[Music] what's going on everybody this is living in arizona now and today we're coming to you from chandler down here in the southeast valley just south of tempe and east of all watuki also if this is your first time to the channel you can subscribe and turn on the bell to get notified every time we drop a new so here's a little bit of information about chandler it is a suburb in the metropolitan area of phoenix with a population estimated around 265 000 people as of the most recent census this area of phoenix is known for its technology jobs intel has a main campus here godaddy is also just down the road and there's a few other technology firms around chandler tempe and mesa here as you can see we're driving around ocatillo neighborhood the average median house price sells for around 320 000 on the low end all the way up to around 500 000 in that range around chandler there are some that are a little bit more expensive bigger homes on lakes around ocotillo but uh you guys get the idea now as we're cruising down arizona avenue here this is downtown chandler downtown chandler is coming around and it is getting more of a foothold with the locals as it's building more bars and more of the nightlife scene even uh brunch and afternoon dining but we're going to take a look around this area of downtown chandler here they have these nice town home communities here where you can get a house on a lake or on a golf course they're all across chandler there's also one near the airport the chandler municipal airport this here is the san carlos golf course near downtown pretty nice golf course if you're looking for a place to play [Music] all right so now we're going to get out of the car and show you guys around downtown chandler but i'm going to give you some history about the settlement of chandler so it's named after dr alexander john chandler and he was a veterinary surgeon in the arizona territory at the time of 1890s so he acquired about 18 000 acres in the area which is now chandler and he set up a ranch and then that eventually became a city which got incorporated and you can learn about all of that at the chandler museum [Music] and there's also another museum in this area called the railroad museum if you wanted to compare the two i would say you should probably check out both but they do say that the railroad museum is more interesting than the chandler museum so most of chandler's economy was really successful during the great depression uh due to the uh industry that was out there primarily being cotton and on this day you can notice there's a little bit of haze in the air that's from the smoke of the california wildfires that's actually carrying over here into phoenix we've been dealing with this haze uh here in the summer of 2020 now for a couple couple days already so it's not necessarily our air quality that's bad it's the fires in california anyways i also want to ask you guys if you enjoy this video to crush up the likes and drop moving if you're anything like me and you like craft brew they do have quite a few breweries down here like the santan brewery and some of these other local pubs that you can go to so that's what's really cool down here in uh chandler downtown area we also got some tacos you know lots of mexican restaurants and other types of cuisine for you to enjoy like i said for breakfast lunch or dinner just depending on the time you're there i guess and the time of year because if it's the middle of summer who wants to go out and sit outside in downtown chandler and 110 degrees right anyways so there's more to chandler than just this downtown area we're going to take you guys all the way over to the gila river reservation where they have a casino they have rawhide and they have a couple other places out there big resort sheraton resort and the wild horse pass speedway for those of you who are into motorsports i also wanted to show you guys around these uh nascar and motorsports scene because these raceways are really popular with locals so when you moved arizona or if you already live here you probably know this but off-roading and also speedways are very popular things for people to take in also bmx bike so if you guys want me to get more into videos like that let me know in the comments if you guys if any of that stuff interests you like the raceway stuff also horseback riding rodeos a roping stuff like that [Music] this whole area of southeast phoenix is considered a good place to raise a family you can see plenty of things to do lots of parks trampoline parks and uh being a kid in chandler is a pretty good gig i'll tell you that right now also the high schools out here tend to be highly competitive when it comes to the state championships hamilton and some of the other high schools out here in chandler every year are contenders for state titles in football and basketball and here's a little bit more of an in-depth look of the ocotillo neighborhood just outside of downtown it's off of ocotillo road that's how you know you're in ocotillo neighborhood and uh yeah [Music] the top employers around chandler are intel chandler unified school district wells fargo bank of america and the chandler regional medical center also paypal has a big office out here and then northrop grumman so anyways nxp semiconductors quite a few different places out here this is a look at the intel campus the site where there's 11 000 employees for intel working out here and that's pretty big isn't it now we'll head back out onto the road here on chandler boulevard and show you guys around the chandler fashion center so this here is one of the big malls out here it's an indoor mall they do have another mall that we'll be showing you later in this video it's the uh outlet malls near gila river community [Music] [Music] so as you can see they got the chandler village and this is actually where the chandler museum is and now we'll head over to the gila river casino area where wild horse pass is there's two casinos over here one raceway a large sheraton resort a museum and the speedway among other things that they keep adding and building as they continue to develop this area kind of like what they have going on in scottsdale with talking stick this is a look at the hotel at the casino it's actually undergoing renovations as they're developing a pretty nice outdoor pool area uh that is scheduled to be completed by fall 2021 [Music] so [Music] and here's a look at the premium outlets here they're called the phoenix premium outlets but they're in chandler just off the i-10 across the street from the casino hotel this is an outdoor mall but they've got all of the brand names that you could possibly want at this outlet mall here [Music] do [Music] [Music] so if you're planning to move to chandler do familiarize yourself with this wild horse pass area on the gila river casino uh reservation area also we'll drive around here and show you guys this really cool sheraton resort if you're just looking for a hotel maybe even a staycation uh consider this one assuming the price fits your uh budget [Music] [Music] this here is a look at the veterans oasis park in chandler this is more of east chandler but uh you can fish here and a place to just kind of relax it's right next to the police station actually but you can see right here
