all right what's up guys rich McCoy again founder and CEO of Rivas energy and in this video today I wanted to talk to you guys about Legion okay winner is coming we know it gets hard it'll get slower we know there's the holidays people don't want to spend money people get out of solar because they're tired to knock and they go do something else they go back to school now is the time where all of us either Elevate our game we pause our game or we get out of the game all together in this video I want to quickly talk about the next wave of lead generation in Seoul if you've been in this space for some time you probably have an inbox just like mine that's full of lead providers guys that want to sell all different types of LinkedIn services that has all these promises promises promises that are often times left unfulfilled okay so I want to talk to you if you're tired of these Legion providers who over promise and under deliver don't understand our customer don't understand our processes take your money and leave you with just random numbers to call stay tuned in this video and I'd love to jump on the call for you to discuss how readers can keep your pipeline full this morning all right so before we jump into it guys I want to kind of give you guys a quick back story okay and a lot of you guys if you don't know uh sort of my history and kind of how I got started in in the Solar space in general I actually came into the space from marketing right I had a marketing agency prior to owning a Solar Company now the funny part about that is prior to owning a marketing agency I worked in Home Improvement sales right I was selling alarms I was running inside sales team outside sales team so I was very familiar with getting in the home knocking doors calling leads all that good stuff right so out of a lot of the the other trainers and guys you see on YouTube I'm not biased to the doors right I did honestly one of the best things I did early on in my career was at a time where I didn't really have the cash I invested in myself to learn Legion and typically you'll see guys who either they completely hate on the door so like knocking doors is dead like if you're still doing that I can hit x amount of doors in the hour blah blah blah blah or you know you got the guys who are like hey knock the doors are for the B for the Champions it's the freest fastest way to get the lead Etc I'm on all ends of the spectrum okay I'm all for people using whatever they have to be able to serve our clients and then take care of themselves so at no point in time will I not either or like right if you're doing leads if you're knocking doors we're all in this thing together let's do what we can but I would say You're really missing the boat if you're not doubling up on your strategies okay if you have a guaranteed appointment if you have three or four three four appointments that day you should be cloverleafing that that house right before the appointment and hitting that same block before and after that appointment so it is the only way to constantly keep that pipeline full because we know no shows happen you know reschedules happen and if you're afraid to knock a doorman I just simply don't know how you last that long in this space even if you're with the company that provides the appointments or you know how to generate your own leads as well let's back up I want to give you guys that this quick story of how I kind of got into the space so prior to getting into solar prior to Revis I worked for another Solar Company right prior to that company I own a marketing agency my interest in solar came once I kept looking at all the data about how big the opportunity was so me running my marketing agency we actually had a niche on personal injury attorneys dentists and then just small brands that we could easily kind of replicate and generate uh low proximity or smaller proximity lead generation for like coffee shops pop-ups and events and things like that so before I wanted to get into solar I wanted to learn the industry inside and out right so what I did prior to just calling all the solar business owners in the world is I wanted to immerse myself with the industry I didn't want to just approach another industry just from a lead standpoint I needed to know the customers inside and out I needed to know the sales process in and out I needed to just be totally immersed right so what do I do I go work for a Solar Company and then I quickly see how big the commissions are I quickly see how amazing the offer is for our homeowners and then I'm just like well I have Legion unlock and I have this background of Home Improvement else like I can do this so at that point I don't just run off and start a company right I'm at a company one of the 12th largest rooftop solar installers in the country at that time and I worked my way up from sales I quickly get promoted a couple times I'm managing multiple markets I'm hiring I'm training I'm doing the whole nine right well ultimately just had a vision to kind of do things differently a lot differently for both our front line sales people and then our customers as well and then you fast forward a couple years and that's how Revis was born so but again guys I came into this industry one of the few people who knows marketing and also knows sales so the things in the beginning all the processes that we that took us from zero to 30 million plus I'm bringing that to you guys unfiltered and for the first time ever offering our services and strategies B2B and markets that were not heavily in let's take a look all right guys so again so for the first time ever Revis is offering our Legion and call Center for B2B appointment setting for Seoul okay these are the same processes there's a management fee just to start out uh most of them float right around 2500 bucks this has nothing to do with your ad spend than if they're on Facebook or YouTube or whatever else that is a separate charge that you have to actually pay for them to actually put towards the ads now let's take Facebook for instance if you're not spending a minimum of 3K on Facebook uh over the course of the month Facebook really isn't giving you that much visibility so any traditional uh provider that you talk to is going to encourage you to spend a minimum of three thousand thirty five hundred per month on Facebook you have to do that to really play you have to do that to get that true visibility and if you're one of those people out there spending you know a couple bucks per day or whatever the case may be you're just throwing your money in the trash so even if you are working with these providers right and they're encouraging you to do the 3K Aspen at minimum they're not lying to you to get more money you need to spend that money in order to pay to play so let's take a look right you're already in about 5500 bucks just to get into the ball game they hit you with a 14 day or two week process to get you onboarded where you go back and forth about you know what ZIP codes and home and virtual all this other stuff then they've got to wait for their ads to buffer and yada yada yada right so 14 days and then all of a sudden the leads start coming in randomly so you have to chase and call the leads randomly as they come in sometimes you'll get you know some at 10 A.M sometimes you they'll come to you at 11 A.M 11 p.m right so you have to get on the phone and then become that appointment setter yourself and then to qualify them because they're still going to be renters they're still going to be 92 years old they're still going to just be tire kickers looking around right you still have have to essentially sell that lead and qualify that lead as they come in at random points in time and still taking up time energy and effort away from you sitting at the kitchen table right and then so we're calling the leads randomly as they come in and then oftentimes Guys these are resold to other companies at the same time right they may give you a week to two weeks to work on this lead but after that this is getting back door to either another marketing agency or another Solar Company in the same Market but that lead is not staying exclusive to you uh for weeks and months at a time it might be exclusive to you for a couple days or maybe even maybe even a week but it's not staying exclusive to you okay so let's take a look at it in most markets uh a good 3K Aspen can break down to about maybe about a 50 uh 50 bucks cost per lead right a CPL if you are good on the phones you can expect to convert about 20 of those leads into an appointment fairly quickly right so out of the 60 leads at a 20 conversion rate over the phone you have now booked 12 appointments that's not bad at all if you close at a 30 closing rate you get three sales out of that right so let's look at what we spent what we did over the course of that four weeks right so we booked 12 appointments because we converted 20 of our 60 leads that we spent 3K on and so over the course of four weeks we got three sales and we spent fifty five hundred dollars to get the three sales to call our own leads to qualify them and then to chase so many people in the between time to hear the no shows to heal the UN the unfit customers uh and then we got three sales and fifty five hundred bucks to show for it now the thing about solar guys is our margins are great so even if you are spending 500 bucks and you can manage to get three to four sales on it you're probably getting a small return on investment so it's gonna feel like okay we're doing it we're in the game the only issue with this is you're spending far more money than you technically could then there's a better faster way that does not take up your time energy effort and can be accomplished with half of the time and money spent so let's take a look at our options so there's zero management fee right we're not we're not taking a commission on the front end to bring you your appointments right so we're going to offer them as packages and also even a la carte for those small guys those Brokers those individuals who are trying appointments and then you close three out of the 12 right and then all of a sudden you look up four weeks later and you've got three three Deals from your fifty five hundred dollars spent whereas with can keep myself sharp so that I can know what someone else is doing that I'm not doing because they're doing it all day and my hands are tied in so many different spaces so I'm still going to work with providers we're just opening up our strategies and our call center and our processes to guys who could really use it and take their team to the next level uh throughout this quarter four and
