jane just made a purchase of two items and sent an invoice request so that's what we're going to use for the example in this video is how to do that invoice request [Music] so here i have an action needed in my messages it says please send buyer total and it's going to say total amount it's just cut off right there so i'm going to click on this ebay message and that's what it's asking for is the invoice request jane purchased a nfl men's patriots grade t-shirt extra large short sleeve and also a vintage ace cadet lift top stapler and it's actually a stapler it's got bakelite and that's not in the title or description but most of those old staplers are like a bakelite handle so they're very popular and they sell for good money uh now the shirt sold for 9.99 plus shipping and the stapler sold for 12.99 plus shipping so when i click up here to send invoice so as you can see right here there's the amount the shirt was 9.99 and the stapler was 12.99 and because there was shipping added to both those 12.85 cents now becomes the total for the shipping cost well that's not gonna be that much plus if you look it says sc tax right here well that's because jane's in south carolina and she's being charged eight percent tax for both those items so i'm going to give her a cost adjustment not because of the tax but because she's a viewer and she purchased two items for me she's made purchases before and she supports the channel so i really appreciate it so the first thing i'm going to do is normally you'd want to take these items go weigh them out and get your exact total amount well i pretty much know what the weight of these are because they were both first class shipping but together they're going to be over one pound which would be priority so the first thing i'm going to do is change first class to priority mail and then i'm going to go ahead and reduce this now we're going to send this out by a flat rate envelope probably and that's going to cost me anywhere about eight dollars maybe a little bit more so we're going to give her a discount and we're only going to charge her eight dollars so we'll take four dollars and 85 cents off of the shipping and we're also going to provide an adjustment because jane again is a viewer supporter of the channel has purchased me from before and i try to give discounts to people that make purchases or i find some way of doing something that'll offset costs a little bit if i can or if i'm notified in advance then what i'll do is i'll type right here you can do a discount or you can actually charge because sometimes when items are put together especially if there's free shipping on one and charge shipping on another you can actually combine all those items and charge more because of the shipping cost but in this case we're going to do a discount and we're gonna do a five dollar discount so that marked it all down now the total shows twenty two dollars for two items a shipping price of eight dollars which is right here and an adjustment which we did the discount of five dollars i can't change the estimated sales tax and i'm not going to because ebay takes that and automatically does it for me so i don't have to which gives an estimated total of 28 dollars and six cents and we're going to leave a message right here and i'm telling jane thank you very much and i'm telling her i've also given her a discount for the shipping and five dollars for just basically saying thank you it's a cost adjustment for the support and now i'm going to click right down here this is on mac checked right here it says email copy invoice i always leave that because it's a good thing that that gets shipped to your messages especially in future if you ever had a problem and you had to contact ebay you could show them that you have a message and you show them the invoice that was sent so now at this point in time i'm going to click send invoice and you can also preview it i forgot to tell you you can also preview the invoice let me show you that real quick so this would be the pr the preview of the invoice that she's going to receive and basically it looks like the same screen so i'm not going to need don't need to make any changes uh i can print this off if i want to take it and print it and stick it into the box all right next we'll just go ahead and click send to invoice and once we've done that then the invoice has been sent your invoice has been sent to the buyer so what happens next the buyer will receive the email shortly they can pay you based on the instructions and the payment method
