How to eSign a document: e-signature legitimacy for General Power of Attorney in Australia

hi this is Fred Neiman of Hamlin Neiman Wright and Estate Planning and Asset Protection Law Firm practicing elderwald and power of attorney law in all 21 counties in the state of New Jersey my topic today has to do with Powers of Attorney and whether it is a good idea to require more than one signature for financial transactions that exceed a certain dollar amount now most times we do powers determining and we'll name one sometimes alternating Powers of Attorney and we really don't include Provisions which require joint signatures if the sum being withdrawn or transacted is greater than a specified dollar amount someone recently asked me whether it would be good idea to do that which made me think and so I would say in certain circumstances it would make sense but I want you to be aware of the following practical problem when you require joint signatures it means both Powers of Attorney have to participate in the signature and both have to ratify the authorization if they disagree it can't happen so while it is a way of protecting against the inappropriate withdrawal of funds by a power of attorney it does add complications an alternative might be the appointment of a financial monitor we're going to talk about financial monitors in my next video so take a look at that we'll read it over listen to what I'm about to say and if you have questions if I can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me
