welcome to fast tip Friday this is amy bowser with litigation support guru today's tip is how to sign a PDF document electronically so in this example i have an example PDF file open and this works with adobe reader or adobe acrobat on the right hand side I clicked on sign so once you click on sign there's a couple different things you can do first we're going to place a signature you can either place a signature or initials we're going to place the signature when you click on place signature you have a couple different options you can type your signature draw your signature use an image or use a certificate for our example we're going to use an image but I'm also going to show you how to type it so most the time typing is not sufficient because it's not really your signature but it does come in handy when you just need to fill fill out a form for instance so typing your signature if you choose that you enter your name and then you can choose different character styles so this is number two this is number three it's number one so for our instance we're going to use an image i have a jpeg of my signature i signed a piece paper i scanned it and i saved it as a JPEG I keep it in my dropbox account in a folder called electronic signature and that way it's with me wherever i am so we're going to use an image and then we're going to browse to the file so here's my scan signature jpg file just basically looks like my somewhat messy signature I'm going to click accept and then it becomes the signature has attached to the cursor so as I move the cursor around my signature is moving with me so you basically just place the cursor you know for instance if there's a signature line you would want to place this right above the signature line so I'm just going to imagine that there's a signature block somewhere around here and i'm gonna click and then you can size it i don't want to size it because i don't want to mess up you know the resolution of it but you could size that if you want you can move it you can get the four arrows here and adjust it however you want or you can use the arrows on your keyboard to slide it left and right or up and down so that's adding a signature the next thing you could do is send your signed document and when you click on that it made some changes the document do you want to finalize confirm and send and what it does is it allows you to save this PDF that you started with and it automatically adds a suffix of dash signed and then in the process of saving this file it flattens the signature...
