How to create outlook signature

the word affidavit is being thrown around a lot in the news this week so i thought i'd make a video just talking about in a legal context what is an affidavit and how is it used in legal proceedings an affidavit is a written statement and it's sworn to under oath which means under the pains and penalty of perjury now perjury is a felony and if you submit something to the court and you intentionally mislead the court or lie to the court you could go to jail for that so an affidavit like i said it's a statement it's sworn under oath and how it is used in in most cases is the lawyer will submit a pleading a complaint that's how a lawsuit begins so you file a document and it makes a set of allegations and it says how those facts violate the law and you ask for relief from the court whatever you want whether it's going to be an order or an injunction from the court directing somebody else to do something or whether it's money damages whatever it is you put that in the complaint and you file it with the court and then off you go with the lawsuit so the affidavits will be submitted in most cases along with the complaint so you'll make allegations and then you'll attach the affidavit supporting your allegations and anything that supports an allegation is evidence so somebody wants to say an affidavit is not evidence they're wrong anything that supports allegations in a lawsuit is considered evidence so ultimately what's going to happen is anybody who makes one of these affidavits will essentially be the statements will be scrutinized by the opposing lawyer and eventually if it goes to trial the person will most likely be put on the stand and cross-examined by the opposing attorney right so an allegation is a written statement it's made under the pains of perjury which means you could go to jail if you lie in the affidavit it's most often attached to a complaint which starts a lawsuit and also if there's subsequent pleadings motions things like that you could also use the affidavit in support of those things as well and it is evidence and it's evidence because it's used to support allegations made in a lawsuit so i hope that clears things up and you have a better sense of what is meant when somebody uses the word affidavit and what exactly it is
