welcome to hr huddle employee life cycle first you recruit your next awesome employee by using various resources like posting a job on indeed or with your local college we recruited jimmy next step is to select the best candidate out of the pool that you were able to recruit and notify other candidates of your decision our best candidate was jimmy orientation and onboarding is next after jimmy accepted our offer we wanted to acclimate him to our firm with an orientation by an assigned mentor we also needed to make it official via onboarding by having him complete new hire paperwork take a tour meet his new team and learn about our culture next there's position training so now the fun begins jimmy is learning his role next we have development and engagement so we continue to develop jimmy and foster engagement opportunities to keep him connected to the organization his team and his peers next there's retention jimmy is still dedicated to our mission and we value him we offer opportunities to keep him inspired and growing after all he is a performer next we have secession planning when jimmy is ready to grow into other roles within the company we want to make sure he is aware of those opportunities also we want a plan to fill his current role we take a look at the organization to determine if it will most likely be another employee who can promote or transfer into his role or if we need to use external recruiting options to replace him when he's ready to move on the cycle repeats continuously throughout jimmy's career with us jimmy does accept another position within the organization and now jimmy is learning a new role through position training then there's development and engagement and again we continue to develop jimmy and foster engagement opportunities to keep him connected to the organization next we have the retention that's part of the cycle jimmy carefully considers staying in his current role starting the cycle all over again by moving into another position or leaving for another company next there's transition so the employee life cycle ends at this step and sadly instead of retention jimmy chose the path of transition he has provided notice and is training his replacement the final step is separation jimmy has moved on to another chapter in his life he is always welcome back and we wish him the best that is the employee life cycle have a great day and come back soon
