How to create outlook signature
today i'm particularly excited to review clay this secretive personal crm app has been in closed beta for the last two years they have this amazing landing page extremely well designed and to give them a try you actually have to pay upfront uh you cannot try the app for free they also implemented this waiting list concept where if you invite people you get closer to getting onboarded so overall they generated quite a lot of excitement on twitter pretty similar to how superhuman launched they also have this kind of secretive landing page you just can put your email they will contact you you go through an onboarding call first and so on and it's quite expensive so it does seem like they managed to build the superhuman for contacts that we've all been looking for so let's start this review so this is the web interface for the clay app i signed up a few hours ago and connected my data i'll show you this in the settings so as you can see i connected my data here clay allows you to connect your twitter and email and calendar data for calendar they actually also offer a microsoft outlook integration which is nice and they also have an integration with zapier i try it out it's still pretty complex because you can't just connect in a few clicks you have to use your and so on um but it works if you're a big fan of zapier which is good so let's have a look at how this works there are three tabs here today explore endnotes notes are it's probably what we're least interested in here it's just all the notes i've taken i've just tried a few notes um but the two key tabs um clay wants you to use and that's probably um also their unique insight and the way they they built the startup um let's start with the today tab here i just see a list of my contacts there's a lot of onboarding tutorial so you will like kind of have to guess here i see some people i've recently met i can see emails of when we interacted and then here so this is probably some sort of daily to-do list um and that's probably the thing i think the way they want this to use they want us to use it so for each contact you can review the contact and this is just a note taking so in the case of leander we discussed we had a chat two days ago and so because of this they probably want me to take a note about leander so take a note test note and save the note here what confused me is that the notice that that lander is still there i feel like i still have something to do and if i click here then leander is gone yeah okay perfect so that's pretty nice and what they do is they just look at your data and for and then they figure out people you might want to talk to again um here in this case we talked 11 days ago i can i can see it here and so they want us to reconnect um pretty nice then and i think that's probably what clay is really great at um it's their data enrichment so if i take a contact here by clicking on a contact i can suddenly see the whole biography of this person i can get their linkedin and twitter accounts i can see where they worked education and so on um and that's not my data this was not in my gmail this was not was not in my calendar um so they managed to get this data on their own and that's really nice uh because also they show you the contact picture and so on and where the person lives and yeah that's that's pretty cool finally the last tab um which is pretty cool as well there is another twitter crm that is doing this um so what they do is they look at video changes uh in someone's twitter account so here i can see that omar a friend of mine uh moved uh changed his bo bio and added added something not exactly sure what he added let's i think there's okay here for example we can see that the buyer changed from i tweet about ai in progress to building humanities tech tree um or here i can see that for example jordan oh interesting okay here we can see that jordan changed the link from his startup to his personal website so that might be an interesting reason to reach out um and i think that's the way they want us to use the app as well is to okay see suddenly oh someone changed uh something uh kind of like a personal news feed and then i can just check if i don't remember who jordan is okay who is jordan nice excellent and then here there is some stuff let's have a look at what this does this adds a note this this sets up a reminder probably yeah edit reminder okay this sets up a reminder and if i want to reach out to jordan i can just go there and this opens a mail to link that takes some time to load and once it's loaded okay and then here i could email jordan okay nice so now you you have a sense of how this works um my two cents on the app are um first of all this is great this is what we want basically a tab with the people i'm meeting today um but it seems to not be actually people i'm meeting today seems to just be random people um also people i'm definitely in touch with so i'm not sure exactly how i'm supposed to use this but um the way it it shows me people and that i can click on someone to see learn more about who they are find their social profiles their experience and then i can reach out is great one thing i totally hate is the mail to link as you see this is loading it takes something like five seconds to load i just want to send an email i don't want to wait loading so that's something they could definitely improve maybe just build this in the app um i'm personally as well not a big fan of reminders um just because i don't have the time to set up reminders for all my contacts and so i would like them to figure out who i need to reach out to um the data enrichment as i said is obviously excellent and if we have a look at explore again here they're also suggesting me some people i can reconnect with and then i can either mute if it's someone where i actually won't reconnect again i can set up a reminder if i don't want to reconnect now and i can just say it's done because i may be reached out in another way i'll just test this here so this feels very similar to the today tabs i'm actually not exactly sure how they want us to use this um the stats are nice as well i can see that i have quite a lot of contacts um and finally let's have a look at the search feature because that's also what they are really pushing for in their on their landing page so i can for example search for people here we have some suggestions that like basketball okay turns out i have a lot of basketball fans in my contacts that's interesting okay let's have a look okay and they figure out people's interests i'm not exactly sure how they do this [Music] but that's nice so i guess i know who likes basketball in my contacts and then i can filtered by relationships people who are close so there are 86 people i'm close to and 50 people i'm closer having a look at this those are actually not people i'm i'm pretty close yeah i know this is this is actually pretty accurate that's good and so i can sort by company so they seem to have rebuilt the linkedin search feature um inside the app and adding this kind of interest component where i can search by people who like basketball i guess what they do is they scrape twitter data and based on the things people tweet they will use this to know what they like and i can also filter by when we last talked which is nice as well um here only a few people i talked to a while ago okay so clay is trying to do a lot of stuff um some stuff is done very well like the data enrichment and some stuff is done pretty poorly like figuring out what's actually the purpose of this app from my understanding clay is mainly about note-taking um they have this today tab and they want me to write notes i mean review all the people in this tab and then i'm basically done this very minimalistic ui reminds me again of superhuman and in their case it makes sense because we know what we have to do with emails we have to reply to our emails or remove them and we have to get to inbox zero or at least reply to the people who need a reply from us in the case of contact management and relationship building it's not that simple so it feels like clay is building an inbox processing system so in but instead of replying to emails you basically take notes and once you've taken notes of everyone you're done but are you actually are you building relationships there or and how shouldn't the goal of such an app be to help you reconnect and suggest you people you should email again those are some doubts i have about this app besides the ui and the design who is absolutely amazing obviously i also noticed some issues with duplicate contacts so one of my contacts in google contacts basically it's just one contact and this person has five emails but in clay i suddenly had five contacts for the same person which i'm a bit surprised by anyway please check them out they've definitely done a great job it's a venture-backed company they are shipping new features every month so have a look at what they're doing try their app sign up uh the website is clay.earth you'll find the link in the description and as a disclaimer i'm part of a team building a personal crm here in switzerland um we are really impressed by the work that clay did we're looking forward to see how they continue on their path and to give you a quick overview of how we're different we're focusing less on data enrichment and basically rebuilding linkedin inside of a new app so we don't have a search feature where you can search by company and so on um and we're more focusing on telling you just who you need to reconnect with and helping you write notes if you are curious about what we are doing you can check us out at nat dot app on this i wish you a wonderful day thanks for watching this video and see you soon bye
