hi Luana here I want to talk to you today about how PR can increase the revenue for your business okay so the purpose of PR is to increase your visibility to establish relationships with new audiences that are going to be coming into your existing ecosystem and your existing audience meaning that you're building relationships you're creating trust you're creating a loyal audience without having to rely on one-to-one conversations now one-to-one conversations are great keep doing those but there's only so many of those that you can do where PR opens you up to an almost unlimited reach okay so your um increasing your visibility your building relationships and your building trust with your audience what that does is it helps you to make your marketing and sales systems more effective okay because it leads to Brand recognition better reputation a huge boost in credibility because you're now all over the media people are talking about you all over the place endorsing you and your skills and this leads to increased trust like you know as well as I do that on sales calls if people generally say they're not ready or sometimes they might say something to do with time money but the reality is that most of the time it comes down to trust it comes down to whether they trust you to be able to deliver you and your team to be able to deliver whether they trust in your system and also whether they trust in themselves to be able to follow it so by doing the pr you're increasing all of those yeah because you're sharing openly so you're you're sharing personal stories so that they resonate with you and build that trust and they really really feel like like they know you like you've got common ground or you know life you'll understand them and you share where you've the the stories that are relevant to them so they can see where you've come from so they increase their belief that they can also achieve that and you know you're going to be endorsed all over the place so it really builds that trust now a lot of people mistakenly believe that PR is a lead generation and sales tool now while a feature in a major publication or a TV appearance or whatever can generate interest in your offer and you can absolutely get people um coming and asking you directly about your offer off the back of those the focus of PR should always remain on building that relationship and Trust um and you need to trust that the leads and sales the business growth comes as an indirect way okay it's not measurable in the same way as a Facebook ad so Facebook ad you know it's directly calling you into an offer so what PR does is it helps to make that thing more effective so say you've got a Facebook ad and it's calling people in and they're living it well what PR does is when they're looking you up when they're looking you up what's coming up for you on Google like are you all over the media being shouted about by Brands and celebrities is that's what's coming up mixture of business stories and personal stories so they see how badass you are at what you do but also they resonate with you on a connect with you on a personal level or is it just a bunch of random stuff maybe not even maybe not even you coming up on the front page you know that happens sometimes um so yeah so people are going to be looking you up on Google and if you think like if somebody has seen your ads and they're interested and then they see you in media that's only going to strengthen their belief their trust that you can do this for them okay so it's not measurable in the same way as PR what it does is it amplifies what you're already doing so this means yes you need your marketing and sales in systems in place before you start PR unless you want to do a one-off like an announcements like if you've got a book coming out or a new offer or whatever then by all means announce the out of that okay and we do do one-off announcement packages as well but for long term PR I would um recommend getting your sales and your marketing sorted and then amplifying that with PR so a reason I wanted to touch on this today is because it is a common thing that comes up and something that I found is that when people approach PR with the sole intention of getting leads and sales their energy and their messaging can come across as inauthentic and pushy because they that's their intention so when you do go into PR have the intention that you're there to give value that you're there to build relationships that you're there to help the people who need you and you give that help freely and you trust that everything will happen as a result of that in a way that's indirect it's the same as say you're on um Facebook LinkedIn or whatever and you see somebody who could do with your services and you reach out to them on DMS well are you reaching out to them with the intention of I'm going to sell to you in which case it's not going to work or do you reach out to them to build a relationship and to you know see if there's a way that you can help them there's a big difference in the energy and people can feel it and it's exactly the same with PR as well so approach your features approach your interviews with you know a genuine want to help people and just trust you know that that the benefits will come to you in a way that's indirect um yeah so that's it so use your PR to demonstrate who you are what you do what sets you apart share your stories share your experiences freely have fun with it don't take it so seriously have fun with it because it is really really great fun um you're gonna have so many amazing experiences you're gonna make so many amazing content contacts just enjoy it and trust that yes your business will grow off the back of your PR as long as you're going in with the genuine intention to give value and to help
