because it's how you make sounds effectively what a sales funnel is it's just the process of taking someone from being interested or noticing your brand all the way through to purchasing and hopefully in many cases becoming a repeat customer so what I've done is I've translated the classic sales funnel into something that can be more understood more easily digested by restaurants and this is really a process that we use with a lot of our restaurant bar pub clients to deliver sales in their business a lot of you have probably already got some in line is set up be just maybe don't even realize but let's just talk through the levels that we have to bring someone through to actually turn them into a customer from you know perhaps a a fan someone who's discovered you on social media anything like that the first thing you need to do with anyone whether it's on this walked into your business and and spent money or whether it's someone it was just liked one of your images on Facebook is you need to find a way to get as many people's contact details build your database with as many people would interact with your business as possible every single person that interacts with your business and does not hand over their contact details is a lost opportunity the reason that is because if you have someone's contact details it's really easy or much easier to stay in their head and it's much easier to be able to leverage that person and get them into your business to spend money so the problem with that is we can't just say to people to come across as helped give us your email we need to give them a reason at the end of the day contact details are precious to people people know that if they give their contact details out to many people they're going to get lots of rubbish Shiva through their letterbox in their email text messenger any of those places they need they're very precious around who they give their contact details to and rightly so so what we need to do is we need to give people good enough reason to give us their contact details one way to do that common way to do that is create some kind of offer club so tell someone if they give you their email if they connect with your messenger if they give you their phone number whatever it might be that you're going to send them something like a monthly offer that's exclusive to your offer club so if they sign up then they're gonna get those special offers they're gonna get discounts that they're not gonna get anywhere else if they like the look of what you're doing and they like the look of your food or your drink it's very likely they're going to be quite happy to hand over their contact details for something of that value another thing you can do it could be a loyalty card and lot we cards another great way to get people interested in your brand but you need something some reason something you can exchange for people's contact details once you've got their contact details okay then you need to make sure that you deliver on your promise so in this case we're going to be sending people very desirable offers so they can come in to the restaurant to the bar and claim them now the final thing we need to make sure that we do is we make sales from this system completely transparent and trackable so again what you need to make sure is you have some kind of mechanism firstly to show you someone's actually come in and claim the offer from your program but also make sure that you track how much they actually spend when they come in to the restaurant we talked about a little bit more about why that's important in a minute but that's the three layers we need to collect contact details we to send desirable offers communicate value to our audience regularly as promised and then make sure the office or whatever it is that we send them whether it offers lobby card whatever it might be but we make sure that we have a way to track when that offer has been claimed or at least as well as that should I say track the amount of money there's actually being spent now how do you do that how do you track how much money is being spent how do you track what offers are being claimed well one simple way to do it is to create either a web page or what we prefer to do is put it in facebook Messenger send them an offer something like let's say you sent me a 50% off offer through messenger add the little button on there that says bring this message into the restaurant so that you can tap redeem when you show this to the server and they'll bring their phone into the restaurant they'll show the server and a circle just I think great to complete your redemption of the offer please can you just tap redeem they tap redeem we log that as a redemption then what we can then do in messenger is very easy to track also how much people have spent as well an easy way to do that of course is to just get the person behind the bar or the server to note it down the problem with that of course is there is a little bit time-consuming and can kind of add precious minutes onto your processes on the ground so you know a better way for you guys have shown on Facebook message us maybe your pop-up comes up that says can you just confirm or ask the server to confirm exactly what your bill amount was so we can complete your redemption however you do it is really up to you you've got to work find something that works for you but it's really important that you track that spend that once you've tracked that spend what you can then do is make sure that once someone's come in and claimed the offer and spent money you can send them another offer either the next month either straight after that however you want to say them you need to make sure that you can sistent lee providing value to your audience once you know how much they've spent of course what you can then do is you can take your favorite customers the people who are spending the most money you can upload them to Facebook custom audience you can create a look-alike audience of those people and what that means is you can find more people that are spending they're likely to spend the highest man in your local area and then feat at Facebook out to those people that's going to mean that they're going to be more likely firstly to sign up and it also more likely to spend more money so you're able to increase the bill spend as well but let's have a look at some of the other ways to get people into this funnel you know fans and followers great way so people are following you on facebook you know you need to turn those people into customers offer them something get into join your club by submitting their contact details another great way social media advertising target people in the local area target people who are interested in your particular cuisine test lots of different ads and get them in that way website visitors you know you probably got a bunch of people visiting your website okay every day now have you got something on your website that encourages people that have coverages visitors to hand over their contact details and join some kind of system some kind of funnel to can track them slowly down into a sale if you haven't you need to make sure you do that customers so these are people that are walking into your business already people don't walk into your business already niche might be new customers there might be customers that visit a few times what a perfect opportunity to get new content these is it they've already spent money with you so getting it back again he's going to be a lot easier than some of these other ways the perhaps include people who haven't visited your business before if he would have already come to your business one so maybe they come a second or a third time which proves they really like what you're doing you know just by quiet gait by getting their contact details tell them that if you give you their content they because they're gonna get a special offer that's going to encourage them to come back a lot more rapidly into your business again it's gonna be much easier to convince these people to come back into your businesses they've already visited and it's gonna be a lot cheaper as well so make sure that when you're you know your servers are giving the bill to their customers and they're paying they get into the habit of telling people about your offer club or telling people about your loyalty card whatever it is you've got running so they can encourage them to come back again another great one Wi-Fi login you know maybe you're a cafe or maybe you have a lot of people that are asking you for your Wi-Fi password if you're just given that password out free of charge and asking for any contact details again you're missing an opportunity there create an option so that people can get the Wi-Fi login by perhaps logging in with their email logging in through facebook Messenger any of those things they swap it for that email address which also subscribes them to your offer club to your loyalty cards all of those right things and enters them into your system you need to get in to the habit of making sure that you get as many people as many as much traffic as possible to hand over their contact details and enter into some kind of offer club some kind of loyalty card system that communicates your values sends them offers gives them reasons to come into your off your restaurant your bar your pub not just once but multiple times that is all I've got for now but you know if you're if you're struggling as a restaurant owner at the moment if you're trying to think of ways that you can get people to come in to your restaurant make sure you think about this fair sales final sale think about how can you collect contact details what kind of system can you set up to deliver to deliver value and offers to people to can get incoming back to your restaurant multiple times and how can you track the claims of those offers how can you track the sales that you're making once you once you've set a system like this up all you've really then gotta focus on is what is the cheapest way to get people insight into this system so that I can be spending less money up here to get people in then I'm making a new bottom it becomes a math equation rather than you know a marketing problem this is a great way to deliver value to your customers this is a great way to ensure you drive profit into your restaurant it's a great way to increase the bill spend if you attract the spend and feed that back into a customer is and it's also a great way
