[Music] here we are at Daddy and daughter's metal recycling in Troy Maine he's one of the largest metal recyclers in the state of Maine and purchasing Vehicles what do we have in common there folks we want to buy car parts you want to be with the number one recycler in the state of Maine he is one of the first guys I ever started out with and this is where I buy most of my parts sometimes I like to get out of the office and I like to actually get my hands dirty one of my favorite parts of doing this job is getting in the vehicles random vehicles that people have brought in or sold or whatever and taking all the parts out myself I like to get my hands dirty now as I was growing I used to hire people we'd come as a whole team and just dismantle whole garage whole junk yards so now I've kind of evolved past that I offered the junkyard a little bit more money they pull the parts for me and now I don't even get to do this anymore but I still come here in my free time I still interact with my vendors I still greet and Shake people's hands and I still talk to people [Music] so here we are in a 2010 Kia Forte I can't say I've ever been in one although vehicle makes and models don't change that much I've been inside of Kia Rio so everything's kind of new and getting in a vehicle but it all kind of comes apart the same way it's really simple and it's really easy folks you can break you can break stuff smash stuff but the actual part you're not breaking all right you take your drill [Applause] simple as that look at that this retails on eBay for about 29.99 [Music] so again we just broke some of this broke some of that we took it out really aggressive you're trying not to break your parts but this is just a trim simple as using a Phillips there you go you have a perfectly good part you got rid of the trim that piece might be valuable to you and you might want to look it up again I haven't been in this vehicle but this is the piece I'm going to take today and later I'll do some more homework about that and learn more about this vehicle foreign folks we already kind of took the plug up before we shot this but it's as simple as that just you taking a car part off a door right here we don't know what this is worth again 2010 Kia Forte no idea I'm gonna grab it low hanging fruit [Music] we just got other parts and we're ready to weigh out [Applause] 37 pounds so at two dollars a pound that comes out to 74 bucks all right sounds good well thank you very much ben all right 24 an hour 14 24 an hour and in in what two two years you made your first million yes so he started off with his own vehicle picking up stuff and dropping it off and scrapping crushing cars to All of This Rags to Rich's story he's a real rags to Rich or something about six months at my job yeah I'm still going on that six months [Applause] hey guys how do I look up parts you know earlier today we had that 2010 Kia Forte I had no idea about all parts are the same all vehicles are the same they all have little tiny little ID tags on the back that got numbers on them those numbers are the part numbers it's as simple as just looking at the part numbers see right here we got part numbers they all have these tiny little part numbers right here that you just put in the search bar eBay and you can figure out what they are foreign foreign office the number one important thing the guys that take care of you you're going to go through the post office no matter what you can say you're going to only do FedEx you can say you're only going to do UPS you can complain about your carrier tip these guys greet These Guys shake their hands say hey talk about your kids like these guys aren't the enemy do you treat them well they'll treat you well slip them a few bucks you know that's how you grease the wheels and keep this stuff going you know complaining about these guys or getting a bad carrier a gift card a little bit of money can go a long way so sometimes I gotta come to the post office in person to get extra supplies because we're doing really big and we got to get more material so sometimes I like to help them out and show up at the post office and make their job easier [Music] hey guys you know that junkyard we're at earlier I paid two dollars a pound for this and it's selling every day as fast as you can get them up on eBay for 80 to 100 something like this I might price for a quick sale because I paid two dollars a pound for it 65 bucks it'll sell within minutes hey guys it's Ben from entrepreneur's Edge and I'd like to thank you today for joining me if this stuff interests you hit that subscribe button hit the like button until next time [Music]
