me I'm Dave Allred the real Barman pleasure to meet you all right I've been in the bar and restaurant industry for more than 30 years so I've used all the POS systems we're talking about today including the retail ones and although none of them are perfect in my opinion these are the four you should be looking at first okay make sure to use the links in the description and sign up for a questions and you can see how it works okay with that said let's get started number one on the list is Light Speed and this is no surprise a light speed has become the champion of POS systems and the great thing is that they're experts in both retail as they have been for years now as well as the restaurant industry with light speed restaurant okay they recently bought absurd POs to become the dominant restaurant POS system because of all the features and the remarkable analytics they adopted with that buyout okay now on both sides both retail and restaurant light speed is loaded with features and Integrations so you can customize your experience to be about anything you want and the best thing about Lightspeed is that because of its amazing analytics it's actually going to help you make money instead of just being a you know standby transaction system they are all about creating great customer experiences which you should be as well all right in addition you're going to find that light speed is incredibly intuitive and easy to use and when you sign up you get those analytic insights I mentioned that you won't find anywhere else as well as payment processing Inventory management and the shipping and that's all set up for you okay in fact one of the one of the favorite features on the retail side is the extensive Inventory management reporting capabilities this is where you can you know track returns uh negative quantities unit costs as well as sales Trends and in the retail space inventory is everything everything so it's important that you have a high level that you can go watch in fact right here is a light speed iPad demo you can go check out okay lightspeed's also perfect for hotels and just about any size business you have okay let's take a quick look at the advantages and disadvantages of using Lightspeed okay first off the advantages it's extremely intuitive and easy to use as I said it has competitive pricing outstanding reporting and analytics it's loaded with features excellent support it's in more than set has more than 75 integration and is in more than 100 countries um it has a free 14-day trial which is great A month-to-month option is available so you don't have to assign a long-term contract if you don't want the disadvantages are you have to use their payment processing this is becoming more and more common these days um this is what they use to collect customer information though so it's not really that big of a disadvantage unless you're in love with your payment processor if you are you're gonna have to use someone else uh in addition it's iOS only there's no Android okay so in my opinion light speed is the go-to POS system you should be using for both retail and restaurant okay but make sure to click the link and go sign up for a demo uh to make sure it's right for you and if you use that link you'll actually get up to two thousand dollars off your Hardware if you need that much Hardware which you won't find that deal anywhere else okay number two on the list is Shopify POS which you may not have been expecting but I'll tell you this there are 4.4 million e-commerce sites just just a loan built on Shopify and it's in more than 175 countries which is impressive so if you already have a Shopify account out this is fantastic for you but even if you're starting a new business or perhaps looking to switch the way you do things for your retail store Shopify is a great solution okay you might even want to switch over to a Shopify store if you don't like your current website or your platform uh and then obviously if you use their POS system it's going to integrate perfectly with your online brick and mortar store and all of your products okay now just to be clear you must have a Shopify account in order to use Shopify POS you can't just add Shopify POs to your retail store if you don't like you could with Lightspeed okay once you have a Shopify account you simply download the Shopify POS app and you're good to go in addition Shopify POS is very easy to use especially if you already use Shopify and once you sign up the plus plan includes all sorts of things like order management for local pickup and delivery purchase order creation Inventory management little stock alerts reporting for sales product product and staff performance discounting and more okay for pricing as I mentioned you have to have a Shopify subscription which ranges from 29 per month to 299 dollars per month though most won't need the 299 until you grow large enough which of course is the goal um and then for the POS system subscription you're looking at 79 per month so overall very affordable okay now to the advantages and disadvantages the advantages are very easy to use has extremely fast loading times there's 24 7 support which is great affordable pricing month-to-month option available flat rate processing fees which is a big one so they can't change those on you okay but you do have to use their processors um again disadvantages you have to have a shopper fire subscription like I just said there's additional fees if you don't use a Shopify payment so you actually don't have to use theirs but if you use someone else there's going to be additional fees which would just be silly okay and then there's no offline mode again if you have a Shopify account or you want a better website experience you can look to move to Shopify and then for anyone who has a Shopify account they should 100 be using the Shopify POS because they integrate so seamlessly okay number three on the list is rescue now I've talked about rescue before in some of my other videos I really like this company and what their po system can do uh so you know rescue is restaurant specific they do not have a retail POS so if you're here looking for a retail POS you'll want to move on to the next one on the list but if you're looking for a restaurant POS this is a very good one I would call it the best runner-up to light speed restaurant okay rescue is in fact a complete restaurant POS system for just about any size restaurant it comes with a range of features that include inventory management delivery management online ordering um Advanced kitchen display system gift cards marketing and promotion and Loyalty Rewards all of which are wrapped up in a nicely packaged bundle hey the system itself is extremely intuitive and easy to use you can see the main ordering screen here you can add picks and recipes for each menu item if you wish for your staff to uh so they can always see the ingredients that they have in there in addition they have customizable modifiers you can split checks transfer checks all that good stuff they have ingredient level inventory management and very good analytics to make help you make smarter decisions in your business okay in addition if you're a pizza place you will be very happy with rescue because it allows you to set up pizza customizations and modifications and non-pizza businesses don't know this but this can be very difficult and most po systems can't do this but rescue can okay for pricing rescue has a free plan for small businesses all the way up to 199 dollars per month depending on what you need okay let's take a look at some of the advantages and disadvantages of rescue advantages are they do have great customer service which is always important it's very easy to use for both front of the house and for managers it's modern and intuitive interface extremely affordable many of the features are free for life so you don't have to spend extra money on add-ons it's extremely customizable as far as the menu and floor design go and there's plenty of Integrations disadvantages you must again use their payment processing just like Lightspeed and it is also iOS only no Android so for Android lover you got to move on and like I already said uh it's it's not for retail that's not really a disadvantage I just want to make sure that you are aware again of that so in the end rescue is powerful it's flexible uh can help improve your operations and your customer experience so make sure to go check them out and sign up for a demo number four on the list is square POS now although Square does have a POS for restaurants uh I don't recommend it I would go with light speed or rescue and in fact overall square is not the most robust POS system if you have a business that really needs a lot of bells and whistles which I think your PO system should because this can help you make money square has limitations for what it can do but this video review is for small businesses and when it comes to Poss for small businesses Square can certainly do the job okay the good thing about square is that it is very basic and easy to use it does have plenty of features for you to get started with including inventory management employee management as far as tracking labor and hours Go customer management you can manually enter customer profiles if you wish so it's not as um it's not as advanced as light speed and doing that but you can add them if you want manually you can add on things like the Loyalty program marketing and payroll for an extra cost Square is Monitor it's very light and it swivels and so it's mobile so you can turn around and use it for a customer facing screen if necessary uh Square also has a nice little dashboard that provides all sorts of little information and tidbits to give you an overview of how your business is doing in different categories okay for pricing Square does have a free plan as well as 29 per month plan they also have a Premium plan which doesn't show how much it is on their site but it's basically 69 per month so I'm not sure why they feel the need to hide that advantages and disadvantages advantages it's very affordable which people love there is a free option available there's the customer facing display screen it's very easy to set up and use there's no long-term contracts and there's lots of Integrations disadvantages like I said it's just not as powerful as other po systems again you you get what you pay for uh customer service is not very good at all in fact there's no no phone support um so they have kind of poor customer service which is a big deal when you're looking for a PLS system it's not a good option if you have a lot of transactions so the more you grow the more it's going to cost you and you want to start looking at something else the reporting is limited um fund payouts are often delayed so you're not getting your your payouts sometimes they get hung up which a lot of people really get pissed at um and that's it so there you have it I tried to fly through as fast as you can to save you time I know you're busy we got lots to do but your PR system's so important okay so whether you're in the restaurant space or the retail space starting with one of these four systems will get you off to a great start click on any of the
