FAQs online signature
-
How does document automation work?
Document Automation works by pulling data and text from a variety of sources and inserting it into predefined areas of document templates. These templates can include anything from simple text blocks to more sophisticated elements such as tables, graphs, and images.
-
Is NDA a legal document?
An NDA is a legal agreement which defines information that the parties wish to protect from dissemination and outlines restrictions on use. NDAs are also valuable to protect the ability to patent an invention, something that can be compromised if a disclosure of the invention becomes public knowledge.
-
Can you legally violate an NDA?
Since NDAs are civil contracts, breaking one isn't technically a crime. However, it could come with severe financial penalties. Violating an NDA leaves you open to lawsuits from your employer, and you could be required to pay financial damages and possibly associated legal costs.
-
Is a NDA legal standing?
Generally, NDAs will be enforced by a court, but some statutes and public policy may prevent the enforcement of an NDA. For example, many NDAs will be voided or partially so regarding criminal acts. Often NDAs may be unenforceable unless certain procedural requirements are met.
-
Do NDAs hold up in court?
NDAs are valuable legal tools, but their enforceability hinges on careful drafting and adherence to legal principles. To ensure your NDA holds up in court, be sure it is clear, reasonable, and serves a legitimate business purpose.
-
How enforceable are NDAs?
NDAs are enforceable once signed, provided they have been drafted and executed properly. Unilateral NDAs need only the signature of the receiving party, whereas mutual non-disclosure agreements need the signatures of both parties.
