What is a good B2B LinkedIn lead generation technique?
Hi, I’ll share with you 3 ways to generate leads through Linkedin.I use this same stuff for my business, just give it a try ;-)Use Linkedin groupsFind groups where your target audience is, in order to share valuable content and provide value.By doing so, not only you’ll be able to generate traffic to your website, buy you’ll also create your brand (which is useful if you want to outsignNow decision makers later).OutsignNowI use Linkedin to get in contact with professionals on many markets, writing them an email or message.Of course, this is “cold mailing”, so it’s important that you pitch your prospects properly. However, if you have made a great job with Facebook groups, these people already know you, and it will be easier to get a feedback from them.Use Linkedin Lead Gen FormsOf course, this is paid advertising.Linkedin Lead Gen forms are specifically designed to collect leads from Linkedin. This is how they work.First of all, you need to target an audience of people who work in a certain industry, company, etc. These targeting options make Linkedin very effective for B2B lead generation.Than, create a “Lead Gen Form”, a type of ads that use pre-populated opt-in forms. This is a native lead generation ad similar to the most “famous” Facebook Lead Ads.You can learn more about these ads by reading the article below.Linkedin Lead Gen Forms VS Facebook Lead Ads: 6 Differences You Need to Know to Collect More Leads With Native Lead Generation Ads - LeadsBridgeHope it helps!

What are the best sales tools available for inside sales?
Good question. It's been a while since I wrote this answer. With the pace we're going at right now it's time for an update.the July 1st 2015 updated answer !!Inside Sales is so tools driven that you may actually want a list like this. I'll write this as I go through my day as freelance Inside Sales Professional both signing up customers and talking to partners and other freelance Sales Professionals. This answer is work in progress and more content will be added as I work through it.For a good post on emotional and intellectual tools check out Geoffrey James' excellent and important post on the topic here: http://www.inc.com/geoffrey-james/7-most-powerful-sales-tools.html. These tools are still most important to sales success!Always wanted to make a list like this. Now I'll go ahead and make it. This is meant as a full list of everything I wouldn't miss as a Sales Professional. At YourSales we've made a full document of this. Check out the YourSales.com Sales Tool Overview. A Day in the Life of Sales ToolsThe day starts as I switch on my smartphone. It is really a mini office, bringing me in touch with nearly all aspects of doing my business: phone, email, social networks, CRM, news, instant messaging, VoIP services, contacts, notes, tasks, calendar, presentation tools, training material, proposals - and the list goes on. Once in the office I switch on my laptop. It's probably the most important tool of all. It connects me to everything I need and allows me to run a bunch of the other tools I'll list below. Most of the apps and tools I use are browser based. Therefore the browser is important. I prefer the Chrome Browser, but others will have different preferences. Firefox often comes up... It needs to be solid with tabs as you don't want to be flicking through a bunch of windows to find what you were doing. In addition I use a selection of plugins with my browser all the time - they need to work as well.In the browser i go over my social networks to check pending interaction. Note that I do this before checking my email. Different social networks may work for you depending on country or industry, but I use the following:LinkedIn - for real business networking (absolutely hard requirement for sales - you HAVE to be here!)Twitter - for more casual dialogue and perceptions around what's going on right now[updated] Angel.co - up and coming network with a lot of startup and Silicon Valley activity.Facebook - for me: expecting/waiting for Facebook becoming a business networking tool, building a network now. [updated] Quora - for knowledge sharing, understanding the World, authority management, and networking. Admittedly this has declined in priority recently.Google+ - see my reason for working with Facebook.I work with a few social networks simply because I expect they will become players for business networking in the future. Networks are like opportunities: You need to build them before you need them. Too often I've seen people need a network, but having no structured way around working with networking they lost networking opportunity. Be structural and consistent in your networking - it will be one of your biggest strengths in sales.[updated] By the way, I use Buffer (company) to create posts to social networks and Bitly links to track clicks and activity.Once social networks have been checked I'll open the CRM system of choice. I run a sales outsourcing company, so I work with whatever my client prefers.[updated] We have good experience with Salesforce.com and Pipedrive, but there are plenty of solid CRM and opportunity management systems out there.[updated] I'll also get email going. As with everything else I prefer cloud based email. I have Outlook 2010, but never ever use it. Email is browser based or to be found in the Gmail client on either Android or iOS. This way I can make use of productivity and tracking tools I have installed in my browser - another benefit of working with Google Chrome. If you prefer, go ahead and use Outlook. It's just that to a large extent that will tie you to not only your computer, but also to your operating system. If you use cloud-based email you can work in similar ways on most devices and operating systems, making you more flexible.[updated] For additional information - whitepapers on any topic, guides on any topic, I use Google Drive (product). Now, with everything locked and loaded it's time to put the headset on and get the day going![updated] Smartphone. I use a Samsung Galaxy S4, but other high-end phones running iOS or Android will do the job as well. I would personally stay away from Windows Phone (operating system)s for now.Laptop. You want a laptop because you want to be able to work from anywhere. Your laptop should be your entire office. Something light, thin, transportable with a anti-glare or matte screen. You'll be wanting to work under all sorts of conditions and a glossy screen will not help you. Make sure it's a fast machine as you want it to be able to carry the load of all you throw at it. There's nothing worse than a laptop that's part of the problem instead of part of the solution.I'd go with no more and no less than a 14" screen, but find out what works for you for a full days work.Monitor: At your base you'll want a nice, good quality, flat screen set at the right height. Always working with a laptop is bad for posture and your physique in general. You may think that this has nothing to do with Inside Sales, but Inside Sales is all about having energy. Energy to think fast, energy to sound energetic through the phone. Your physical environment is important. This makes the monitor important.Phone App. To make calls.Smartphone: VariousThe stock mobile phone appCounterpath Bria for VoIPAndroid 2.3 or above for VoIP (current devices are being sold with Android 5)Skype for dials. Preferrably with a plan that secures free calling with whichever region you do most of your business in.Tablet: I meanwhile just run CounterPath Bria on NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet (product). If you use an iPad, CounterPath has an excellent version of Bria for for iOS VOIP.Windows: Counterpath BriaHeadset: You want to keep your hands free. The best headset for me that's also transportable is the Plantronics (company) .Audio 400 DSP. This is still my preference after about some 14 years with the product.[updated] Social networks: LinkedIn (product), Twitter (product), Angel.co, Facebook (product), Google+, Quora, F6s (company).[updated] Email: Gmail incl Chrome plugins such as Yesware, Rapportive, SalesLoft, and Cloutex.[updated] Planning meetings: At all times attempt to take the synchronization of calendars between you and whoever you're planning to speak to out of the picture. I do that using Calendly!

Does your sales team object to using CRM? How can you encourage its use?
I find myself eligible to answer this. Well, below are the concerns which sales guys have when a CRM is imposed on them:Sales guys feel that CRM is introduced to keep a watch on them; or track/monitor them. They feel as if they are put in a glass cabin. Remember, every sales guy wants to work in a hidden corner telling no one about his HOT prospect. Because, he wants to show up in office as a Hero when he cracks that 55 lac deal with that HNI customer. Obviously, when you watch their leads & asks questions about the status of a particular lead, they feel offended. They feel that its an unnece...

I am starting a website chat SaaS business, hoping to price it at $249/annually. How should I acquire 3,000 paying customers in
Wow. Well, you have your work cut out for you. Have you launched yet? 2015 has only 4 months left, and without a budget for marketing, a high price point and not as many features as your competitors, you have a very steep uphill climb. @Ashli had all great tips to share. I'll add a few:Research your target market and competition. Do a comp analysis, and find what you offer your market that your competition doesn't. Is it faster/better/cheaper? Get as detailed as possible. This is repeating what Ashli said, but it bears repeating. In this shortened period of time, focus on analytics. Where are people falling off of your website? Where do they come from? Are they finding you using the keywords you've used? Then, fix what's broken. Analyze and optimize. Utilize social media. DON'T BE A MEGAPHONE SELLING YOUR PRODUCT, though. Make sure you balance promo copy with helpful tips that relate to your business. It's your cheapest (free) option for marketing at this point. Make it easy for people to join on social (use the Facebook Tabs to add a app store or the CTA button for people to download or sign up for your platform, Pinterest and Instagram "Buy Now" buttons, etc.).Create and execute an influencer strategy. Find the influencers in your niche, and send them a quick one-pager about your product, ask them to review it, and give them an incentive to do so. Let them share a special code to their users that would act as a referral (maybe 20% off, or free trial, or something like that).Change your tactic for talking about price. Instead of saying $250 a year, say only $20/mo. This changes the perception of price and value in people's heads. Use social ads. Once you've streamlined and defined your target market, then target them with ads and sponsored posts. Promote what you're solving for them...

Sales: As a sales manager what can you do to make your sales people more productive?
I’ll be a bit bold and pragmatic here. Most likely will deviate from quite a few answers but this is an answer honest open coming directly from the field, not from offices, consulting firms or project groups:Let them make their work, don’t flood them with systems, tools and processes.I’ve worked for a major oil company where we were so frustrated and lacking motivation with all that bureaucracy that once we decided to make a study on how much time we really used with our customers. You probably won’t believe me, but 65% of the time was used for purely internal purposes (meetings of all kinds and formats, systems and processes to fill in everyday, databases to update regularly, conf-calls, sales meetings, development programs, monthly discussions with sales director, weekly team meetings, projects and the list would go on and on). After some years over there I decided to leave, still in a chemical multinational but smaller. Best thing I ever did. It has been 3 years now and probably I’m the second happiest man on Earth after Matthieu Ricard. The difference? I’m doing what I love, know and where I can make a difference and bring the most to my company and its relation with our customers.I would say more than 85% of the time is dedicated (or available) to manage my portfolio and my region. To develop it, optimize it and explore it.You want to motivate your sales people?Empower them: That’s the best thing you can do with sales people.Make them accountable/responsible: People who feel responsible give back much more than you had asked.Take away or ease at max their frustrations.Of course they need to fill in forms and update database, but please ensure they understand and see the benefits (for them, team or organization), don’t force them to do any tasks or routines they don’t see any benefit at all like doing “tick the box” exercises. The best thing to do is to ask them what are their biggest frustrations. openly. On the F2F meetings and as a team. What are their main blockers.Align your company and departments on the vision and targets. Very often sales people have to “negotiate” or to deal with more challenges internally than with their own customers. Crazy ha? Functions like Credit, logistics, customer service, Quality, production and so on and so forth, need to understand each other roles and hurdles in order to better understand the business from an end to end perspective.Of course salary and benefits, training, bonus schemes, career options are always welcome, but those are more seen as a “standard” for sales folks than a real differentiation.besides, each person might have different motivations.Remember, whilst physical work is often expected to be rewarded with money, intellectual work is often expected to be rewarded with praise and recognition. One last thing, I wouldn’t put your team in a full competing mode against each other. Long term relations and business isn’t a rat race. Don’t push them to compete, but to complete.

What are the best tactics for a follow up email?
In order for a follow-up to be successful, we gotta take one step back and talk about our email outsignNow game.Do we have a clearly defined goal of the email outsignNow?Are we providing value to our audience? If not, are we entertaining or educating them? How are we pushing people down our funnel? In most cases, follow-up exists as backup. Salespeople usually "remind" their prospects of their main email.Rarely do you see, besides in specific email sequences, longer and more unique follow-ups.That could be your opportunity for example. The way you do your follow-ups, how you many do you send and what the content gonna be like depends on one key thing.Your strategy. In other words, what needs to happen for you to be happy with the result.Get a reply? Book a demo? Earn a backlink? That goal will define your entire sequence, the number of follow-ups, how long would your emails be and when you're going to go for the ask.Meaningful relationships take time. That's why they're meaningful. Here are a few tips to write high-performing follow-ups:Personalize your emailsBy far the best way to stand out in any inbox.Talk about them firstContext is key because it makes the email about them. People hate generic emails, fake flattery and all those bullshit comments. To put things in perspective, I did an outsignNow to podcasts not so long ago. What you gotta know here is that I actually listened to some parts of all 50+ podcasts and learned what they are about.Give value firstThis is the best advice in my experience when doing a backlink outsignNow.Instead of asking them to do you a favor, you should be thinking how you can do something that will bring them value first. Why?Because nobody gives a damn about what you want. When backlinks are the topic, most people go for a generic template, non-meaningful compliment and an ask.Don't be most people.Reminding is okay because people forgetImagine the following situation. You've sent your campaign. Your open rate is solid, but you would like to see more replies. In essence, there are 50/50 chances your prospects have either read your email and aren't interested, or they might be interested but forgot to reply. In other words, you got a 50% shot. Give or take!My advice here is to keep the reminder short and maybe funny in some situations. I'll show you an example in a minute.Short or long follow-upsThere's no right way. Anybody who says short or long only is just talking. The content within the email is what makes your outsignNow work or not. Sometimes that content is longer, sometimes shorter. But the debate is whether it's good or not.Don't sweat the technique.Always have a clear call to actionRemember, your goal here isn't to sell your service or your product. Focus on one goal and one goal only.Getting them to talk to you. If it didn't work the first time, don't worry. Keep testing and stay focused on the goal. You'll see, it will work, as long as you're providing value. In this article I go through a few examples and share 2 follow-up templates you can steal.
