hi everyone Angela Johnson here so just a really quick training about what is the difference between a pipeline a funnel and how that relates to all nine marketing this big ominous word and what that means and what to do if you're an intuitive aware creative entrepreneur and all that stuff just sounds too linear too blah too constrictive to force and too formulaic and you just don't want to do it at all alright so welcome and for those of you who want to know how to do this and then I have an invitation for you as well to make this way easier way or more organic so they can have easy fun and profitability with your online marketing all right so here's the analogy that I just shared at the client and so I got inspired to do this video really quickly so this is unscripted unrehearsed and I'm just gonna share with you what I shared with her is if you think about your online marketing funnel and we're gonna actually flip funnel around and use the word pipeline and here's why as a funnel is you put a bunch of people in at the top and you sell them something that's you know low-cost and then some people will graduate to the next level so you can sell them something that's mid cost some people will graduate to the next level and then so on and so forth until you have a few people tricks about the bottom of the funnel and so in the meantime you're building your email is people are buying stuff along the way hopefully and then you have some people who are quote qualified that have gone through all these hoops then buy your stuff so that's the traditional funnel there are a lot of different ways you can do that but that's a funnel so a pipeline is you start at a point a and you're just guiding people along the way and people can opt out at any time but it's not about getting as many people in at the top of the funnel so if you think you get scottson out at the bottom but a pipeline is just leading people to a natural next step and inviting people to the next step really organically instead of from just this you know kind of online marketing kind of heavy-handed stuff that a lot of people are used to and this is I think why a lot of people shy away from online marketing funnels pipelines all the language you know email sequences nurture sequences like all the stuff is because it feels too constricting it's been maybe even a bit heavy-handed and slimy and so there is a different way to do this so here's the analogy that I use is let's just pretend that everybody that opsin is that they are now going on your train and your train is taking them to just pick your favorite place my favorite place one of them is Florence Italy so so my opt-in is hey here's your ticket to Florence Italy so the opt-in is essentially what are you selling like what's the destination right what is the thing that you were giving them and so once they opt-in once they show up to the train station with their ticket because they gave you their name and email address then like yeah all aboard let's go and then the next station is you're not Florence Italy yet but you might give them a blog or an email or a checklist or if you know a resource something of value to let them know that they're on the right train and that you as their conductor are to be trusted and you're a great guide and you're excited that they're there and so your email sequence your pipeline is essentially taking them from Torino station to station until you get to your final destination and even when you get to your final destination people may still stay on the train with you that's when they're buying your other programs so they're going to your other events or classes or things that way so a pipeline is essentially an invitation an invitation to what's possible for somebody and how you run your pipeline can be different sometimes people have a speaking pipeline so in other words they speak at a networking group they get you know leads from that and so how are they nurturing people like what are the steps they're taking with people who raise their hand say yeah I want to go to Florence Italy with you that's amazing not only do I want to go to Florence Italy because there are a billion and one ways to get there but I want to go with you so I'm opting into your train in other words your email list with my name and email address I want to go the way that you're going like there's something that resonates about you and I want to go with you and so this is where you're inviting people into that pipeline where this all makes sense right and so you might have a speaking pipeline you might have you know your online pop pipelines so um people opt in with their email address on your free gift on your home page then what are the emails that they receive after so it would be kind of like if you went you know you showed up with your ticket and you're so excited to go to Florence so you show up you know at the train station and nobody's there like no way I bought my ticket it's right here like you said we're going to Lawrence Italy and and nobody's nobody's here like what's going on like what the hell so this is the equivalent of when people opt in and then they never hear from you again how many of you've done that guilty as charged I've done that and it's not the greatest way to build a relationship would you agree and so one of the things you want to do is after people opt in so this is the first step of your pipeline then what is that conversation like are you giving them additional blogs are you inviting them into a conversation with you are you selling them a $90 course are you inviting them to an event that's a thousand dollars like there are so many different possibilities so many different destinations and ways to get to that destination that every single person's pipeline is going to be different there is no formula of seven emails the first email says this the second email says that like there's a general conversation but how you run your pipeline how you build it how you invite people to it is going to be different there's no cookie cutter formula here there's no one-size-fits-all there's no everyone has the exact linear train and we're just going like it's like robots like it's very organic and so the biggest thing you know two points that I want to make here is that if you have shied away from online marketing or pipelines or funnels or all these words and email sequences and all this stuff because it's just too much like a I don't know how to do this B I don't want to do this because it's just it's just too much it's like too forceful it's boring it's not authentic like whatever that is my first invitation for you is to let all of those preconceived notions go like I'll let all those points of you go and really tune into the energy of what could it create for your business if you were willing to make consistent invitations to people that you want on your train people that want to go where you're going that want you to be their guide and so you've got to make an invitation because yeah they might just stumble upon your training by accident and there's both the energetic side of it like who are you being and also the strategic side of it where where are you inviting people how are you inviting people you know there are many ways that people can get to the street the train station right so those are all the ways that you can invite people to play in your world through speaking or a Facebook live or an online event or networking or I mean networking is almost as bad of a word as marketing right oh whatever works for you and so this is your pipeline and so you have multiple pipelines in a business so let's say that you're selling a six month program and that's like the ultimate destination like this is your Florence Italy well you'll have multiple pipelines you know multiple ways that people can find out about that multiple ways that people can be invited to that multiple ways that you'll be nurturing people and so after you invite people into your you know let's just say your email list in this case and then what are those stops along the way so everyone's here at station a and we're all excited to go to Florence Italy at least I am I love Florence Italy so wherever your destination is and then the next station is what what's that conversation in other words what's the second email that they get and then the next station is this and maybe you know there's an upgrade oh you want your you know to sleep on the on the train and a really comfortable sleeper bed cabin thing awesome here's the link that you can do that and then you know you're announcing because you're the conductor of the Train right hey everybody look out the left side this is amazing you want to check this out look look out the left or right window there's really gorgeous scenery over here and this is what we're experiencing here and so this is essentially the conversation that you're taking people through in your social media presence your email sequences and email sequence or your newsletters you know whatever you're emailing to your list and along the way that you're going to be inviting them into upgrades you're going to be inviting them into a different experience with you maybe it's a conversation like there's so many different possibilities so so the first invitation was just to let all of the heaviness and the constriction go because that does not have to be a reality the second invitation is to ask a lot more questions and follow your awareness like your pipelines and your business essentially your invitations of how you're inviting people to work with you and play play with you and your the possibilities is going to look different than mine it's going to look different than your you know another colleague is going to look different than your clients it's going to be different but the Comets and nominators aren't there's an invitation and you're letting people know where you're taking them right the kind of creepy if you're like yeah we're getting on a train and I'm not gonna tell you where we're going like that is not a trip I would probably take either do your people they want to know and who you are and where you're going and that's the conversation that you're having in the pipeline now the third invitation they have for you pipeline is just really the map of how you want to do that and again there's no one-size-fits-all your map is not look like anyone else's so this is for people who want to use their awareness and
