[Music] i know i've said this in about 16 000 other videos but you win tomorrow today if i didn't prepare my life the night before for the next day i really don't even know how i would manage i'm already stressed enough the last thing i need is more things getting in the way that could have already been handled especially when i get up so early and i know some people on the internet were trying to convince you that it's all about the grind and they love 4am and you know i'm not one of those people i hate waking up so early but you know what i just gotta do it i don't find it too surprising that many sales professionals are also avid gym goers there are many parallels that apply to both disciplines and from my experience they can be very complimentary for one a job in sales is made up of long hours high stress and constant temptation of bad food without making a conscious decision to try and counteract that with some kind of physical activity your health can quickly take a turn for the worse now when i first started working out it was all about training a specific muscle the goal was pretty simple get big biceps to impress my gym bros but nowadays things have changed a little and my primary goal is really to train my mind i'm a big believer that any kind of progress is mainly a result of continually doing things that you don't feel like doing so whether that means waking up at 4am to work out in zombie mode or making cold calls i know that doing these things will yield positive results i like placing my focus on the inputs because that way i know what variables i need to manipulate if i don't see my desired results so if i'm not seeing the scale go down well maybe i need to add another cardio session not closing enough business maybe i need to look at how many meetings i ran and increase my call volume point being if i can push myself and get through a workout even when i wanted to just stay in bed i feel like that gives me the positive momentum to keep doing things i may not want to do throughout the day hey bud hey [Music] buddy hey buddy wanna have breakfast one of the greatest additions to our morning routine has been a proper family breakfast it makes all the difference helps ground you for the day reminds you why you do what you do try it out it's great so remember back in the day when you were a kid you could just eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast no one thought anything about it but then you realize having a bunch of sugar to start the day probably isn't the best thing for you well thankfully magic spoon has saved the day you guys have seen me talk about this on my channel before i absolutely love this stuff zero grams of sugar four net carbs and 14 grams of protein per serving this stuff tastes so delicious this is the peanut butter flavor which i love my favorite flavor is the frosted but for some reason we can't keep that in the house because camera wife loves it equally as much so it miraculously disappears every time but still so so good mmm i'm telling you if you didn't know better you wouldn't even know that it has a lot of protein in there or it doesn't have a lot of sugar it's just the best about the world you guys should definitely check this out so if you're watching this video right now you're probably a busy professional and it's not always easy to get protein and good quality foods in your diet that's why i'm so thankful that magic spoon has been nice enough to sponsor today's video and you guys can save five dollars off your variety box go to the website build it use code travis to get that five dollars off that's gonna be the first link in the description box down below i know you guys are gonna love it just hide it from your wives or your significant others because they will try to eat it all i'm talking to you and now the fun begins i know when you say you work in sales that could be such a wide spectrum of things from staying in the office all day being on the phone maybe you're working inside sales or the opposite end of the spectrum maybe you're hopping on private jets going to see top clientele i would say i'm somewhere there in the middle i'm a bit of a road warrior because i'm outside sales you know i spend a lot of my time prospecting out in front of customers which i enjoy trying to spend too much time in the office because you don't make any money there uh although it is necessary uh sometimes and i get a lot of dms from you guys um you know that work in sales and have a lot of questions i try to help as much as i can but unless you really know the business and what you're doing on a day-to-day basis like if you are struggling if you're having challenges it's really hard to pinpoint so just an overarching theme that i see a lot is people not focusing on the right activity so they're doing things to keep themselves busy but it might not be revenue generating or might not be what they should be focusing on at that time so that's always the first place i recommend looking so i have read this book a few times but i'm actually listening to it again because i think it is that great and everyone should have to read it but especially if you work in sales because in this profession there is no shortage of excuses so if you can read this and truly buy into the principles i promise you this job is so much better for everyone so if you don't hit your quota it's your fault if implementation goes poorly it is your fault if that prospect ghosts you after promising to give you the business it is still your fault so if you can take extreme ownership over all of that process and only you are to blame it's not your manager it's not your customers it's just you it is so powerful take ownership of your mistakes take ownership of your shortfalls take ownership of your problems and then take ownership of the solutions that will get those problems solved moving on to the next city next appointment but first you already know my favorite place if you guys can see their starbucks i don't even know if it's my favorite but it's always consistent i just like to know what i'm about to get so local coffee shops can sometimes be hit or miss either way let's get caffeinated [Music] all right guys so i'm sure you've seen this before if this is not your first time watching the videos but i pretty much pack the same thing every single day that i'm out and about just a ham wrap pea science protein bar for dessert always it tastes so so good almost like a chocolate peanut butter cup but high in protein and then just some mixed nuts so nothing too exciting i remember when i read grant cardone's book seller be sold and he talked about never eating lunch alone you should be out networking and all that and and you know in my world i'm like who am i gonna meet at the local applebee's that wants to buy whatever i'm you know selling so i just feel like time is your best asset and the fact that i can knock out lunch in like seven minutes is gonna be more valuable a better roi for me personally so we have a few more minutes to kill here before my one o'clock appointment so i just figured i'd share some insights with you guys for those that might be interested in a career in sales and i will say one of the things i love about this job is that you could never be done like there's never going to be a time where there's nothing to do it's not like you complete your tasks and get to go home for the day because there's always more that could be done and once you're finished up with one deal you move on to the next and so on and so forth and i look at this like a game and i'm very competitive and i like to win so being that i treat it like a game i have a lot of fun especially you know when you're winning if i just kind of change my mindset around things that was the biggest shift for me because when i was coming into it looking at it like a bunch of tasks that i didn't want to do it was like not enjoyable right and now i understand hey there's a bunch of things in this job that i just have to do even if i might not enjoy those the most but if i want to get to the fun part i kind of just gotta get those done and not really think about it that much so yeah i hope that um you know some of you watching this video have experienced it and if you haven't and if it's something you think you would enjoy i would say if you're hyper competitive and self-motivated i think you do great and the other thing i get a lot of dms on instagram about is not having any sales experience but when i think about that i'm like wait nobody has sales experience when they start right i don't know anybody that came out of the womb with sales experience i came from the accounting department so the toughest sale that you're going to make is convincing somebody to give you a chance but the good part about that is it only takes one person all you have to do is convince one person to give you a chance and then you will have the experience that may be required for you know higher level sales positions but you gotta start somewhere okay last thing i'm sorry but you know there's not a whole lot i can show you throughout the day so i try to at least give some insights not that i'm some you know sales guru or anything but if you're just starting out maybe it's helpful i would highly recommend before you take any job in sales to really look inward and figure out what you enjoy not that it has to be like your biggest hobby right it's not like i'm selling gym equipment you know i love going to the gym that i'm not in that industry but something that really resonates with you because what i found is people can pick up on passion and i personally i think i have a lot of success because i'm a firm believer in what i'm doing and i really enjoy and i see the value in what i'm talking about and if it's something that was offered to me i would i would want it right and i think if you don't have that it's going to be very challenging and i always think of like things i watch online like i'll i will watch watch reviews and car reviews just because the people talking about them are so invested in it and they're so passionate and i don't care about cars or watches at all let's deliver a [ __ ] watch yes but i just find the video is interesting because they are and i think the same uh the same concept really applies to sales because if you truly believe that your product or service is going to help someone you can convey that message and tonality is everything and i think it will really go a long way okay so i'm headed to my next appointment and obviously i can't take you in there i wish i could that'd be a that'd be a really good case study but anyway if you want to know what it takes to get some of these appointments i figured i couldn't do it justice but this reenactment is sometimes i mean usually not this bad but i thought it was funny hello i'm gonna help you hey i was looking to speak with the owner of that you by chance depends who are you how can i help you my name is hey man i'm with a software service called have you heard of us before man dude you suck at your job dude suck you like you're horrible so that one went extremely well i really wish i could add my camera in there for that one that was great um but the tempting thing here is it's two o'clock now still very early the tempting thing is to just go home and call it a day pat myself in the back because i'm awesome of course but gotta stay out here continue prospecting because even if you've had a good week a good month a good quarter whatever it will catch up to you if you're not continuously putting in the work so use that momentum keep driving forward or if you're at a position where you're really frustrated and you're not having the best quarter or the best week or whatever um that's okay we all go through it and it it's hard it's easy to say right but don't beat yourself up focus on the the micro tasks those activities that will get you to the closing table that will get you to that final result if you just focus on that and don't get caught up in your own head you will be fine i promise this never gets old [Music] hey everybody show everybody yes so it's thursday and every thursday we have the exact same thing for dinner it's kind of like a tradition i guess you would call it which is bagels no what bags and eggs not bagels and eggs that didn't have a ring to it bags and eggs and bacon tonight we're getting real crazy i'd just like to give a shout out to my business partner for always keeping me fed keeping me organized you hold it down that's right now you know we're a good team yeah in fact the two of us when we put our brains together because we have very complimentary skills yes like you keep me like sane in this world and i uh you tell me like jump and i just say how high pretty much how it works today one of my favorite parts about this dinner is that we get to have cheese and this little boy loves i mean is there a dog out there that doesn't love cheese he just goes crazy for it i love you yes [Music] and then we are straight back into the office emails paperwork administrative all of that fun stuff things you've heard on this channel before if you have watched any of these videos and again i know it's probably a little bit redundant but i'm very much someone who sticks to their routine it just helps me maybe a little bit too rigid for a lot of people but everyone's going to be different there and thankfully megan is super helpful when it comes to the administrative side she assists me so much a lot of times people think you know being in sales is an individual thing and from my experience it is not i would not want to be caught in being the lone wolf i get so much assistance from so many other resources whether it be from megan from my team mentors you name it you know anyone that is willing to talk to me i i will talk to them get their best advice uh you know i am just trying to figure it out just like everyone else and i'd never will be at the point where i think my processes are perfect because i know better and i know there's still so much to learn and if you can have other people around you contributing to uh you know what you're trying to accomplish it's just going to be that much easier all right guys i apologize i kind of forgot about you last night it is now friday night and usually by the end of the week it almost feels like you got in a fight like you just got beat up although i won don't worry uh but it just feels a little bit run down and it's almost a good feeling in a weird way and because i've been working so much i just got in trouble for recording during our date night so i'm gonna have to let y'all go or else i'm going to be in the doghouse but it was such a pleasure uh speaking with you for the last 10 minutes or so i hope that you all enjoyed it if you want more sales videos let me know in the comments down below i'm actually getting ready to go pick up a custom suit if you live in the raleigh area check out wiles not uh sponsored but amazing suits anyway thank you all so much for taking time to taking the time out of your day to watch you keep doing anything anything in the entire world you just spend a few minutes with me i look forward to telling you next time
