[Music] hello welcome again to our channel in this video we will discuss construction quality management it's two components or aspects what exactly is construction quality management construction projects involve a variety of functions performed by a variety of specialty parties and trades but they all have one thing in common a desire to deliver quality work on time and on budget quality management in construction refers to the policies processes and procedures put in place to improve an organization's ability to consistently and continuously improve its ability to deliver quality to its contractors or subcontractor while every construction company worldwide wishes to deliver quality at every stage of construction and on every project it is the implementation of these internal and external principles and guidelines that results in quality the following are the primary goals of quality management one to reduce the number of defects on asset delivery or handover two to detect and resolve defects and issues before your customers do thereby protecting your reputation achieving these goals has numerous obvious benefits none more important than continuing to get more work and building a strong positive reputation quality assurance versus quality control quality control and assurance are two aspects of quality management while some quality assurance and quality control activities overlap the terms are not interchangeable definition of quality assurance quality assurance is defined as a component of quality management that focuses on providing assurance that quality requirements will be met quality assurance provides confidence to management on two levels internally and externally to customers government agencies regulators certifiers and third parties definition of quality control quality control is defined as a component of quality management concerned with meeting quality requirements while quality assurance is concerned with how a process or product is carried out quality control is concerned with the inspection aspect of quality management difference of quality assurance and quality control number one project documentations qa is responsible for ensuring that all documents are recorded in their respective log sheets for example drawings log sheet for approved drawings document transmittal log for all incoming and outgoing documents such as material approval request mark method of statements and procedures qc will ensure that all documents are securely stored in file boxes or file cabinets for the most recent revision qc must stamp issued for construction ifc drawings with controlled and superseded drawings must also be stamped superseded only drawings with the controlled and issued for construction stamps will be used on the job site number two project materials qa is responsible for ensuring that all project materials are approved via the material approval request mark these must adhere to the project specifications and standards qc shall ensure that all purchase materials are in ance with approved mr non-material requirements nmr purchase orders and or delivery notes number three site activities to meet project requirements qa must ensure that the method of statement mos inspection and test plans itp and inspection test reports itr are all prepared and approved qc will inspect and verify the installations and tests in ance with the approved mos itp and itrs stages of activity must be documented on the itp and checked against the itemized requirements in the inspection and test reports or itr i hope in this early stage you have now learned something about quality management and its two aspects quality assurance and quality control in the next video we will discuss those documents that have been mentioned in this video and other documents used for inspection activity thank you please hit like and subscribe for more videos any questions comments below
