in this video I'm going to show you how to assign a prospect automatically so within par dot you can of course have prospects that aren't yet in Salesforce they don't yet have a lead or a contact that connects with that prospect record and this is a common thing if somebody fills out a form for example they might get pulled into part on and yeah and not yet exist in Salesforce when that happens the easiest way to push them into Salesforce is to assign them now on the prospect record itself you can manually assign somebody right here if they're unassigned there's a little link here that says assign and then you choose the user you'd like to assign them to but that's not very automated and part Ott's all about automation so let me show you how you could do that automatically go into the automations tab and create a new automation rule we can make this automation rule the Brian's assignment now at the most simple we'll add a rule in an action so the most simple would be to add a rule that that takes all prospects who are currently unassigned and then assign them to me so look for prospect assignment status and choose is not assigned and then for the action choose assign prospect in this case we're going to assign the prospect to a user but you could certainly assign the prospect to a user in a group or even to a queue on the Salesforce side but we'll just assign the prospect to a user and we'll choose me as that user so here we go everybody who's unassigned automatically gets assigned to me if you want to be a little more specific about which prospects you want to get assigned you can add additional rules you could add a limitation by state for example if my territory was the southwest I might say at all unassigned prospects from Arizona Calif New Mexico etc and assign them to Brian and so you've got a lot of flexibility when it comes to rules but at the end of the day you're probably just going to be choosing a specific user for that assignment role and then click create automation rule and you're almost done by the fall automation rules are created in a paused State we need to unpause it in order for it to run so click the COG on the right and click on resume now we're all set anytime there's an unassigned prospect they're automatically going to get assigned to me thanks for watching see you in the next video
