what we are talking about push strategies poll strategies increasing sales what to do when how it applies to your business and how to get the best results so you're actually making more sales in your business sound good all right good morning I am Penny Kelly with marketing profit school and I'm so happy to be here with you today and thank you so much for sharing a little bit of your day with me I want to make it worth your while and give you lots of strategies and tidbits that you can apply to grow your coaching or Consulting business or any other business based on expertise where you get clients client-based businesses so today let's talk about first of all let's get clear on the difference in push versus Paul because a lot of the information that you find out there is really derived from Old School print and media advertising related to Consumer packaged Goods so think about things that you pull off a Shelf at a retail Big Box store or grocery store where a push strategy is going to be a sliding fee or a promotion having some kind of incentive for retailers to put a stack of things on the floor right where you walk in by the produce or right on an end cap in an aisle those are going to be push strategies where we're pushing the product to get awareness right in front of the consumer so you're getting those impulse buys or you're going to be the first product they see in this category before they walk down the aisle where the rest of the competition is now in the poll strategies it's about generating buzz and awareness so maybe you do coupon polls you put a coupon in the paper people go in and ask for something they request that a store start carrying something things like that generating Buzz getting in the news getting it getting these days getting an influencer to use a product so people start asking about about it or it creates Buzz now for us and client-based businesses coaches and Consultants it can really be simplified when you think about it the highest best representation of wow our lives would be so easy a promotion or launch is pushing your offer out into the marketplace and referrals from Happy clients are pulling Coast customers closer to you so if you think about those two things and how you're pushing your offer into the marketplace or people are being pulled closer to you that is a base representation but let's dive a little bit deeper into it so push any kind of launch of promotion anything where you're putting your offer even just a social media post where you're announcing or asking if people need help with a problem and you have something that can help them solve it it can be a lead magnet it can be a strategy call it can be a discovery call it can also be an offer to enroll in a program it can be hey I have this thing that will help you do you want to learn more about it and you send them to a sales page or a video or the opportunity to book a call and learn more about it and this can also be contests and giveaways affiliate relationships networking groups that you're in where you promote each other's products and things of that nature this is all pushing your offers out into the marketplace through one Avenue or another one way where you're pushing into someone else's audience or into the audience in general a target market this is where paid advertising comes into all paid advertising is push marketing you're pushing your offers out into the marketplace and then in an Ideal World we would all make as much income as we want to live the lifestyle that we want impact all the people that we want to help and we would do it all with referrals right we wouldn't have to Market anything in our lives um that's not exactly how this works but it is nice to think about and it is the number one reason why it is so many times easier it's like seven or nine times easier to sell more to an existing customer than it is to acquire a new one so the way that we increase our retention and referral is by creating happy clients we want people to be so glad that they chose to work with us that they can't wait to come back for another round to stay engaged or to become an evangelist for us where they tell their friends and their audience about how great an experience it was to work with us so that is sort of the top tier that's at the top of the mountain that's where we want to be right if you're new when you're starting out you may not have a lot of those or you may be working toward that and that's okay the other ways that you can do this is with content so if we think about the nature of Attraction marketing where we are putting marketing out into the marketplace to pull our audience closer to us this is where audience research becomes so important this is our blog or other articles that we might write this is SEO content on our website this is social media marketing and this is not only how-to content if you're in like a B2B or you're teaching a skill to other people but this is also helping people solve problems so if you think about these symptoms of the big problem because most people are looking for solutions to symptoms not to the big problem we want to have some content that addresses both of these things and this is why a lot of us in this space I teach advertising I teach getting your funnel to get optimized and converting better and get better results I also have a mindset component with my coaching clients because a lot of times the reason we're not getting the results we want in our business doesn't have anything to do with dotting the eyes and crossing the t's it has to do with self-sabotage or lack of self-belief or something else going on some limiting beliefs that we have somewhere so they all tie in together right and so with that whole marketing this is the reason we need and ultimately if we think of it as the business drives push marketing we decide when a promotion is going to happen we decide when to push things into the marketplace the consumer decides pull marketing it's consumer driven versus business driven and the way that we influence the poll marketing is by doing all the things in our power to have the right message in front of the right person at that right time when they're looking for that solution so this is a regular content creation strategy this is sharing content on the social media platform or platforms of your choice you do not have to be everywhere choose one or two platforms and be consistent that is better if you've worked with me or taken a course before I always teach that consistency is more important than frequency if you can only post one two or three times a week do that at least you know a couple times a week and make it good quality content versus feeling like you need two three five eight posts a day and then you post for a month and then you don't post anything for three weeks that's worse because then it's these are about trust signals right you're consistently showing up you're a professional people can trust that you're going to be a professional in the work that you do with them so it's not always the case but it is one of the factors that goes into building that trust with your audience that may become clients that want to work with you and also having a mix of content where maybe there's a little bit of how-to and this and that and some strategy and some tactic but also problem solving so think about solving problems and how to and how you mix those together into a rich content creation strategy so that you're really helping people and you're staying top of mind you know Jay Abraham talks about his theory of preeminence where you are the best and you literally become a category of one when you focus on improving your skill set constantly you have a very high standard regarding your customer service and your customer experience and you think about it as I want to be the Ritz Carlton choice so when you are the best and you are communicating in a quality way with your audience you become the only logical choice for them when they get to that buying decision and you further yourself in that category of one when you wouldn't have a proprietary name for your process or a framework that is really what can set us apart and there there have been other videos about that you can go back and look in the History either where you're seeing this video or on my YouTube channel and you can find that which is also marketing profit school so just to recap this because I am going to try to keep it under 15 minutes today um push business driven you're pushing your off right into the marketplace outbound marketing this is cold calls DMS this is also any kind of promotion or launch that's going on um affiliate programs things like that things that incentivize people to buy pull marketing is SEO content social media marketing it is also happy clients that want to tell their friends and that is the easiest one to do is just do our jobs well take care of our clients so that they want to refer their friends to work with us so I hope that you have found this really helpful today and that it can help you increase your sales with both push and pull marketing strategies in place and again I'm Penny Kelly with marketing profit school and I look forward to seeing you next time here on the page or on the channel wherever you're watching this video if you want to learn about working with us then you can find a link somewhere around this video to learn about that as well thanks have a great day
