, it only takes a couple seconds and it'll check all of those for you. So I'm just going to refresh, and then come down here and it's going to show us if they are safe to use or if they are already trademarked. If you get any of these with a red X, that means that it is trademarked already. You cannot use that, so do not put that into a design and put it on a print on demand platform. Now, in this case, this worked out great. All 10 of these were totally free to use, so they are copyright-free. However, this doesn't happen all the time. In some cases, when you copy it and you paste it over here, you'll find that a couple of them get red Xs so you know which ones not to upload and you just kind of dodged a bullet by doing this check. So just like that, you now have 10 design ideas that you can take over to your t-shirt design software and go create those designs. By doing these three steps that we just did, that's going to make your listings stand out. It's the small things like this of doing your little bit of homework before just creating designs and uploading them, that's going to make you succeed where other print on demand sellers don't. Now for those of you looking for the full print on demand tutorial, I'll link that down in the description. That's the one here on YouTube that covers everything from coming up with your idea, to hitting publish and having your design on the print on demand platforms. As always, if you guys have any questions, just let me know down in the comments. If you enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up. And I'll see you all in the next video.
