[Music] it was the best training program I found but the only training program where you were actually trained in a classroom with people your own age and got to do hands-on personal experience with equipment I did come in having little to none equipment knowledge and now just being here almost two months I know a lot more but there's a lot more to learn I was actually a sales associate for about six seven months in Charlotte North Carolina making phone calls learning the sales process how to negotiate I didn't want to be in the office I didn't want to be the receptionist the outside those position like you're gonna get a truck you're gonna be in office maybe one day a week I was gonna be out in the field interacting with customers and what you see on TV what you drive by and like that looks like a something fun to play with is basically all I knew about the heavy equipment this program changed the way I think about the way I look at it the way I think about the construction industry as a whole because you see how you can help larger companies but you can also see how you could help the mom and pops if you filled that relationship you can really help them out if you do it right by them is another industry you have to wait and wait and wait to get a territory where is this because of the scope of the company we have opportunities across the country to get out there and get our boots dirty you're not learning from books you're not learning from someone telling you stuff yeah the vendors were actually come and you can get in the equipment you can actually drive the equipment around it makes it more fun to be honest you're learning in a fun way which is something that makes it easier to learn love the mountains love the outdoors and this job's allowed me to take advantage of things like being able to go snowboarding on the weekends and you know mountain biking enjoying what Denver and the city has to offer so I didn't realize how big the industry wasn't how much money was in it after you see the need for all the equipment that's out there you really wrap your head around like how good of a situation it could be to work for a company like that benefits which is great for 1k which is even better like it has a big company like this they really give you initially even off the bag to give you a lot of resources one great thing about your integrals is the fact that there are so many people there to help you if you don't know the answer I guarantee you there's somebody right next to you that does call a new branch that I want to and they can help me out or I can cost I'll wrap the resources are unlimited we have industry resources then their resources anything that we need to know about equipment you can you know call the vendors and they definitely are willing to help us out the marketing is a plus it's a really rare thing to call on a customer and they've never heard of us you know you're getting all the tools you need to be set up for success that the training program they provide is unmatched especially in the industry no other company provides a sales training program that not only educates you with a ton of product knowledge but also sales acumen on the phone and then allows for the next step very quickly into the outside role where you can take what you learned inside and then immediately use out in the field to develop customer relationships and solve their problems this job helps you build more than just my communication skills evite helps build you up as an individual like your way of thinking to be a part of such a big company and you walk in every day and see people around you that really care about what they're doing and their you know everyone's kind of going in the same direction it's really cool and even to see your name you know on top of some of those lists is real cool too the tons of possibilities from the Atlantic coast to the west coast are you anywhere in between you can find a job and go someplace that maybe you've never been or maybe you grew up the growth opportunities or just ki that's why I'm here I mean I want to put up some big numbers see what I can do see how high on the chain I can get you know in my career and you know the Reynolds has endless opportunities in terms of careers avenues and job fields that I can go to and try to tackle that having different career paths you can take is great almost every single person that I work with this technically above me and the management role has had a different route of getting there so it's pretty nice to look back and say hey you know I don't have to take this one route I can take several routes to get there this is one of the few companies that have been to where they bring so many people referring you that are like well-known in the company because we can actually see that yes there are different levels to this company and they really are achievable your work level with your work ethic whatever it is that's going to take it to the next level year and I would say if how you took me a good seven months you need to really get my feet comfortable you know learn what it takes it to function every single day it might you know objectives and just feel comfortable in my territory my top two projects or two wind farms out in eastern Colorado and seeing a 250-foot piece of metal go up that's gonna be clean energy is just amazing every single time I go out there I'm just blown away about how fast and how large those things are and that I'm helping build the future I know it's do you not a Reynolds motto but I really am helping build the future by providing a project equipment to build a cleaner planet yeah I think the great thing about the outside sales rep position once you get there is there's a lot of freedom kind of set your own schedule as far as where you go when you go and what makes the most sense for you and your customers which is something I like there's a lot of time where you kinda are your own boss and what's also good is if you're doing a job you're probably making a pretty good paycheck which allows you to maybe live in the neighborhood you want to live in and have time yourself and go out with your friends when you want to do it and definitely I'm not gonna do a job that I don't enjoy but I'm definitely I'm doing a job that I don't make enough money to live the lifestyle what I want to live first really cool project was the Broncos practice facility here in Denver's that was really cool just seeing not only being able to kind of peek over the wall at the Broncos while they were practicing and then just see the development of that job and and then right now really challenging but also fun project is the VA hospital here in Denver so 1.7 billion dollar project and a lot of moving parts it was kind of overwhelming at first but now the experience has definitely been invaluable and I feel pretty confident with dealing with high-level deals and high-level customers with a lot of spin I think that's like one of the coolest things about it you get to ride around and actually see that you're making a difference in a community and seeing it kind of grow before you at branch jo3 in Colorado Springs were you know one team we work together we all if we all play together we all win together and so I feel home you know it's welcoming and that's what I wanted and I got that's what I got out of United Rentals the United Rentals really gave me the opportunity to step out of the box in a second I did I realize I don't want to be in that box anymore because it's so common in life you put yourself within the parameters of what you can do that you get stuck in that mindset I honestly I wake up every morning I come down like a better dude numbers it's a little bit like a friendly competition you got people around you you want to be the best at your job and just it really instills their driving you and just seeing how happy the other co-workers that I work with are and they they know they're being taken care of every single day that's how I know that I picked the right company to work for that's why you never Reynolds does so well because everyone cares we're all on the same team we want to win because if the sales team wins the drivers win the mechanics win we're all a team and we all want to win [Music]
