on our next tip of helping you make 2022 the best year yet with 17 hats we are going to talk about automatic past new invoice reminders some of you have still not turned these on even though we have had invoice reminders or past due invoice reminders for so long so if you have not or you're not quite too sure if you have turned on your automatic past due invoice reminders these are emails let's go through the steps and let's see so you're going to go up to your account settings you're going to go to email settings and you're going to slide over to reminders from reminders you're going to see a variety of different reminders that you can possibly turn on again this might change a little bit depending on what 17 apps plan you have but you want to scroll down to invoice reminders and you can see that my invoice reminders are turned off for this account they are all grayed out so i am going to decide on which ones i want to turn on so i do not want to turn on upcoming reminders an upcoming reminder would say you have an invoice due in two days or three days whatever you want your settings to be i would like to turn on the set reminder for past due so to do that i'm going to go ahead and slide my toggle button on and press edit here you're going to be able to see your settings for your invoice reminder past due when do you want us to send emails i want 70 hats to send an email one day after due date so this is completely up to you if you want an email sent two days after due date 3 four five days after due date again your preference i'm going to stick with one and then how often do you want that email to repeat i want it to repeat weekly i think daily is a little much but i'm going to have it repeat weekly and i'm going to have it end after let's say 10 occurrences this means all together they're going to receive 11 emails from me saying the invoice is past due the invoice is passed due the invoice is passed due so that is going to be your settings up top below is going to be your email that is actually sent so you're going to be able to adjust your subject line however you wish right now my subject line is your invoice is now past due you can obviously customize this however you wish below is going to be the context of your email so hi first name using the this is a friendly reminder that the invoice from company name is now past the due date please take a moment to review and pay it thank you at the bottom 17 hats will automatically add a button that will link to your invoice okay so they will be able to access the invoice from this email so you don't need to worry about that we're going to add that for you but you can go ahead and jazz this email up so if you look at s and you scroll all the way down you'll be able to see invoice number total amount due outstanding amount due date all of these lovely invoice s that you can use let's go ahead and adjust this template this is a friendly reminder that invoice i'm going to put the number sign and then i'm going to add the invoice number so that would read this is a friendly reminder that invoice 123 for insert we're going to add outstanding amount so invoice for 550 55 dollars from pasadena staging is now past the due date please take a moment to review say your invoice and pay so here we go we jazzed it up a little bit so it has a little bit more personalization to it so they can automatically see the outstanding invoice amount and they can see the invoice number so again those s are just going to be placeholders with information directly from the invoice i'm actually going to tailor this a little bit more please take a moment and review and pay your invoice by clicking the button below right because there's automatically going to be a button below thank you and if you want to use a signature you can definitely use a signature and that's it i've jazzed it up i've made it personal to them i've added my signature i've adjusted my settings which would make sense for me i'm going to press save so that means that your invoice your past due invoice reminders will go out based on your settings if you have anything that is past due right now those clients will receive a reminder tomorrow so reminders are sent out each morning so if you have anything that is past due in your invoices just know reminders will be sent out for them the next day i hope that helps i hope that keeps you from chasing money now your clients will automatically be reminded they will have a quick link so they can access the invoice and pay your invoice really quickly and if you have not turned on online payments for them to pay invoices please please please go do that you will not regret it something really important to allow people to pay you quicker because the harder you make it for them to pay you the less they will pay you so there's another quick tip for making 2022 the best year yet with 17 hats
