I love the price. Nice features without the high price tag. We don't send that many documents so its nice to have a reasonable option for small business.

How to create outlook signature

[Music] hey guys welcome back today we're going to do is we're going to take a look at how we can create a sales order using a flow now this has got a lot of applications to it if you think about it if you build any sort of solution in powerapps where you need to create an invoice let's just say you know maybe you've got an equipment rental uh solution that you're creating in powerapps and you need to be able to build the client for the uh for the rental fee right so you can create a flow that would run periodically or basically depending on what how you design your solution you can run it up via a button or you know just any way you want to trigger this flow that'll create the sales order invoice for you now what we're looking at today will not be a complete solution i'm just trying to show you the basics on how you could actually do it and use the the entities to uh to create a sales order all right so what i'm using today are virtual entities i'll put a link in the video below back to my blog that shows how to set those up we've used those a lot when we use powerapps and in dynamics 365 finance operations so you it's something you should know how to do is real pretty easy to set up and get going so i recommend you know trying to try and take a look at that and seeing how you how you can actually set that up okay so let's flip on over here and let's take a look and we are going to create a flow um so what i'm going to do is i'm going to go into flows and like i'm going to create just a manual flow so to play around with this so we're going to go ahead and just do an instant cloudflow and i'll call this one create sales order and we'll go ahead and this is going to manually trigger float we'll hit create okay so first thing we're going to do is we want to search for a connector for dynamics i'm just going to do dynamics and we'll look at this for fin ops here and create a record okay now what you'll notice here i'm going to give you kind of a bonus tip here now actually somebody told me the other day they didn't think that you could use uh powerapps with a trial instance of dynamics 365 because it doesn't show in the drop down here and i'm going to show you here if we look here it doesn't doesn't show but notice you can enter a custom value here so if you click on enter custom value i'm going to copy my trial instance here so i'll copy my url for my trial instance and paste that in there and that's all you have to do to use to do a trial instance or use powerapps for the trial instance now you want to leave off the https you want to leave off the backslashes you just want to put it just like i have it here in the screen here okay so once you do that we're going to type in sales i'm going to look for my sales order header um here so let me go look cells uh sales order headers there it is v2 is our entity now i should explain first that you know there's two two pieces of sales order you've got the header and then the line so what you have to do in your flow is you have to create your um you have to create your header first and then you can go in and add your lines here okay so that's what we're gonna do first we're gonna create that header and then we're gonna go back and we're gonna add lines to it so the first thing we're gonna do is we're gonna set a company attribute and normally like i said you would you'd use variables for these i'm just going to type in values in here just so you can kind of understand what's going in what box but just know that you if you're using a solution you want to create variables for all this so you can pass those variables in okay so the company i'm going to use here since i'm going to use contoso data i'm going to use usmf and then if we expand out here let's kind of flip through here our fields now unfortunately these are not in alphabetical order so you kind of have to go through and and figure which ones you need so let's kind of scroll down here and we'll we'll pick a couple of fields that we need to set uh so again i'm you know i don't know what easy way to do this if you do know any easier way to look at this um definitely shoot shoot me an email or put a comment below and we'll take a look here so what i want to look for here first is i've got i want to put my customer account number and i'm going to use us-004 again you'd normally use a variable and i'm going to go ahead and specify a warehouse and i want to cite so i'm going to do a just a search for a site there we go and let's put site 2 in there all right so what that's going to do is that's going to create our header let me scroll down and collapse that up now i'm going to hide those events so let me rename this and we're going to create you know calls create sales order header all right so we'll go ahead and save that now what we can do let's go ahead and run this here i'm just going to let test and let's let's run this and we can just kind of see what happens here and actually i'm just going to ask me for my permissions i'm going to hit continue and run flow and that'll kick me over to the uh to the flow run and this will take a few seconds you know it's taking about 15 20 seconds to do but what you should see it passed back is the sales order id so we're gonna need that sales order id to pass over down to the lines and we can actually you know pass the company down to the lines if we wanted to etc etc okay so our flow is run if we click down here and look at our outputs so here's our sales order id there's our we created uh sales order oops sorry here sales order 837 and company usmf if we go and look at our sales order screen let me just this is dynamics let me go and refresh the screen here and look here we have our sales order 837 and if we open that up we should see if we go to so again we didn't add any lines yet that's what we'll do next but we'll come here to the header so there's our warehouse our customers in there correctly etc okay so one thing that just to note it is using this number sequence you can specify a sales order number on there but it does pick up the number sequence so so why specify a number um but uh it is picking up that number sequence all right so let's go back and let's go and hit edit again and now we can add our lines let's go ahead and hit new step here and we're going to go ahead and do dynamics again and we're going to do fin ops and we're going to create a record again because now we're going to create our line so what we're going to do is say the same sort of thing let me go ahead and put in my inner custom value go and put in my trial url and then let's go ahead and we'll start typing in sales order and then i should have lines there's my sales order lines i can i can pick from and it does take it sometimes a few seconds to actually kick off and give you the feel expand out to give you the fields that you can that you can use there okay so there it goes now what we can do now since this ran up above it we can use some of the variables from up above so for example we have our company that we can put in there the other important one we want to look for is sales order so that'll be real important because we've got to map this up to our sales order line so again i'm probably easier to search but let me just scroll down here if i don't see it real quick i will go ahead and uh there it is so we want to pass our sales order and so again this is from the step above and then we want to go ahead and specify our item that we're going to use so let me uh find the item here other side i'm going to put in site here for it and again just to reiterate you would normally use variables for this so don't don't think you're you know you're having to enter in each one of these things let me just do a search here so i'm going to do item now i don't know see if i can find it real quick uh external item number it must be up above sorry about that uh item item here we go batch number item number here we go find them okay so i'm gonna put in an a triple a one there and then you may wanna put in a quantity here so let's go ahead and just search for quantity make this a little easier for quantity there we go we're going to put in a quantity of two for that and then let's just go find warehouse so where else uh i'm gonna go ahead and put 20 24 in there sorry okay all right so let's go down and we'll scroll down and we'll collapse this so basically we're just entering our line data so we've got our item number warehouse number or quantity anything you need on the line go ahead and go and put it into the flow there okay so we'll go ahead and save that flow and now let's go ahead and run that one so we'll go ahead and test we're going to manually trigger that and we'll go ahead and run the flow and that's going to kick us back to our flow run here again it's gonna take us a few seconds for this to run and and catch up but we'll give it a few seconds i'll pause the video here and we can wait for it to catch up okay so it's crazy it's finished here and we can kind of look at it here so if we go back to our sales order header we can see that it created sales order number 838 so now let's go over to our sales orders here go and enter a refresh and we should see 8.38 get created there it is 838 let this open up and then we should see our line there so we created our our sales order again we looked at the header information before but now we have our our item number you know picked up the description from the item number the quantity that we entered in our site and our warehouse etc etc okay so it created our line for us so again this this to me has got a lot of different applications that you can use this for anytime you're wanting to generate an invoice for a customer either through your app or through a flow periodically uh you can use this method to generate a sales sales order that you can then turn into an invoice okay so i hope you found some value in this i hope this is something you can use in your projects and and use make good use of if you did please give it a like or thumbs up and i'll put out a video about once a week so if you like this content feel free to subscribe and get notified when i upload a new video okay so again hope you enjoyed it until next time thanks for watching see you later bye [Music] you
