What is common today that will be thought to be crazy in the future?
Free fucking speech. This will be my last stand before Quora moderators bring me down.If it is my destiny to fall, I shall do so with honor. It has come to my attention that in the past 5 years or so something really fucked up happened in USA.Now now, you might jump and say: But Remus, you are not from the USA. Why the fuck do you care about that? Indeed, I shouldn’t care about it but I do because it has signNowed Europe too. Before I speak of free speech, I want to give you a little story.Democracy — what a beautiful conceptLet me tell you this much. I might have not lived during the communist regime but I know that even if people in Eastern Europe always have to find something to complain about, they enjoy their freedoms. They can go and do whatever the fuck they want — that is, within the limit of the law or until someone smashes your head in with a bottle of vodka.Everyone wants to do whatever the fuck passes through their mind. That’s why so many people love democracy even though they ain’t got a clue of the process behind it.Some people are well-educated regarding democracy. I won’t pretend I’m one of them but I have seen people who misunderstood democracy far more than I or many of you could have ever done. When the communist regime slowly passed away from our country—people killed by the army, fires in the streets, anarchy all throughout the capital—which all ended with the sudden demise by the execution of our socialist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife Elena Ceausescu, our people were finally able to experience true democracy.HOOORAAAAAYYYY!Horay my ass.Once they had the opportunity of democracy and could finally choose someone to represent them, you know what they did? They picked the fucking right hand of Nicolae Ceausescu. All hail comrade Ion Iliescu.Yeah…no!This fucking piece of shit sold his country just so he could feed his own blind ambition. The people didn’t know any better. They thought democracy resumed to having the freedom of picking a ruler over another—that’s it, folks. That’s what democracy meant to our people in the ‘90s.Thank God he ain’t dead. Why would he? He outlived our poor king who was thrown out of his own country by this communist leech. He stands trial for war crimes yet he never went to prison. But it wouldn’t do any good now, would it?His time has almost come—and when he’ll die I’ll fucking declare that day a day worth celebrating for. Now… I ranted a little too much about our history.Perhaps I wanted you to know that some people here value a lot the freedoms they were given once the communist regime fell.Let us return to our beloved America—land of the free, home of the brave:This country since its early beginnings has known nothing but democracy. It is a beautiful piece of a country which in its short history experienced a lot.But it seems some people there have forgotten what their long gone brothers and sisters have died for. I ain’t talking about the goddamn American dream, because that’s another story.I am talking about freedom!Any kind of freedom— the freedom to eat, to play, to be with your family, to not be treated differently, to be equal under the law.And now… NOW ?!They dare spit on the dead who allowed them to live in a “free society”?These so-called “social justice warriors” who fight for the freedom and equality of everyone — that is, everyone who thinks the same as them.Nobody can’t say anything that they want anymore because someone will be offended. Everyone has to be a victim of something and feel offended. What kind of fucking bullshit is that?Do you know why it’s bullshit?Because it mostly comes from people who live with a victim complex. They feel entitled to each of their rights and privileges and see themselves as saviors of the poor members of society who are treated badly.I would respect them if their actions were genuine. But they are not—they are fucking hypocrites. What the fuck is this hate speech they keep blabbering about? They never stop talking about it.If I had the same opinion as them, it wouldn’t be called hate speech but the moment I hold a different opinion, here they go — jumping on you like the fucking zombies from World War Z.They are liberals for fuck sake—aren’t they the ones who should fight for free speech? What about China who uses censorship on a daily basis to control the information that signNowes its population? Why don’t they fucking protest for that? They always find the dumbest shit to protest about and the most ridiculous and absurd motives. Here is the thing— to some degree they are still a minority, but…Youtube is run by these pricks.Have you seen it lately? It’s fucking embarrassing. Channels being closed because they reveal their political color to be different than theirs. Since when have social media platforms become political tools? And they still have the arrogance to claim they are samaritans-fighting for the good of everyone?Fuck you and your good intentions. To impose your own views upon others, even if done out of good intentions, is no different than an evil act.People should be allowed to think and say whatever they want. No one should have the right to say what is right or wrong and impose restrictions on their vocabulary such as the old age bullshit with gender pronouns.Call me crazy, but with each passing day, this seems to be turning into George Orwell’s 1984.What is common today that will be thought to be crazy in the future?Free speech.P.S: If this answer disappears, you’ll know I have been brought down by Quora.Edit: I felt some hesitation when deciding whether I add an edit or not to my answer, but I decided to proceed because of how much this answer exploded.First of all, thanks to everyone for taking the time to read my answer. Both the people who agreed and disagreed with what I had to say.The answer while it presented to a small degree a part of reality it was exaggerated because it was written with emotions more than facts. I admit that I overreacted and went on a spree ranting about such issues.I also agree with what someone in the comments said regarding the SJW. Yes, they are a minority who tries to compensates with a loud voice. But regardless of my exaggerations, it is, without doubt, truly worrying the fact that the people who claim to be liberals—fighters for individual freedoms—would go so far as to oppress others opinions. What happens with this matter in the future is unknown to me. It might get worse or it might get better.I do wonder how the hell this answer exploded so much thought and Quora hasn’t removed this post.Once again, thank you so much for sharing your opinions and as George Carlin said: FUCK HOPE!

Is the use of technology beneficial or a great risk for law firms?
There is no denying fact that technology is impacting every business today. Increased Productivity: The most obvious benefit that law firms are looking for is better efficiencies. It is all about boosting the productivity. How technology will help in productivity? At most of the law firms, a huge amount of time is spend on administrative tasks such as billing, client intake, data entry, following up with prospects, etc.By using technologies like artificial intelligence, law firms can automate many of these administrative processes quickly, freeing up hours. Law firms and lawyers can use this time to be more productive, focus on improving the business, and provide a better experience for clients.Reduce Liability: As a lawyer, you can obviously appreciate the importance of reducing liability. According to the ABA study, approximately 45% of malpractice claims in 2010 were related to things like missed deadlines, improper calendering, lost files, procrastination, conflict of interest, or mathematical errors. It may seem foolish, but these things happen to anyone in the midst of a busy workday. The best way to avoid them is to have a systematic, process-driven approach to run a practice. How technology will help? Better Client Experience: In today’s competitive business era, the customer experience is becoming the most important factor that contributes to success. In order to thrive in today’s legal industry, you have to stay ahead of the competition by delivering truly exceptional customer service. How technology will help? Technology can signNowly improve the experience of accessing and purchasing legal services. It can streamline arduous processes, lower costs, and enable more seamless communication.Today’s consumers expect things to be easy. They don’t want to print off documents for signing, fill out forms by hand, or mail in checks to pay your fees. They want to e-sign documents from their smartphones, fill out digital forms instead of paper ones and pay their bills online by credit or debit cards. So this is affordable, easy-to-use technology solutions for all of these things! In fact, Legal Support World offers both customizable online intake forms and document automation with e-signature to make the clients onboarding process as seamless as possible. And you can do online billing with any of the popular law management software which offers credit card processing through LawPay.This is the time for lawyers to fully embrace technology and utilize it to their advantage because it is the best way to get ahead of the competition and set your firm up for success in the future. So adoption of technologies is beneficial for law firms, not a big risk!

What do you like and dislike most about your job?
Hmmm. I have a great personal advantage of working at home (App Programmer). So that's my favorite part. Ultimately I work probably an extra 5-hours per week total working out of the house when all things considered, but since it's all broken up in time (I can get up, get the mail, run an errand, take a break whenever) it just seems so much better. I talk on the phone and Skype a lot, so social interaction doesn't seem to be an issue for me. With less distraction, I feel that the chunks of time I do my work are higher quality, faster results than in an office dynamic. The dislike portion is you definitely make less money freelancing on average than going into an office everyday. The offset logic to myself is that my quality of life I feel is 10-x higher not spending over an hour a day in the car, an extra hour each day preparing to leave for work, get ready and "calm" down when I get home at night. At some points in my career commuting was up to 2 hours a day. That's an incredible amount of wasted life time and I was generally too "tired" when getting home at 6:30 pm to want to do anything after eating dinner. I also detest the time consuming process of getting new clients which I now have to do myself. Freelancers have to jump through a lot of hoops in todays virtual world where I am now bidding against people from not only across town, but completely different economic regions like India, Pakistan and Russia. They typically produce work at 40% less than Americans can because their cost of livign is signNowly lower. The plight of our economic downturn is that our home-based workforce are many times displaced engineers and highly qualified people whereas in emerging economies in programming, they are the least trained, experienced and "software mills". So that's my largest challenge overall is competing against those odds.I can depend on first time clients looking for app developers choosing the cheapest way possible and I lose 99% of those bids. However, on 2nd or more project clients who have had some experience, then come back for more "qualified" freelancers and understand they get what they pay for. America has at this time, the largest intellectual glut of underused talent sitting in their homes either under employed through layoffs, downsizing or frankly their age. With Freelancing and virtual economics of industry happening now, remote work with talented people is really happening every day and I feel is on the precipice of becoming the "norm" in the next decade. There is a lot to be said aout think tanks working in the same room. After 15 years of working p/t and now even f/t out of my house, I can tell you from my IT experience its rubbish and just not true. Skype meetings are 20-30 minutes shorter, to the point, no social BS and milling around and the work is purer in my opinion. Again, you need to be someone who doesn't need social interaction every 10 minutes to hear about people's puppies and kids 50 times a day, but I think most of use don't really need that anyhow and when I do, I actually ask them the questions now :)I think as little as just 3 0r 4 years ago, saying you worked from home had a stigma of "not being good enough" to work in an office or that you don't have a 'real' job. I feel from my personal experience now that most people seem to have changed a bit and now say that I am lucky or that they wish they could work from home. Most times they follow it up by saying there is nothing they do at work they couldn't do at home with a computer and printer. The printer part gets me, most can e done with .PDFs now anyhow including edits, comments and signatures. I only turn my printer on about once a month now. Larger companies are starting to capitalize on this notion slowly but steadily. Friends working for high IT positions (fully management with dozens of reporting employees) are now home based. This includes Verizon, Apple, Microsoft, signNow, Northrop-Grumman and many others. Companies will experience lower and lower overhead of maintaining large offices of non-interacting departments in favor of home based work. I think the largest barrier is just the 1950's mentality of them fearing not knowing how to gauge if an employee is working. Supervisors just can't walk up and down a line of cubicles anymore. Now its based not an hourly "presence in your seat" approach, it's simply based on results. You had xx work to do that week, did you do it? Recently my close friend for a very large law office had to take a leave of over a year to help take care of her elderly and ill parents that needed a little help for a few minutes just about every hour of the workday. She finally had to accept that it wasn't going to change any time soon (parents needs) so she decided to become bold with her company. They still really wanted her back and often said the department was not doing as well as when she was present, even with a temp-replacement. So she called her manager and explained her situation, that although working non-stop 7 hours a day is impossible for her, spread out over a day where she can help her parents, prepare lunch for them, etc. essentially working when she can, and over weekends - she'd have no problem putting in her realistic 50-hours a week she was working previously. All she needed was a printer, a desk and chair and a computer with 2 monitors. She said she was willing to take a 10% pay cut and the company pay for her home office equipment and supplies. The manager said they'd discuss it and in an hour called her back saying they were willing to try it for a month since her type of work was really assessed on a "weekly results" anyhow, that turning in all the work on Monday instead of Friday allowing her the weekend, wouldn't really impact them. That was almost 8-months ago and they are happy, she is happy and they gave her a 3% raise because they felt guilty she took a pay cut and she is handling more work than ever. The key here is that she is working less than the 50 -hours she used to work, no commuting and she saves a ton on dry cleaning and nice work clothes as she was in the Executive offices area. So the pay cut wasn't really noticeable to her, so in this case, she's actually come out ahead, is less pressured, taking care of her parents needs and is a lot more relaxed. In the end, personally, my likes outweigh my dislikes in my count 10-1. The money is a big issue of course, but I do what I like to do and when I want. Freedom like that has its costs, and it usually is in the form of a regular reliable paycheck amount. I am working on how to more efficiently base my projects so that they have a little overlap and paychecks are more consistent without little gaps.
