insurance claims and payouts scenario number one you as the homeowner file a claim as an individual and you either get denied or you get approved for a minimum repair that's the first thing one of the most common things that happen number two you're a homeowner that files that claim on your own and the insurance adjuster actually takes care of you correctly you know so you actually have enough money to do that job you might even have enough money to offset your deductible does happen doesn't happen a whole lot but it does happen and option number three you hire somebody to assist you in recouping those funds that somebody could be a public adjuster it could be a contractor it could be some kind of a consultant anybody that's getting involved in helping you to recoup this money from your insurance company okay and the reason that we're talking about this is today I met an adjuster out here in Georgia nice guy in when we got done with the claim you know he made a remark about how he didn't like public adjusters because he thought that we took too much money from the client and by the time they had to pay us by the time the client pays us they don't have enough money to then do the job that's absolutely ridiculous ladies and gentlemen public adjuster I'm sorry insurance adjusters don't like us because you know we can make their lives hard and of course we take a fee just like everybody else we take a fee now most public adjusters we get paid in different brackets so the higher the larger the law sellers are the claim the fee goes down excuse me so on some smaller claims our fee can be pretty high but I want to tell you guys whoever assists you and recouping the money makes a lot of it so right now I'm going to expose a secret of roofing contractors so um let's talk about that fee so I did this as a storm damage contractor in Toledo Ohio for five years okay so I know these numbers pretty inside and out so let's say my average claim was 423 square a 23 square roof okay the average payout on something like that was like maybe $10,000 on average that my actual cost and what I mean there is labor material dumpster everything it takes to do that job on average cost me anywhere between 5,000 and $5,500 the rest of that money goes straight to the bank now of course there's some administrative charges you got to pay your salaries and you got to keep your lights on and so it's reasonable for you know a contract to make some money because they're not you know doing work for free but a lot of the money that they make after that job go straight in their pocket the same thing for any kind of a consultant or a public adjuster so on the higher side our fee is only around 30% somewhere in that general area if you listen to the example that I just told you most of time it only costs about 50% of that insurance claim to actually get your work done the problem is there's a lot of contractors out there that are price gouging the crap out of you and putting a lot of that money right in their pocket so guys understand one way or another if you have somebody assist you in filing the insurance claim you're gonna pay for it but look what you're gonna get as a result we're gonna make it happen okay if you want to go through the frustrations now this person to the story I'm telling you about Allstate adjuster got denied big surprise there right so we're gonna go about it in a back way if you paperwork and we're gonna drag things on we're gonna fight them that way but a lot of times insurance claims are hard to win and that's why it's smart to hire a consultant a public adjuster a contractor they deserve to be paid for it they all make about the same percentage you know something close you'll still have enough money to do your job don't believe the insurance adjuster that tells you that we're not earning our money and that you're not going to have enough to do your job they're lying to you guess what they don't like us they don't want us involved in that job of course they're gonna badmouth us we're their enemy were the people that are going against them we represent you we're advocates for you guys they represent the
