good afternoon and welcome to part 11 of how to start a recruitment business this is the stage where we're going to start to actually contact companies because we've set up your website we've got our business email and we've got our software to help us either record everything in the crm which is hubspot or we're going to use apollo.io to actually find email addresses my methods here will show you how to do all of that and i'm going to demonstrate exactly what i do how i send the emails how much emails i have to send and what sort of reply rate we're going to get back so i've shown you videos in the past where i've sent out emails and there's been responses and i've won clients this method has won me probably 80 of my business the rest have been sort of cold calling or one or two inbound over the years so this method is with the way to go and this is where recruitment is going at the moment and this is how to win business so it's via email send out a hundred emails a day i've done that for three months and picked up so much business we had to hire two resources for me and i was billing you know upwards of 50 60k per month on the permanent desk and that was a regular sort of nine to five um actually that was working less hours than the nine to five so what i want to look at is showing you exactly how to do it so i usually put it all into a spreadsheet before emailing you can email as you go i'm gonna show you both methods i've got five categories company name first name surname vacancy title and the email address that's all i need you can put linkedin profile you can put anything else after that that's totally fine so what i want to do is go back to indeed and you want to search what sector you're in so let's let's say we're looking for a uh how can we put it business development business development manager and we want to click find jobs so we want to search find out some companies obviously the the niche will be slightly smaller so i want to google the name of this company and before then actually what i need to do is filter out all staffing agencies so what that does it takes out all the recruitment agencies so you won't be contacting recruitment agencies from there so i think this company is not a recruitment agency so i put a name in just check them out quickly and i want to type linkedin at the end so i want to find their linkedin profile see how many people work there with linkedin usually more than 12 people will work there at a time so i guess this company may be too small but they actually have someone in hr so they might have actually a subsidiary company they seem to have quite a high level of board members in there as well and they are actually looking for someone so this would be the person to contact so what i'll do is i'll go into here and i'll have apollo io installed let's just close that for now and then show you what i'll do oh my god where was i and we'll just click apollo io it would open it up hopefully and you want to click a save to a polo and it will verify the email address here for this lady may have to refresh the page so it didn't pick up an email address which sometimes does happen unfortunately while i'm making a video it done it um we'll just we'll just do another one very quickly so this is what you're gonna gonna be doing most of the time a bit boring but you are actually aiming for that hundred mark once you hit 100 you're going to just wait for your inbox to fill up afterwards i can blast out emails um in the evening and then the next day i've just got email addresses coming in so this is a company again small but we'll search hr and see what comes up we can either type in recruitment with smaller companies you might just go to the business owner and we've got nothing there so i might home in on the search and change the search title um because it's it's quite small but we'll continue from there so click for chance i know for a fact they're gonna have someone because that's a a legal firm and then they're in the magic circle they're called clifford chance linkedin and they'll definitely have hr people in there so apologies for the bad examples but we'll go into people here and would i have a search hr i'm guessing because of their their sort of structure and i might search recruitment because on their profile it will pick up if they say i specialize in the recruitment of clifford chance you know i do this this this so this person's um is a graduate global head of recruitment so we can contact her and we can just click apollo io save and it's verified her email address and i'll just copy that there i've got my template already set up so what i'll do is copy there and if i'm doing it for a spreadsheet i'll put the email address i have a dual screen as well so that speeds things up so i can just put sarah langton and vacancy what is it bdm so i know what to put and it's clifford chance and that's one lead from there so going back to let me close this window going back to the email so i'll put hello sarah and we are a specialist business development niche development or sales sales focused and we're recruiting for a business development manager manager and wondered if you and then you can put your rates here so we can go 15 and you put your email address signature from there and you'll send it the title of the actual so i'll take that opportunity the title shouldn't be which is a lot of people going wrong with it shouldn't be we recruit blah blah blah because you won't get a good open rate you want to put a vacancy title so they think it's candidate or they think okay what's this involving that i've got that vacancy i'm recruiting for it and after that they'll open it and then it's just simple if you have a long sort of email address people are like i've seen people's email addresses and they're so long people don't read it most people i have about 60 to 80 percent open rate on mobile devices so most people open their emails on mobiles nowadays especially out of work hours and what you want to do is you want to get most of what the email is consisting of into the front so that would probably be about this much depending on the phone it might be that much so people can see okay they're emailing the offering recruitment service do i want it yes or no let me check out their company that's how it should be it shouldn't be what you do what you do this is what we do blah blah blah you want to specify this is a recruitment business we're offering the service and we're going to provide a good service this is our rate we're happy to talk afterwards that's all you need to send nothing more i've tried and tested so many so many templates and these are the ones that work i'll put a link in the description below to my email template so you can check that out and just download them drop and change it if you need to but i believe me i've tested it do not add more do not add another paragraph and this one performs quite well you mentioned you're making three to four placements per month with their competitors you can put that and or you can put your specific niche and it prompts them to sort of come back to you and say all right great he's finding candidates for my competitors i don't want to lose out so it it shows that you can deliver on that so that's pretty much it for lead sourcing what you're going to do afterwards is you're going to send that 100 100 emails will get you two to eight replies which is what i call my two to eight rule after that you come back you get your you get your email sent to your inbox hopefully pick up a client sometimes you may need to home your process in you may be emailing the wrong person that's why it's important to send a lot out if you send 30 out 25 will bounce you go through 20 of them might not be the right person and then one or two would be of interest or none will get back to you if you send out 100 maybe 90 will be to the correct person or go through or 80 and then the rest will be you know 50 of them won't be interested in 30 will 20 of them will say no and not reply 10 will five will reply and you get the idea two would say yes so the market is very tough at the moment spend that 100 if you want to send out more than 100 do so you can do over a few days but 100 is what you need to aim for to get the ball rolling i would say probably 600 emails you'll need to send before you actually start getting multiple clients out so it's not an easy task if you want to throw in cold calling in there i usually work off the ratio of one call equals two emails so if you want to do a ratio of 100 emails and you make 20 calls you can you have to send 60 emails because that that point is worth 40 calls or 40 points off that so i hope this video helped and just put through what we're going to be doing so at this stage you just want to be blasting out emails i've done this in one of my previous videos i showed you exactly what
