this is James Fox with another video tutorial for QuickBooks Pro 2013 in this tutorial I'm going to show you how to add a signature file to each of your companies checks so basically what this means is instead of having the owner or management sign each individual check you can save a signature file on your computer to be used when checks were printed for example here is a sample check that was printed and if you look towards the right you'll see the signature file that I used for this check now here is the signature file now before you get started you must have an authorized signature placed on an all white background the best option is to have an authorized manager or owner sign the middle of a 3x5 index card after that 3x5 index card is signed by an authorized owner or manager you must and the index card and save it on your computer and now I'm going to show you how to add that signature to each check so click on the pay bills icon here on the QuickBooks homepage or you can click on the vendors menu and then select paint bills I'm going to quickly select a bill to be paid and then click the pay selected bills button here in the payment summary dialog box I'm going to click print checks now in these select checks to print dialog box there is a check mark placed next to the check to be printed so I'm going to click OK now in the print checks dialog box if you take a look on the right side you see a button labeled signature click signature and now you'll see these signature dialog box on the right side you'll see the button labeled file click that button and then navigate to the signature file that you have already scanned in your computer then click open now the signature should be placed in the selected signature area so click OK now I'm ready to print my checks including my signature so I'm going to click print and here is the cheque that is printed with the signature file that I just add and that's how you add a signature to a check if you have any questions please send me an email once again this is James Fox and I'll see you next time
