if your business charges customers for work done by the hour then this quickbooks desktop tutorial is for you hi i'm amy from razer accounting and if you're enjoying the content on this channel please hit that subscribe button below and also hit the little bell next to subscribe that will give you a notification every time i post something to this channel in this quickbooks desktop tutorial i'm going to show you how to use the time sheets feature to invoice your customers for work that's done on an hourly basis the first step is to record the billable time so go up to the top menu where it says employees select enter time and in this example i'm going to use the weekly timesheet the next thing to do is select the employee that you're going to be recording the billable time for under the column that says customer job use the drop down menu to select the customer that you're going to be billing time for next in the service item select the service that they're going to be billed for you can use the notes column to leave any notes that you would like to show up on the invoice next fill in the weekly timesheet with the hours that you're going to be invoicing your client if you have more billable time that you would like to enter in you can go ahead and do that now using the rows below but in this example i'm just going to go ahead and select save and close and move on to the invoicing next you want to go ahead and open up create invoices select the customer that you're going to be billing choose the option to add the billable time to this invoice and then select okay as you can see all of the billable time that has been entered has come up and you can check off each day that you're going to be billing on this invoice once you're finished selecting the days that you would like to bill go ahead and select okay now all of that time has been added to the invoice if you have any other items you can add them into the invoice now using the drop-down menus but if you're finished you can go ahead and select save and close or you can go ahead and print your invoice if you're ready to print now all that's left to do now is submit your invoice to your customer and get paid so that's all for this quickbooks desktop tutorial on how to bill your customers by the hour using timesheets and quickbooks if you have any questions about this please leave a comment on this video and i will be happy to answer your question as quickly as i can and if you like this video if you found it helpful please leave it a like and don't forget to subscribe to the channel thank you for watching [Music] you
