searches for it so we figured we'd recover it but everyone in florida everything you need to know about moving to colorado let's do it here we go what's up guys we are the mile high property brothers we are the guys who answer the emails to um from the website so excited to help you a fun one today we're gonna get right into it uh folks moving from florida everything needs to know when it comes to moving to colorado however before you come off of this video because you're like hey i'm not i'm not living in florida even though i'm coming to colorado and house isn't for me there's a lot of things in this video that might still be for you even though you're not coming from florida so it's more about just if you're not from colorado maybe you're from the east coast or just not from colorado like there's gonna be some things that i think are across the board just important for you guys to hear so everybody that's watching really appreciate the support and all the feedback that you guys give us so please keep an open mind and see if any of this applies to you however if you are from florida and i find out you haven't watched this video before you holler at us you got homework [Music] [Music] so do [Music] [Music] before we get into that we're in southeast aurora right now we are at the blackstone country club in southeast aurora by rockstar yeah by blackstone we're just out there this is e propper aurora and we have not done a blackstone video but we are out here because we were in southeast war we were visiting the inspiration community and we want to give a shout out to one of our clients that we worked with from youtube omkar and prachi checked on your house today it's doing amazing we're closing on it next week january 5th you guys got a brand new home yeah super stoked for you guys we also live close and it was convenient to make a video out here so we're gonna go ahead and do it all right guys so what without further ado oh here's some more of our clients welcome to how we're going to finish the video some of us have jobs so without further ado let's get into the first and most obvious difference between colorado and florida the weather listen i know a lot of you are not going to like this but it's facts and we've fact checked this did we have more sunny days in colorado than florida yeah i guess we do have snow but as you can see or for giving you guys some beer right now there's snow on the ground right now however in colorado snow doesn't stay very long it tends to melt very quickly the sun comes back out we've got a lot of sunny days 150 something sunny days versus florida you guys are like 100 mark yep you're barely breaking par we're actually more sunny here we're actually a lot more friendly here people say hi to each other um what you do want to know about the weather though is when it comes to like altitude it's a little dry here so even in the winter believe it or not especially if you're up at altitude skiing and the sun's out you're going to want to make sure you have some sunscreen you know make sure you bring some chapstick the dryness is just a little bit different here versus how moist it is down in florida and again even though it's cold believe it or not you can still get burned my lips are real bad a couple other key things about the weather guys make sure if you're coming out here that you've got either a front-wheel drive car or an all-wheel drive car if you've got a front wheel you're you're probably gonna be okay for the most part again we don't have two crazy huge snowstorms you know too often during the winter so you'll probably be okay but eventually you'll probably want to work on getting a four-wheel drive listen eli's my car guy i'm the car guy you know listen you want a four-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive front-wheel drive yeah you got a little bit of weight in the front with the engine so you get some traction from the front wheels it's not as good as you might think and nowadays you're gonna want it most cars are all-wheel or four-wheel make sure you have those options especially if you are moving to colorado it's not just about getting by and getting through traffic it's about getting up to the mountains and exploring and enjoying everything that colorado has to offer yes final thing on the weather we do have four seasons here so even though we're hitting heavy on the snow and that being the biggest difference um from florida to colorado four seasons falls amazing autumn if you're pretentious but fall around here summers are great they're hot they're dry but they're hot um a lot of fun and all four seasons regardless you have plenty to do up in the mountains and everywhere across colorado so whether it's watching the leaves fall in aspen snowboarding skiing hiking in the sun in the summer white river water rafting that's a hard one it's a lot of fun to do it's really hard to say you're gonna want to get out and explore that but again the four seasons are phenomenal it's always something to do yeah in springtime you're going to get hail but you're not going to get hurricanes right so i'll take hail over her candy stay tuned because our final point today you have a hundred percent chance of not having this happen to you which is phenomenal how often do you get a hundred percent chance of having some prayer super rare um don't quote us on that in case your neighbor has one and we don't know about it we don't wanna hear about it but we're super excited to get the last one so stay tuned alright guys number two we're not going to get stuck in the weeds on this but we do feel it's worth mentioning colorado is very progressive so whether we've been a red state or a blue state before the main thing out here in colorado is you don't see a ton of um issue compared to some of the other states especially maybe like a florida a little bit more dominant so you do have some thinkers out here in colorado things do matter to people out here but they tend to be a little bit more open-minded versus super strong to the left or super strong to the right and it definitely mitigates just a lot of public problems that you might have in not only florida but some other states i don't want to get too stuck on that because obviously a lot of things are subjective but based off of what websites and the polls are talking and just us living here me being a native here you never see one side that's just overly angry or having issues with the other side a lot of people just tend to be man right in the middle we're a pretty purple state yeah and what we mean by progressive too it's just that um you know colorado again with like marijuana legalization which that's gonna be the first thing a lot of you guys kind of bring it up for reference yeah they are open to trying new things and and just keeping an open mind on um political stances so so again not to go political one way or the other but just call out is pretty purple come here have a good time smile say hi help your neighbor don't bring any drama just be here and uh be for the betterment of the state some good wise words right there there we go that politician enough for you yeah okay number three i don't know why i'm starting this one off but i'm gonna go ahead and kick it off hey kick off hey number three we've got a great sports culture out here yep not always a great team uh the broncos have won a couple of super bowls we've done a great job there we've had some off seasons if you're from florida and you're uh you're any fan from florida you definitely understand off seasons and just having a rebuild or a rebuilding season you guys are used to that as far as the fan base and the energy and culture of bronco games and rocky games and avalanche games definitely a lot of fun and for the most part like the coaching staff and the standard here for professional sports nuggets i don't know why i forgot them you gotta win out here it's a good it's a good culture it's a lot of fun to get out there bronco games are the best obviously post kobe when we can go back and fans are pretty fun bronco fans are pretty fun um nobody too extreme there but it's a lot of fun to have a couple beers and enjoy it so if you do enjoy sports and you're still wanting to have that type of culture we will welcome you into bronco country we'll welcome you into the family don't wear dolphin jerseys here i don't know why you're dolphin fan don't get me started however come here have a good time and if you do enjoy sports and culture or bar and grills on weekends or actually go to the stadium a lot of fun stuff definitely something to to enjoy next one lost count deal with it number four traffic believe it or not websites polls are saying that we're better with traffic here in colorado versus florida so i don't know if it's a population thing combined with just roadways but colorado it seems as a whole isn't a great job as far as just roadways and public transportation and how they're they're lotting that out as far as expansion and just predicting what's to come we're actually going to be the lack of tourists man who knows i bet tourists check that out well i know like a lot of places in florida get congested because you've got little beach towns yeah everybody wanting to just dive down into into one area yeah you get some of that in like san diego or everybody wants to dive into certain areas in san diego but here in colorado things are pretty spread out and the rocky mountains are phenomenal it's not just about the rocky mountain national park from all the way up north all the way down south into as low as the springs and even below the springs you've got phenomenal areas to go to uh telluride one of them that's down south grand junction that's down south you've got a ton of cool stuff with the rocky mountains and it's all the way from top of the state to bottom of the states nothing really gets bottlenecked and i think that might help yeah the worst traffic that you'll find uh in colorado is if you're trying to head up to the mountains you're taking i7 you're heading up to the mountains on a friday evening 4 30 in the afternoon or yeah or you're coming down from the mountains on i-70 on the side yeah on a sunday afternoon yeah that's the worst time today to get traffic leave early friday take a day off from work leave early friday or or you know what like go up saturday morning but then maybe come back on monday and take a day monday there's ways of dodging and i'm sure if you're coming from florida anywhere else there's ways of like navigating the traffic where you're at i'm sure everybody deals with it to an extent so just get creative to get out for work have some fun enjoy whatever has to provide just dodge that traffic speaking of traffic going back from vegas to southern california terrible one of the worst yeah don't make that happen yeah guys and for our general like rush hour traffic on on day to day living out here the good thing about together will get it will get congested on i-25 in like a couple different areas right where you have a lot of people merging on the highway but the thing about it our traffic is never gridlocked dead stopped the traffic's moving it might slow down but you're moving and you know it's not uncommon to hear natives complaining about the traffic just because that's kind of the thing and natives don't have a perspective on florida or southern california where traffic is actually bad right right right so just something to keep in mind there absolutely all right and number five cost of living cost of living so um just looking at some data between comparison sites between florida and colorado to give you guys a little reference point denver the city and county of denver compared to tampa florida overall you're going to be looking at about 19 percent higher cost of living in denver than you would in tampa florida correct so take the how you may i'm not sure how familiar you are of your own areas in florida where you're coming from if you have any direct questions about that let us know more importantly yes we understand it does cost more here however but you can't put a price on it's reliably good that's right and what's a hundred percent going to happen in colorado what's that attacks or death from sharks and alligators that is true it ain't happening it it hasn't been 100 down it's 100 down it hasn't happened yet we'll put it that way 20 price increase for a hundred percent life insurance yeah talk about cost of living prevented from sharks and alligators talk about cost of living holy cow especially with kiddos and things like that you just never know it's important to me it is important to me you're not gonna catch me down there little kid was snatched up at disney world yeah no kidding it's it's out of control um not gonna happen here true no and and just speaking of like since we're speaking about wildlife right like altitude just giving you some some tit for tat here no we don't have sharks and alligators and believe it or not we don't have a lot of anything right so as far as like spiders in your basement or snakes got some bugs in florida i know that we have none compared to what you guys have the last time i saw a spider in my basement i've got an unfinished basement in my home we've got some studios built out like if there were spiders we'd see them i think i saw one like five months ago yeah yeah and it was one yeah um the snakes we don't have a huge snake issue here you do have some in the mountains you're hiking or running trails in the summertime here and there not a high collection not like a florida or arizona yeah you just definitely don't have it here and i think it is because we are a dryer climate and we are also at altitude because arizona superdry but we're at altitude here as well i think that changes things don't quote me on that check out your bill nye the science guy the bottom line is what's most important you don't have a lot of those issues when coming to colorado so that's definitely something to look forward to a little bit drier climate but no wildlife when it comes to creepy crawlers that you have to deal with i'm sure a lot of you are going to appreciate that and be impressed with how much you don't have that well that's it guys that is probably not all of the things that are different between colorado and california it's a great start to get you into the conversation with us yeah we have more conversations let us know
